splinterdream Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 When people are doubting us, you just have to remember we've just won 5 out of the last 6 games, 2 losses in the last 8 games and that was and that was Spurs and the champions. The teams confidence is sky high, we have 2 home games and all our games are winnable, why be worried? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Rasmic123 Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 cant see anyone other than sunderland going down, their only chance at points is against us and even if they do beat us, we'll probably still beat qpr and be above them. newcastle should beat qpr and stay up too
st albans fox Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 There is point here re the way we finish the campaign. Even if safe, we need to keep the momentum going into the summer. tbh, the last three games are winnable. we should keep going strongly.
Guest kristianity77 Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 I'll feel a lot better about the situation provided Hull lose to Arsenal on Monday and Sunderland lose away at Everton on the Saturday lunchtime kick off. If that happens and we somehow manage to get 3 points against Southampton, I think that alone will probably be enough.
weller54 Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Everton beat Sunderland.. We beat Southampton... Then even IF we lose at Sunderland they won't finish above us.. Not with their last 2 games away to Arsenal and Chelsea!
Kitchandro Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Gutted about yesterday's results. Need to win next week and if Sunderland lose I'll be confident. Will probably need to get something at Sunderland which is a nightmare because we're totally different kettle of fish away. You can't trust us to get out the blocks and play positively. Frankly, that's the only thing that can send us down. If we play like we have done in the last few home games we'll win them all. If we play like we did at Burnley I fear the worst.
leicesterseddon Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Still got a horrible feeling that it will come down to the last day... Having said that, that scenario wouldn't be the end of the world, given that QPR will most likely be down by then. The absolute imperative is not to lose at Sunderland. If we get a point there I'd say we'll probably do it, given that I can see us getting at least 4 (and possibly 6 points) out of our two remaining home games and given the run-ins that the other sides have 39 points should be enough

I think our best chance might be to hope Newcastle continue to collapse. If they do we'll probably be ok.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Just watch Arsenal roll over and let Hull tickle their tummy. I can see it happening
weller54 Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Just watch Arsenal roll over and let Hull tickle their tummy. I can see it happening And of course Hull have Newcastlesque Manchester United to play still!!!....
Webbo Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Can't predict any results now, too many teams on holiday to rely on others. We need to win all three. We can win just 2 as long as one is Sunderland.

The Doctor Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 And of course Hull have Newcastlesque Manchester United to play still!!!.... Steve Bruce always loses to Man Utd though.
m4DD0gg Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Newcastle will not get another point, they were truly terrible yesterday and it is somewhat disappointing we didn't win by 6 or 7 their manager is even coming out and saying his team aren't playing for him and his players are getting themselves sent off on purpose... crazy Of course they will and wont go down. Either us Dull or Sunderland
AyewJoking Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 For the majority of the season we deserved relegation but after 5 wins from 6, it isnt just a turn around, its miraculous. Relegation now would be so cruel. I believe we can survive but just want the games to come thick and fast, I'm doing my head in with the what if's.
Guest kristianity77 Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Its not a case of whether Newcastle will get a point or not. I think after yesterdays game Newcastle now probably need a win to stay up, 35 won't be enough I don't think, and neither will 36. I think the safety barrier has now probably gone up to 37. Or to put it another way, if we knew now that we would be on 36 come the end of the season but didn't know what other teams would be on, we would all (rightly so in my opinion) be panicking like hell! Newcastle need a win, and I'm not sure they will get it.

Jobyfox Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Of course they will and wont go down. Either us Dull or Sunderland Have to agree that Newcastle will surely show some fight and pick some points up from somewhere. Their run in is relatively kind. I agree it's us, Hull or Sunderland.
weller54 Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Need Everton to have a positive reaction to their poor performance yesterday against Villa.. If Sunderland get anything from that game they'll go into playing us full of confidence!... Come on The Toffees!!!
Rob1742 Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 The bookies have Sunderland as favourites to go, but if they beat us it could be curtains for us. Looking at what everyone has left, it really isn't predictable and results at the bottom currently prove that. The annoying thing for me is that we have done brilliantly over the last six games, but despite that we could still go down. Would hate it to go to QPR, as you only have to look at yesterday's fixtures in the Championship to prove that last days don't run true to form.
Babylon Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 We can win just 2 as long as one is Sunderland.Sunderland have four games left, lose to us they still can pick up 9 other points. We win two we only pick up 6.
SpacedX Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 For the majority of the season we deserved relegation but after 5 wins from 6, it isnt just a turn around, its miraculous. Relegation now would be so cruel. I believe we can survive but just want the games to come thick and fast, I'm doing my head in with the what if's. Unfortunately the 'majority of the season' is what caused this, where had we had played the quick attacking game that NP has engendered and employed the tactics/strategies and selections that we are now, I really believe that we would have been comfortably mid table. I accept that securing the services of Huth has been massive and we can only look ahead to the final three games given the formidable side that we now are with confidence and justifiable optimism. We will beat Sunderland and QPR.
David Hankey Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 I certainly hope it's Newcastle. What a shower. Probably the worse side seen at the KP this season and that includes Shrewsbury Town, with all due respect to them.
