AKCJ Posted 10 November 2015 Posted 10 November 2015 Payet out for 3 months for West Ham, massive blow for them, will be intresting to see how they react as that would be like us losing mahrez Don't think it's quite the same. Would say it's like us losing Vardy as we've proven that we can play without Mahrez. I don't think West Ham can play as well without Payet.

EnglishOxide Posted 10 November 2015 Posted 10 November 2015 Kramaric, Okazaki and Ulloa are good strikers in their own right. At least one of them would step up to the plate if Vardy got injured. Just like Dyer would step up for Mahrez too. We have great quality in reserve, have a little faith. We are far from a two man team.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 10 November 2015 Posted 10 November 2015 I love Nathan Dyer since he's been here. Liked him before as well at Swansea.
Buzzell Posted 10 November 2015 Posted 10 November 2015 I think the way 29,000 people simultaneously shit themselves when Vardy went down injured on Saturday says we all realise how bad it would be! Tbf I couldn't breath until I seen him get back to his feet
Gerard Posted 10 November 2015 Posted 10 November 2015 People will say the same of us if Mahrez or Vardy get injured They'd be right as well.

Tbf I couldn't breath until I seen him get back to his feet All I heard were collective murmurs of 'shit!' until he rose again. The fact it was so innocuous made it seem worse.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 10 November 2015 Posted 10 November 2015 Can't remember which game it was now but definitely away full on looked like he'd done a knee ligament. That was petrifying.

They are, but Vardy's playing to the level of an absolutely top forward here. We would undoubtedly miss him.

If Mahrez got injured I'd be fine with Dyer coming into replace him because he has shown flashes of brilliance. But Vardy, with him being in the form of his life and with his brilliant goalscoring record this season, it would be horrendous to lose him and then have out of form strikers to replace him. Question is that could our crop of strikers bar Vardy take his place and do his job if he was out of the side? Only time will tell. Let's hope Vardy continues to play through the pain barrier
Guest MattP Posted 10 November 2015 Posted 10 November 2015 There is no way in a million years we could replace Vardy if he got injured, he's on a level I've never seen before from a City striker.
shen Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 on reading this http://edition.cnn.com/2013/02/01/sport/football/age-african-football-mbemba/ it seems his country changed his age for their own benefit, he has always claimed he was born in 1990 but seems willing to do anything to play in Europe including faking his age Only just looked into this. How come it has been more or less ignored by the FA and Newcastle? It is quite embarrassing that this is still happening and not getting properly exposed.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 There is no way in a million years we could replace Vardy if he got injured, he's on a level I've never seen before from a City striker. It is ridiculous - any situation he's through the middle running towards goal even level with 2 defenders, I'm already celebrating before he's taken a shot because you just know he's going to put it away. There's not even a doubt. He'll hit it just out of the keeper's reach every time. Fvcking marvellous striker

I'd say that if we're consistently in the top 4/5, we'll very likely get someone who is known for getting goals. But, currently, we should really appreciate how Vardy is doing - considering the other strikers aren't doing much as well.

Turns out he had a bone scan to clarify his age http://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/mbemba-clarifies-date-birth#:sfc1FkSp2lGYbA
shen Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 Turns out he had a bone scan to clarify his age http://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/mbemba-clarifies-date-birth#:sfc1FkSp2lGYbA This is a quote by Mbemba himself. He says "me and my friends all know". Errr.... surely this should be a test conducted by Newcastle and not something he privately did. And how can he now be so certain that his birthdate is August 8th, 1994 when he previously insisted it was in 1990? Also, if he was truly born in 1994 why would the Congolese FA bother changing his DOB to 1991 to make him eligible for the numerous youth national teams? He would've qualified outright for them anyway! This case reeks!!

Captain... Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 Maybe he is actually Ethiopian it is only 2008 there.
shen Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 I agree with you that's why I originally posted it CNN actually have documents from FECOFA stating his birth date is 08/08/88 It's ridiculous really. Unless there's some shady business going on between club and agent, Newcastle and the FA should surely have picked this up and addressed it. Anderlecht have declined to comment, clearly turning a blind eye to the issue and are now rubbing their hands in glee after suckering Newcastle into paying an astronomical amount for him. You wonder if Newcastle are hoping for exactly the same thing by selling him on for a profit in 2-3 years time...

He's way better than Mahrez, they should definitely try and sign him and not Mahrez. Mane and Andersen are also much better than Mahrez. Mahrez is shit...
