Viva Posted 2 December 2015 Posted 2 December 2015 Didn't he bring the best out of our other midfield player (s)? No I wouldn't say so. He was probably about the 8th best player in a team bottom of the table. In my eyes that makes him a top end championship player like I said earlier. I don't know how he could just suddenly walk into a team in the top 2.
Babylon Posted 2 December 2015 Posted 2 December 2015 We were bottom of the table for most of the season and I don't think James was a standout player. Was Drinkwater? Or Vardy?
Viva Posted 2 December 2015 Posted 2 December 2015 Was Drinkwater? Or Vardy?mVardy was one of our best players. Drinkwater didn't play to often. Just like Albrighton. Anyway they have already proved what they can do this season. James has never played to their level.
Soar Fox Posted 2 December 2015 Posted 2 December 2015 We were bottom of the table for most of the season and I don't think James was a standout player. We were bottom of the table last season and Mahrez was sitting on the bench for 90 minutes some weeks.

But we are a top 2 team after 13 games not 36, if you think we will be there at the end of the season you might have to dig out that United shirt again. Matty James is a decent player and still has time to improve, much like DD last season.

Guest Posted 2 December 2015 Posted 2 December 2015 If a player hasn't played for a while it goes 1 of 2 ways on here 1) solution to all problems real or imaginary or 2) not fit for purpose. There's a massive gap for some realism here folks
Babylon Posted 2 December 2015 Posted 2 December 2015 m Vardy was one of our best players. Drinkwater didn't play to often. Just like Albrighton. Anyway they have already proved what they can do this season. James has never played to their level. Vardy was good for the last run of games. Drinkwater played about as much as James.James was in our team when the turnaround started and would have stayed in it but for the injury, to dismiss him and then big up King is flabbergasting.

Anyway they have already proved what they can do this season. James has never played to their level. vardy was absolutely rubbish from late september to february. 6 months almost. drinkwater played in just 4 games less than james, it just seems like he "didn't play too often" because he was god damn awful.
ScouseFox Posted 2 December 2015 Posted 2 December 2015 Who wasn't shit most of last season? eeeees maggggu c u noooooooo eygstaaaban cammyasssoooooooooo
My Nads Posted 2 December 2015 Posted 2 December 2015 Who wasn't shit most of last season? I know this one!! ....oh, I give up, what's the answer?
My Nads Posted 2 December 2015 Posted 2 December 2015 Who wasn't shit most of last season? Got it! It was Huth!
Viva Posted 2 December 2015 Posted 2 December 2015 I know this one!! ....oh, I give up, what's the answer? You said James was great. He clearly wasn't.
dylanlegend Posted 2 December 2015 Posted 2 December 2015 Everyone was raving about James last season also he played a good part in our comeback until he got injured in the Southampton game. I've seen enough of him to rate him more than Inler, but would be surprised if he managed to get back in the current squad. Maybe a loan move would be best for him.

James is a decent player, but like everyone from last season there is a question mark about stepping up consistently at this level. All I know is that when he's played in recent years the team performed better than without him. Better than Kante, probably not as he's another level so far. But he'll be a good addition to the squad and he's still got time on his side.
Corky Posted 2 December 2015 Posted 2 December 2015 I would say King looked most comfortable out of the home grown CMs last season. Drinkwater has settled very well this season and has improved, I reckon James could be similar. Players like Vardy, Morgan, Drinkwater, even Simpson have all proved people wrong to varying degrees so far.
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 December 2015 Posted 2 December 2015 Great player to be coming back to fitness. We have a pretty good depth to the squad at the moment. I'd have no qualms to replace Drinkwater with a fully fit James if needed. Kante I'd play every game if possible.
ealingfox Posted 2 December 2015 Posted 2 December 2015 He'll struggle to get in the side now the way we are playing. With him fit I think we have too many CMs. Interested to see what levels James can produce now mind, decent player.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 2 December 2015 Posted 2 December 2015 I just remember some of his set peices. Christ, I still have nightmares.
Captain... Posted 2 December 2015 Posted 2 December 2015 Anyone who isn't excited by James coming back is a nob! James has the ability to step up, he could be better than King and Drinkwater, he could thrive in this team. Kante could get injured, Drinkwater might go off the boil, Inler may leave, King may actually disappear. James may end up playing a huge part in this season. He might not, he might not ever play for us again, you never know after an injury. But it is like a new signing getting him back and only strengthens the squad.
st albans fox Posted 2 December 2015 Posted 2 December 2015 He's had a bad Injury He might not be the player he was If he hasn't lost anything then in my opinion, he is a great asset to the squad. Players will need a rest. You saw that late on in Saturday's game.
Guest Posted 2 December 2015 Posted 2 December 2015 Always preferred James to Drinkwater. Different players admittedly. Hope he comes back strong.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 2 December 2015 Posted 2 December 2015 vardy was absolutely rubbish from late september to february. 6 months almost. drinkwater played in just 4 games less than james, it just seems like he "didn't play too often" because he was god damn awful. It is amazing how the Vardy who played in that match against QPR is the same Vardy who has hit 13 in 11.
