He's had a pretty successful career in all fairness and has been a good servant for us, but the step up to the PL was too much for him at his age. Can see him playing for another championship club next season, perhaps Forest where he can join up again with Matt Mills?

Solid left-back on the whole in a good era for our club, unfortunately now he's getting on and we're hopefully pushing to the next level, always remember that strike against Wolves (?), in vain thought it was, and got an important winner v Villa.

Nice to see the emotional nonsense and lack of objectivity here.

1. He has not been released

2. He is a trier, respects the crowd and is passionate

3. Pearson picked him regularly for a reason

4. Like all players miss hit passes and made mistakes but no hiding for defenders as impact of defensive errors usually greater

5. Scored some crucial goals (Villa at home) and positionally is good even if now lacks pace

6. Before grew his hair back looked hard as nails

Whatever happens I wish him well as he is towards end of his premiership career and can bring experience to a squad.

What a load of rubbish. Utterly dreadful? He played really well in our run at the start of this season.

And was steady enough in our promotion season, if you think he has been utterly dreadful, shudder to think what you think of some of the other players we've had in the last 10 years.

Boggles my mind that anybody could think we carried a player having an "utterly dreadful" session to 102 points.

My POTS in 2011/12, solid enough in the next 2 seasons but ageing and we probably should have replaced him last summer. But nevertheless he still did a great job at the start of last season and did actually provide some top level experience when it was sorely lacking throughout the squad

Considering he was 'So shit'.....It's strange how many right backs and left mids/wingers we went through during his spell here isn't it?

I mean just this season alone...we've had de laet/simpson/albrighton at right back.

Constantly tinkering with mahrez/knocky/dyer/schlupp at left mid as well.

Konchesky was a 'Very good' Left back. Defensively, before huth arrived, he was probably our best 'defend'er.

Not like you to talk out your arse.

Thank you Paul

Good player in the championship for us. He gave everything and was one of Svens better signings. Not quite premier league standard anymore. Will wish him well

He was well good under Sven.

He put in one of the only 10/10 performances I've ever seen from a left back in Nige's first game back. Zaha had just ripped United to bits in the league cup and was up against konch next game, we won 3-0 and zaha spent the rest of the year in konchesky's pocket.

Struggled to adapt as an older player to being more of a forward thinking left back, especially at this level, but a solid signing.

Some of the people saying the abuse for Konchesky is unfair because he's a trier are probably the same people that criticise Nugent for not having enough quality.

Konchesky will go down as one of our better defenders over the past 10 years but it's surely evident that he's no longer much use to us if we want to push on.

I always find it a bit odd how much abuse he gets, especially when people say it's because of all the mistakes he makes, Wes Morgan's made loads more this season than Konch and everyone loves him.

Through all my years supporting city if we're having a bad patch the fans always have a scapegoat and this season it was Konchesky, if he goes good luck to him and if he stays for another year as back up then so be it.

He's had his few stinkers here and there, but so did many other players for roughly two thirds of the past season.

Overall, he's been more than decent as well as reliable with his plethora of experience. He also gave us a few good goals, let's not forget about that - anyone remember the winning goal against Villa not so long ago?

I wish him well wherever he's headed next - now that we've pretty much stacked up on left-backs/left wing-backs, I can't see him staying any longer.

My guess is he'll join a Championship club very soon, he doesn't strike me as a player whose career is already finished. He's still got it at that level.

Players morals always must be shit reading these negative posts about them

I think we already know the morality of our players, can't imagine this thread would change it...

Good luck Konch

But he hasn't left yet, just because we have signed a new left back doesn't mean Konch will be a goner, Fuchs could have been signed because there is a lot of interest in Schlupp and he might be on his way out. It is just a bit crass to wish him well when he hasn't left yet.

I agree.

Konch has been ok.

But I simply feel we now need better to kick on.

That's not criticising, it's just my belief.

Hopefully Christian Fuchs will give us better.

A bit crass to wish him well? lol

I wish him well even if he gets offered another year contract here you donut lol

Think he will be gone though to be fair

"He's rubbish" said the surprisingly large number of successful professional left-backs from the top 2 tiers of English football on here. :nigel:

He's been absolutely fine the majority of the time. Really don't understand the abuse for a player who has done pretty well for us. Not good enough for us anymore, but he's been a good player for us.

Woeful player, genuinely seen static objects be more effective in a defensive lineup.

Please never use the word 'genuinely' when what you are saying is a load of crap. Devalues the word.
