bovril Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Well, isn't this just a little awkward... Tell me about it. Like when you say a big goodbye to a friend you might not see for a while then you realise you're in the same direction. Fvck.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Fuchs and Schlupp will be competing for the LB / LWB role so it's hard to see Konchesky featuring much next season.
Asherz Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Peoples opinions differ I for one support the players every player coz they play for our club
Haydos Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 I hate "but he gave 100%" comments Why? It's more than a lot of players we've had in the last 10 years. And a lot more than the likes of Newcastle's players give. I generally won't knock a player for their ability, they're not trying to be worse than they can be. He's been a fairly solid player for most of the time he's been with us. I appreciate the time he's spent here. He's a decent bloke, wish him all the best.
I blame Wellens Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 One of Pearson's biggest mistakes this season. Nothing personal against Konch but he was simply not good enough and should have played no more than a bit part. Indecisive on the ball, poor positional play and unable to cover his mistakes through lack of pace. Essentially shit. Not his fault but Pearson's for not buying a decent left back at the start of last season.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 I for one support the players every player coz they play for our club That's fair enough but constructive, balanced analysis of a player (including their faults) can't be a bad thing also. One of Pearson's biggest mistakes this season. Nothing personal against Konch but he was simply not good enough and should have played no more than a bit part. Indecisive on the ball, poor positional play and unable to cover his mistakes through lack of pace. I think that's a reasonable analysis
Wymsey Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Shame he hasn't/didn't take many set-pieces; had some praise from a few West Ham fans in this skill of the game.
Finn Claw II Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 I think Pearson tried and failed to sign a new left back last time. I wonder if PK had some sort of optional year if he played a number of games. Surely someone didn't just write down a 16 instead of a 15?

Surely someone didn't just write down a 16 instead of a 15? Yes probably did to be fair. All worked out pretty nicely in the end. Along with Morgan's failings forced PEARSON to play 3 at the back and super Jeff as wing back. So I suppose konch's failings enabled us to achieve the great escape. Thanks Paul.
seenitall Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Past his sell by now but in his day a solid and dependable defender - idiots that think he was bad the whole time he was here know nothing - we used to revere the triers and those that wore their hearts on their sleeves - I blame Sky Sports for analysing every poor bugger to death - we got promoted and stayed up and he was part of that - it's a team game. It must be bozos like this at Real Madrid grumbling about Bayle..........
Finn Claw II Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 I can't quite believe he played 26 games last season. Wiki says he took a substantial pay cut for the extension in 14 so hopefully not on a massive wedge. He's also got two England caps, Vardy to beat that?
Ric Flair Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Konchesky will go out on loan I suspect or have his contract terminated by mutual consent
brigfox Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 We beat MU with 10 men - cos obviously PK is shit and doesn't count. Wasn't Deano and Liam in that team too?, Maybe we beat them with 8 players then, cos obviously theyre not good enough for Prem. either.
fleckneymike Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Konchesky will be spending a lot of time in Conrad's pool, useless coont.

It should be a standard thing for players not commendable, he's been a decent servant and he's clearly not up to the premier league so I'm not going criticise him too much but some people se to struggle to accept he's been shit this season
1966fox Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Some of you lads need to cut him some slack. It's quite sad the amount of disrespect he gets on this forum and twitter. He's won the Championship with us and contributed his part this season for us to maintain Premiership football. I'd like another year on his contract and have him act as cover for injuries. Good post on Konchesky for a change. ^ This ^ Well said
Kinowe Soorie Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Like watching a Sunday league player from the Dog & Duck.
Tielemans63 Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Like watching a Sunday league player from the Dog & Duck. That's extremely harsh. I just hope the lads at the Dog & Duck don't read this.
Izzy Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Thank you for everything and goodbye Paul Konchesky. And then see you again next season by the sounds of it
Kitchandro Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 He's ok. He's a likeable character and has had some very good games for us. On the other he's very error prone, some of his moments of madness are inexplicable, especially this season. The penalty at Burnley, the sending off at Hull, his through ball to Andy Carroll. We can't afford these sort of things and we need better now. And people saying he's better than Berner was are totally wrong. But he's been an ok/decent player overall. Fairly steady performer. A few mistakes, a few stinkers but if you averaged out his match ratings over the last 4 years you'd probably come out with 6.5/7 out of 10.Came in on big money but without the big money attitude which is something that can be said for him. Not the brightest and a couple of unsavoury moments (swearing at the fans at Millwall) but overall a good servant to the club.Kudos to Nigel for, once again, knowing when to phase out a player who has served him well (if he does go). We need to step up to the next level and saying 'thank you and goodbye' to the likes of Konchesky and Nugent is part of that. Good post
Sampson Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 I don't think I could name a better LB we have had in the last 10 years. As much as Bruno Berner was a favourite, I think Konchesky was a better footballer and given his age he has been found out in the PL. He was good the first few years for us.Berner was miles better both as a defender and a "footballer". Are people forgetting how good Berner was in 09-10? The stats with and without him in the team were staggering. He was the difference between us getting in the play-offs and being a miserable team. He was rock solid and never made the silly defensive mistakes Komchesky did.He also showed he was a good footballer when in midfield and never aimlessly hoofed it forward giving the ball away like Konchesky did. Not saying Konchesky was bad, he was a decent Championship LB. Berner was a superb one and definitely a far better player for us as a defender, as a footballer and as a major influence on our side.
