One Place Left, 5 teams in it

Fair point, but they thought there was no way they would go down when pardew left and would be able to wait. They have no chance of De Boer if they get relegated. A few months ago NP was almost sacked now he is probably one of the safest managers in the league. Things change, in football very quickly. If you were Ashley would you stick or twist?

I'd twist, but Ashley will go for the cheaper option of waiting and hope for the best. He'll just sit and wait and hope they stay up so he doesn't have to fork out compensation for nicking another teams manager.

The guy's got £3.5b, I don't see why a few million here or there for a football club he owns should matter one jot.

Well it clearly does, because that's one of the fans biggest gripes with him, that's he far to tight with not only investing in the club himself, but spending the money the club makes too.

Our goal difference is like an extra point.

Can not believe the results today. Next week is as crucial as this weeks games.

Hopefully, southampton is on downer for us next week as three points there will surely give us some breathing space.

Newcastle can go one of two ways after today. They've hit rock bottom and their players can either come out fighting or just carry on (hopefully) in the same manner they've approached the last 8 games.

I know they have gone down before but surely they have enough quality to get out of it. Sunderland have a good manager who seems to know how to scrap. Villa are riding the Sherwood wave and an in form Benteke will probably see them off. That leaves Hull, good defensive displays albeit against a toothless Liverpool side will hold them in good stead but goals is what gets you out of trouble.

Squeaky bum time, indeed!

I'd have said West Brom might take the remaining spot but if they grind out this win then they're safe. Really is a toss up between us, Sunderland, Hull, Villa and Newcastle. No idea who's going, Hull picked up form, Sunderland managed to win despite sounding shit, Villa blow so hot and cold it's unreal. And Newcastle, who will undoubtedly bin off Carver and get 2 back to back wins like everyone else always does. Realistically, we draw(/beat) Sunderland and they slump off again, think that's manageable

I see only a reference to goals and not points. Therefore it depends on the point of reference. Get an early night Sunday..the last few months of schooling tend to be the most important x

sunderland couldnt score in open play....you would have to say that hey won't be looking forward to playing us while we're in this mood

It feels like we lost today with the way results have gone for us. Hopefully Hull and Sunderland lose their respective games in hand over us.

Why does it?

Burnley n QPR are almost dead..and seeing how bad Newcastle are can only give us hope!!

It would be nice if arsenal can do what Liverpool couldn't do last week, and " turn up" at hull!!arsenal win be great a arsenal win by two goals, will see us climb above hull, without playing!

Aside from Burnley and QPR practically booking their places in the championship can't believe how wank the results were today. Just need a hull win Monday to top it off :-/

All the other teams around us have games against teams with nothing to play for but our Southampton and Sunderland games are big for the opposition.  I can't believe how relaxed people are about it.  This is far from done.  We have 3 MUST WIN games but they are 3 winnable games.  The players and Pearson and the staff have to be commended for what they have achieved to rescue the situation during April and today but we have to go and do it in 3 more games.  Sunderland away has the potential to be the biggest game Leicester has played for years.  MASSIVE PRESSURE.  Keep the faith and keep the support!  #12thman

So annoying. Our best win of the season and we're no better off than we were.

We are better off than we were.

If Sunderland stay up then we're as likely to go down as Hull or Newcastle.

This morning it looked like if Sunderland stayed up then we would be the most likely team to go.

Also QPR and Burnley have gone from an outside chance of staying up to as good as gone.

Newcastle and Hull have had a bad day, the former especially.

Sunderland playing early is going to dictate my mood for the Saints game. Lose and I'll only be nervous rather than absolutely shitting myself if they pull a win out of the bag.

Hull may have put a couple wins together but lose 2-0 on Monday and we're above them. Yes they have Burnley at home but we have QPR.

It's all up for grabs - most important thing is we are playing better than anyone else down there.

What has become abundantly clear is that we can't rely on anyone's 'difficult' end of season run ins to help us.

True.

Sunderland becomes as important a game as Burnley was unless we do Southampton next week and they lose.

Can't believe they won today, gutting. Squeaky bum time now.

All of that said, with how shit Newcastle were and Carver falling out with everyone I'd actually go so far as to call them favourites to drop now.

The players actually don't look like they want the club to stay up.

Carver near enough said they threw the gamed away. He was not happy. I was annoyed with the presenters on BT sport especially  SAvage. He was saying how rubbish Newcastle were but was not giving credit to City. McManaman praised them though. There was a heated exchange between them.
