Any idea how long he's out for?

It'll be about 6-9 months. One of my friends is coming back from ACL surgery and that's the timeline he was given and his physio is former team GB. He'll basically lose all of his quad muscle so will take a while.

His hair even looks perfect when he's stuck in a hospital bed!

Love this guy, great bloke and becoming a very important part of our midfield. Really really hope this injury doesn't have too much of an impact on his development. All the best Matty.

Met him once briefly and was a lovely lovely lad.

Good luck to him.

David Nugent will miss Leicester City's final game of the season, at the King Power Stadium on Sunday, manager Nigel Pearson has confirmed this afternoon.

Nugent has made good progress in recovering from a calf injury but Pearson said he would not be risked against QPR.

"He won't be available but he has made good progress," said Pearson.

"He is now able to work pain-free, which means he is very, very close.

If there was more riding on the game there may be other considerations, but for the sake of what is riding on this game, which is three points and an opportunity to get beyond 40 points, it is not a risk we are contemplating."

Pearson said midfielder Matty James' surgery on his ruptured anterior cruciate ligament had gone well.

"In terms of the ACL repair it has been a success," he said. "You can't particularly generalise too much with these situations.

"Every player is different and the most important thing is the problem has been rectified and he is in good hands.

"He's single-minded and keen to be back as soon as possible.

"And fortunately the added bonus is he will be a Premier League player."

Midfielder Matty James has again thanked the Leicester City fans for their support as he continues his recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

The 23-year-old is under the watchful eye of the Club’s medical staff as he builds towards a comeback from the injury he suffered during City’s victory over Southampton in May.

It’s the first serious injury the former Manchester United has suffered in his career and he has revealed how he took to social media for the first time to keep his well wishers updated with his progress.

“I’ve come off crutches now and I’m walking about the best I can,” James told Foxes Player. “I’ve started to do some exercises in the gym but I’m just taking it nice and slow. I’m just trying to build the quad back up to get some stability back in my knee.

“The reaction from the fans was really good. At the time I was devastated to do it and thinking about how long I’d be out for, so it was great to have that support.

“I’ve seen some really nice messages and it’s great when you receive that kind of support as a football player. Hopefully now I can work hard to come back even stronger.

“When I first did my injury people were wondering how I was and I wasn’t up-to-date with all this social media, but now I’m injured I want to try to keep people in the loop and in touch with what I’m doing. It’s going to be a long process but it’s going well so far.

“I’m being monitored very closely. Dave Rennie (Club physiotherapist) is looking after me and I can’t speak highly enough of him. I’ve just got to keep on top of everything – the swelling and the fluid – then hopefully there will be no response to anything I’m doing.”

Although James has missed the dreaded pre-season run due to injury, he’s still been impressed with what he’s seen from his team-mates and can’t wait to get back involved.

He added: “I want to be out there training and playing, but that pre-season run isn’t very nice! The lads have all done well though and I think they’ve all completed it. It’s been really good.

“Not everybody is back in yet, but most of the lads are back and they’ve been doing the dreaded run. I’ve just been watching. I wish I was doing it but it’s one of those things at the moment where you’ve just got to sit back, cheer everyone on and hopefully it’ll be a good pre-season.”
