As you say, fvckin' surreal. But what I would love to know (can't be ar$ed to work it out to be honest) is how much the top five teams' PL squads have cost. Ours can't be more than £40 million (including Kramaric and Inler who don't get a game), whereas all of the other four have squads that cost hundreds of millions. That fact is even more surreal.

Only reason I can see Swansea sacking Monk is if they want Rodgers back and they think he will come back.

 

Debateable whether that's a good decision but its a poor way to treat Monk, who is club legend as well.

2008/09 League 1 Championship winning year - after 12 games we had 25 points (4th place at the time).

 

2013/14 Championship winning year - after 12 games we had 26 points (3rd place at the time).

Meh, I still don't really understand what happened, but I always thought there was more too it than just injuries, there  were a lot of odd statements coming out about him never playing for them again, the impression I got was he was acting all billy big bollocks and tried to engineer a move or get more money out them and it all went tits up for him. He had one season, but what a season.

Sacking Gary Monk is utter short termism. They've sold their best players and were always going to struggle to hit the heights.

You wonder where Monk would go from there.

Yeah, I always got the impression it all went tits up with him and the board when Laudrup got sacked. He was frequently unfit when he went off to Napoli too and it looks like he's going to sign for his brother in the Spanish 4 tier, what a career trajectory. Spanish cap to 4th tier in the matter of two years

Supposedly he's a bit of a cant and was in a clique with the other spaniards that was tolerated by laudrup but not by monk
