My Nads Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 Vardy, Austin and Walcott. I just don't see how Vardy and Austin could cope with the step up!
EnderbyFox Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 Stick Vardy & Austin on Roy you moron, at least they'll look interested
bovril Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 To be fair most of these players have been playing for 10 months straight.
Guest Col city fan Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 Why is Woy not experimenting in this game? Get some of this shower off and try some new guys. If any game didn't really matter too much it's this one. It's time for Vardy.........
MC Prussian Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 Still probably as thrilling as watching paint dry. Â This match calls for Jamie Vardy!
Soar Fox Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 To be fair most of these players have been playing for 10 months straight.Make some changes then. It's not as if it's an important game. Ideal time to bring the likes of vardy & Austin on.Edit. Col beat me to it.
bovril Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 Make some changes then. It's not as if it's an important game. Ideal time to bring the likes of vardy & Austin on. Â I don't disagree. Plenty of time left.
My Nads Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 There should be a new rule where you can't play for England if they play for Man U or Liverpool!Â
GeorgeTheFox Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 Just seen an Ireland fan on reddit claim he'd be insulted if England bring vardy on. Yeah because their two championship strikers are way above him
Jimothy Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 We're learning if Sterling - Rooney - Lallana can work as a coherent front 3 against weaker opposition. Looks like they're struggling. Objectively that's far more likely to bring England success than Rooney-Austin-Vardy for example so it makes sense to try that first. I agree with you that we should try out players on the fringes but there's no point in having whole swathes of the team being experimental because when push comes to shove we're not going to line up without Rooney in an important match unless he's injured and if he is injured there are 2 other strikers miles ahead of everybody else in the queue. Given that those 2 are absent today there is no value in leaving Rooney out at all. Arguably Hodgson is trying out players on the fringes anyway - Bertrand is making his first start and Lallana, Jones and Milner are hardly first XI mainstays. The likes of Vardy and Austin aren't on the fringes of he XI, they're on the fringes of the squad - Hodgson is giving them a chance in the squad and hopefully they'll get a chance to show what they can do on the pitch with some of the better players to show that they should actually be squad regulars and on the fringes of the first XI instead. Well great what we gonna now than, draw 0-0 with Slovenia because these three don't work and we've got no other options? If we'd experimented a bit more in past friendlies we'd already know this and would be be able to experiment a bit more in other friendlies. Instead we wait for Sturidge and Welbeck to get injured, and then try out something with players we've had in previous squads and looked at before but never in certain roles, we should have looked at this before, not be forced into it.
bovril Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 This is beyond a joke. Â No, it's just an international friendly in June.
leicsmac Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 This match is actually so shit I'd be OK with an EDL meathead invading the pitch with a 'No Surrender' sign or, conversely, an Irish nutjob doing similar with a 'Free the Six Occupied' banner.  At least it would liven things up.  Get Vardy on or change things up some other way, for the love of *insert deity here*.
Jaspa Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 Leicester Uni ads on the boards as Rooney misses another chance . . .

But we didn't. Who cares if we draw 0-0 with Slovenia, we've virtually qualified anyway. Time has come for him to make some changes now, I'm surprised we haven't seen any subs yet.
ithuriel Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 I reckon Hodgson as fallen asleep on the bench which is why nothing is happening
Carl the Llama Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 If a ball ever needed to have Vardy on the end of it, that pass to Sterling was it.
Sir Shep Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 Just seen an Ireland fan on reddit claim he'd be insulted if England bring vardy on. Yeah because their two championship strikers are way above him But not offended that most of his team are British Nationals, what a tit.
