Guest Gist Posted 12 August 2006 Share Posted 12 August 2006 I quite like Maybury would be a shame to see him go but if we could get Welsh as part of the deal it would be just what we need we have Stearman and Kenton who can play at right back as shown with his solid performance today. lookwhaticando Posted 12 August 2006 Share Posted 12 August 2006 I'm sure Maybury would prefer to be played at RB - but it's not all that likely with Stearman being the usual player in that position, and Kenton deputising most recently. So he may want a move away to a place where he can take up his natural position - it'd be good for him. Just watch as he moves, then scores against us when we play Sunderland in a few weeks time. Thracian Posted 12 August 2006 Share Posted 12 August 2006 He might play well but there is nothing about him that would suggest he might score.

potter3 Posted 13 August 2006 Share Posted 13 August 2006 No, I would much rather have Welsh than Hoult, Hendersons done nothing wrong (so far )
lookwhaticando Posted 13 August 2006 Share Posted 13 August 2006 I'd prefer we used Logan if Henderson drops a bollock at some point this season. It'd be good to know if our academy keeper is ready to make the step up. And it's cheaper than bringing in a new keeper, as well as trying to shift one of the current ones. Shum Posted 14 August 2006 Share Posted 14 August 2006 Black Cats In For Maybury Leicester City have today confirmed that they have received an enquiry from Sunderland regarding Alan Maybury. Maybury, who joined the club for an undisclosed fee from Hearts in January 2005, has been a regular in the Foxes line up since making the move south of the border, but was left out of the squad to face Ipswich Town last weekend. Manager Rob Kelly said: "I have been informed by our chief executive, Tim Davies, that we had received an approach for Alan from Sunderland. Tim is currently speaking to Sunderland on the matter. In the meantime Alan continues to be a Leicester City player." http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~881773,00.html

One by one Craig Levein's dog shit signings are being flogged off to make other teams worse off! Maybe blunderland might like to take MDV and Sylla while they're in a spending mood ? Ricey Posted 14 August 2006 Share Posted 14 August 2006 I reckon it will just be a straight swap with Welsh, if not then £250k.
Manwell Pablo Posted 14 August 2006 Share Posted 14 August 2006 I reckon it will just be a straight swap with Welsh, if not then £250k. That's a bit of shite swap for us though, well on paper any way. The only way we benefit is by virtue of Welsh being younger. Maybury is a "proven peformer" at this level (and higher) as far as Quinn is concerned(). Andy Welsh has hardly played at any level, and he's out for at least 2 months with ankle ligament damage. plus your fogeting, while we see the left side as a problem Kelly doesn't as he has super Danny "30+ games a season" Tiatto, Stephen Hughes who did so well for him there last season and Levi Porter coming through the ranks

But on a footnote, what would you do with the £250k? Buy a right winger or a left winger? Do we need a right winger? Low looks above average, Hughes can play there as can Sylla or O'Grady/Hammond. On the left as you say we have Twatto, Hughes and Porter. I would still go for a left sided midfielder though.
