artursteppe Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 It was never going to be announced until the manager returns from Austria and has met with EB and the marketing/media team. I'll go for Wednesday. I'll go for Monday.................................or maybe Tuesday
ktfox59 Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 In Ranieri's eyes Cambiasoo may not be the future of this club, but like O Neill with Steve Walsh (better club servant) he doesn't want him, maybe just maybe he will give youth a chance, enter Hamza Choudary..... Up the City..... A very interesting perspective this, though am sure it wont be endorsed by the majority of the forum that maybe CR is not as interested in EC signing as the owners are. I could possibly see that the manager, for all his experience of managing top line big name players, could feel intimidated by EC's presence and influence at the club, given the speculated role he has been offered to stay. Of course that is all rumour and this is just a thought.
Foreverfox Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 How many weeks ago did the season end? How a player can not decide where he wants to play in that time is simply beyond me. Ok if he was waiting to see who our next manager was then fair enough but in this day and age of transport they could have met up a day or two later and decided if CR and EC were both happy to work with each other. Why he's taking this long is baffling. Whatever way he decides he is now playing catch upon pre-season training. Out of respect of the club and the fans who treated him very good he should have the decency to come out and let us know one way or the other. Yes...Most of us would be made up if he comes back but if he did at least we will know and we can move on and plan ahead if he didn't. The delay is not good for the club...The fans...or EC to be ready for the season. As much as I'd like him to return I hope the club has given him a deadline that is very close. No one player is bigger than the club LCFC was here before EC And regardless of his choice we will still be here.
FireFox Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 A lot of you seem very impatient. I want him to stay, but how is it disrespectful that he hasn't made up his mind yet? He is deciding his future, maybe just a year but maybe more. If I had two months time to think about my career/life plans for the following year, I would take all two months to decide. Maybe after we got Claudio, he did decide to sign, but didn't want to fly to Austria for a few days just to fly back (though looks like he was on holiday anyway in Italy?) Maybe he wants to talk with Claudio before deciding. Maybe while waiting, he did get a great offer from Turkey, or maybe his brother thinks he can get him a better deal. Maybe he already signed and the club wanted to wait for the weekend/Monday.
TMELcfc Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 Can't believe the amount of people saying move on when no one knows what is happening!! Everyone is just assuming he is delaying it!! When it could be the club or lots of little things just need ironing out. His brother has said in a couple of occasions they are 'waiting to hear' which could be the club, manager etc. He's the best player we've had in my lifetime, I'm prepared to wait if it means him staying!

How many world class players have we had at our club in the last 30 years? I would suggest none apart from Cambiasso. So we should give him the extra time he might need to decide.

Thracian Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 Does anyone know the situation between the club and Cambiasso at this time? Not from anything I've read on here. The whole thread is seriously devoid of fact. We've only had a new manager for a few days and, presumably, our choice of Ranieri will be a factor in Cambiasso's decision but there might be a hundred other aspects for both parties to consider. In the end all I'm interested in is the outcome. Deadlines don't come into it. If we want to sign Cambiasso or anyone else it won/t/doesn't help to hold a metaphorical gun to their head. But nor should any potential outcome be assumed. Instead we should also be focusing on options/alternatives. If that means one day telling Cambiasso his opportunity has disappeared then so be it. It happens every day, just as it happened with Pearson. People will look after their own interests first and, as a club, we should do the same. Support and loyalty are nice when they're apparent but anyone going through life expecting either is likely to have a lot of disappointments.
Lcfcwigstonblue Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 My day for the last two months, check Foxestalk sees this page is not locked, comes back 3 hrs later.
FoxinNotts Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 Patience is non existent among FoxesTalk subscribers, that's the only fact to date. Those on here with the most respected 'ITK' status have said he's signed, but they are unaware of the hold-up reason. I would suggest that because there has been no further well substantiated leak to counter the story, and to tell us that he is going else where, is good news. I think, all is agreed, on a very good offer with great benefits to him. He has requested a holiday, and he will put pen to paper upon his return,... But if someone else can offer him something as good in the meantime (unlikely) then he will listen.
lgfualol Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 Has this thread now got more pages than last year's Cambiasso thread?

I hope he isn't the only world class player I see in a city shirt but while he's the only one, I'm prepared to wait for him!
Mickyblueeyes Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 He is a 34 year old who has done everything you could possibly do in world football apart from winning the World Cup. The fact he is taking his time to pick the right club rather than the one willing to pay him the most has to be admired. This should not be affecting our other long term targets at all. Rudkin would be (or should be) pursuing the other targets regardless of the outcome of this "saga". Give him his time, if he signs we know we are getting a dedicated professional for another 12 months. If not, it was a privilege to have watched him for a season.
Captain... Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 I do get the frustration, it would be very easy for a statement to be released saying Cambiasso is on holiday and will meet with Ranieri on this date to discuss options. It doesn't confirm anything but it just gives everyone a clear idea of where the deal is at, but that hasn't been our style we have refused to do our business through the press and as frustrating as it is for the average fan it is better for the club to keep it's negotiations under wraps.
Guest seanfox778 Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 At the end of the day, if he signs great. If not then we will sign someone else and we will still go on supporting Leicester City for the upcoming season, it's going to be another exciting ride whether Esteban signs or not.

That's a sensible & well thought out post. There is no place for that kind of talk here.
Webbo Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 Nice defensive midfielder Nampalys Mendy is the latest to be linked by the French media with a move to the King Power Stadium. . Call me old fashioned but I prefer defensive midfielders who are a bit nasty.
enmac Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 My guess at present: we have 3 fit midfield players. At some point this season, there's a chance that 2 of these will be injured at the same time. Therfore we need 2 more. If rumours are to be believed, we only seem to be after 1- unless we buy both of those French guys, which seems unlikely as they sound like they're similar in style. This must mean that City are pretty sure that EC is returning to make the 2 we need. Probably wishful thinking, but ther's still a chance. Sent from my BNTV600 using Tapatalk

TheMightySystem Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 If this is the same article as the one with Ake ( I cant tell as the link dosn't work) it is just speculation about Cambiasso, no quotes or anything. Just guessed that as we are looking at other midfielders then Cambiasso wont sign. Here is the article I read http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/11748672/Claudio-Ranieri-going-back-to-Chelsea-for-Nathan-Ake.html
Danno Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 Ranieri is gonna send us down and there's nothing we can do about it
