Most likely vote SPD...that'll confuse 'em.

One thing not one top politician has picked up on, is how the so called top 3, and in fact the rest, are not understanding, they are all just confusing the youth vote, plus every single debate this last 10 days, all parties have been too busy, procrastinating what they have to offer, or not selling what they themselves propose to do.

Have often told people to go and read the manifesto, instead of believing the things mentioned in debate. Most of all too busy in fact 95% of the time telling the would be electorate, what the opposing parties are doing wrong.

I bloody hope so! Imagine spending 5 years telling people not to vote, openly admitted you haven't registered to vote and then after the day passes for that to endorse Miliband. lol

Looking at the polls today it appears Labour are dropping back again, 30 or 31% generally while the Tories are rock solid around 33% - Despite that UKIP seems to have found an extra couple of percent as well giving them around 15-18 rather than 12-15...

Have Labour lost a little bit of there backing to UKIP over the SNP stuff? UKIP now heavy odds on to win Thurrock, Clacton and South Thanet as well as 2/1 or shorter for 5-6 other seats.

Looks like they're still not moving far apart over all the polls together. Love how you constantly see this Labour massive drop when there isn't one.

If anything there has been a move back to Labour and on a ten poll rolling average they're nearly a point ahead. The Tories had a good couple of polling days early last week but things have reverted to the mean again now. Ignore any small leads taken at this stage; it's all noise around dead level. If the polls have this right (and there's no guarantee of that) then the chances are we are looking at an administration led by Ed Miliband. He could probably do without having any more tombstones though, for ****'s sake.

Either way it won't be quick and it won't be pretty. Don't expect to know who will lead the government on Friday.

One tip; ignore the bookies. They got it very wrong last time and are out of kilter with the polls this time. Betting patterns are a terrible way to judge election outcomes. Trust the science over the cash.

How are they planning to abolish the monarchy when the Queen can technically veto anything that goes through parliament? They're essentially planning to ask her to sign her own P45...

I was told by my a-level law teacher The royal assent is automatically given and the Queen gave up her right to veto anything and that includes abolishing the Monarchy. But Wikipedia suggests that is not the case, so I don't really know.

Don't put words into my mouth, I didn't say anything 'massive' had happened.

Hover the cursor over the graph, you'll see that have slightly dropped back over the last month or so from a solid 34 to a 33 and the Tories have gone from a 32 to a solid 34%. The Blue line is below the red until mid April and has been above it since.

If I remember right (and was taught correctly in the first place...) the Queen can veto something, but it can then be put through the process again (possibly altered, not sure). If it ends up going through parliament a third time, I believe she loses her right to veto it.

Steve coogan and Russell brand backing labour.......I always said labour voters were jokers.

We're now being lectured on morality by Russell Brand and Steve Coogan, you can't make this shit up.

I didn't say you said the word massive, but you're stating that Labour have dropped down 4 or 5 percent to 30%, when in reality, and in your above post, they've dropped 1%, and the Tories have gained 1 or 2 percent not the 4% or so you were originally saying. So the polls show them at 33% and 34%, not 35% and 30%. As our Nigel would say fine margins.

Well if we go back two years we can say Labour has dropped from 44% to 32% - that's a massive drop.

Just spare a thought for Purpleronnie at this time, he's got a massive bet on Labour to win an outright majority at odds on.

Well yeah, that is a massive drop, but that's over the past two years, not the last month.

Don't forget Delia "where are ya?" Smith!

Whatever next on the morality front?

A PM who ignores warnings and awards knighthoods to Jimmy Savile and Cyril Smith (Thatcher)?

A PM who shags a colleague behind his wife's back and then launches a "back to basics" morality campaign (Major)?

A PM who is repeatedly warned not to appoint someone (Coulson) implicated in phone hacking, makes him his Communications Director, then sees him jailed (Cameron)?

Whatever their morality, at least Brand and Coogan are good comedians. Who have the Tories got? Michael McIntyre?

Gone are the days when they could roll out Kenny Everett to call for Russia to be bombed and Michael Foot's stick to be kicked away. At least he was funny, even if morality probably wasn't his strong suit either.

I suppose they do have successful businesswoman Karren Brady, who launched her career flogging porn for David Sullivan.

Are they wheeling out Bruce Forsyth and Cilla Black again? Where's Steve "Interesting" Davis when you need him?

Blimey, some of those examples are so old they are before my time!

I'm glad the Tories have stayed out of this nonsense of trying to push forward celebrities to try and win votes, I find the whole thing pathetic. I really do wish we still had Spitting Image, can you imagine how good the Russell Brand puppet would be? Being asked if he really needs his his 24/7 hairdresser, 24/7 chaffuer, $3million home in LA he doesn't have time to stay at?

What a revolutionist the man is! I bet Che didn't have his own private jet.

Why haven't Labour taken Eddie Izzard around Tower Hamlets, Bradford and Birmingham to meet the Labour voting public? He's been everywhere else by the looks of it, I don't get it.

Collymore backing Labour as well.

The list of supporters is making the Labour party Muslim events actually look like the least of their problems regarding sexism at the minute.

Some of us are old gits, Matt! Make good use of the last remnants of your youth while you still can, mate!

I'm sure that Alan Duncan and Margot James are touring the Birmingham and Bradford marginals as we speak.

In the 90s, my mate (an Anglicised Sikh) brought a gay rights activist along to speak to a Manchester Labour Party ward meeting - and all the Muslims walked out. Mind you, there'd probably be a similar reaction from Christians at a DUP meeting. A meeting full of elderly Tory ladies would probably have the decency to stay put and listen, I imagine - though they'd probably tighten their lips (facial and otherwise) and look sniffily disapproving.

Further bad publicity for Labour as yet another unsavoury, disreputable character offers his support.....

Yep, I'm defecting from the Greens to Labour!

I'd fully intended to vote Green until the last couple of days, (a) to get climate change and consequent policy changes up the agenda; (b) to give Labour a kick up the left buttock.

However, the Greens have singularly failed to highlight climate change as an issue or to promote credible left-wing policies, instead coming across like one of the purist hard-left factions that bedevilled Labour in the 80s.

Their day can - and must - come, but this isn't it. Very disappointed with their campaign.

On the other hand, Labour have run a good campaign, promoting some good principles and policies, even if, like the Tories, they've been concealing some of the detail to avoid negative media coverage. In truth, I think Labour would be more left-wing in office than they're letting on, just as the Tories would be more right-wing (people suggesting there's no difference between them are wrong). After all, the main reason that Ed stood for the leadership against his brother was to push the party to the left of New Labour. I wouldn't mind a Lab/LD deal; a bit less keen on Lab/SNP, but also think (a) that Miliband is shrewd enough to outwit the SNP in the long run; and (b) that the SNP will find it a lot harder to exert strong influence than the Tory scare stories claim - they have nowhere easy to run if their bluff is called.

My defection is partly personal/cultural, too, I must admit. I feel a lot more comfortable in the company of a load of beery, untrendy lefties who believe in fairness, opportunity, solidarity and a generous, inclusive society, than in the company of a load of sanctimonious, superior, middle-class vegetarian lady cyclists (sorry, Green supporters, that's too often how the party comes across to me, however much I agree with some of its core values).

So, on Thursday, let's vote Red Ed into No. 10 and let's kick Mr. D'Oily-Cameron and his stinking, sneering, chiselling, money-grabbing, nation-dividing, kick-the-vulnerable Tory twats into the gutter of history where they belong!  :chant:

No offence meant to you, Matt, or to the decent, civil Tories who post here (I'm sure you all smell much more fragrant than I do). I suppose politics can still be very tribal - and I've realised that Labour is still my tribe.

I might even take up Russell Brand's suggestion that political pressure must continue beyond the election. I might even join the Labour Party to do my bit to push it more towards the left, the environment and democracy devolved to the people.

Altogether now: "The people's flag is deepest red...." (No, I'm not down at the Kings with Rincewind!  :D )
