Cambiasso to stay? It depends on the Mrs

This will all be over by the end of Tuesday at the latest.  I hope he signs, he was an amazing player, a real role model.  My lad wears the number 19 shirt for his U7 team and even wears his socks inside out!

BUT, if Cambiasso chooses to move on then fair play to him.  I honestly believe if it was an easy decision for him, he would have made it by now.  The rumour that he signed last week makes sense and that the news will be made official when they can get EC and CR in the same place at the same time.  If that doesn't work out then the player will still be a consummate professional in my mind and if it wasn't for him I absolutely believe we would be faced with away trips to the likes of Rotherham this season.

In the meantime, we will continue to be linked with a load of midfielders because 1.  We have a new manager and it always happens and 2.  Even if EC stays, we need probably 2 midfielders.

Relax everyone.  In the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter.  On August 8th we will still have to play Sunderland and will have another 37 Premier League to look forward to.

Agree I think the club will do everything possible over the next few days to secure an additional year and I was thinking Tuesday would be the logical cut off with start of pre season friendlies.

Really hope he stays and I have heard nothing concrete to suggest otherwise. Esteban and his brother seem as fed up with the rumour mill as we are.Whatever happens we need to respect his privacy and work on a Plan B.

???

I got blasted once for being "in the know" about a certain players attitude and I never apologized. If people are too ungrateful to appreciate information that is true to the best of my knowledge then why should I? Same goes for whoever it is you're talking about. I certainly won't be sharing anything I know about on here again. Think yourself lucky that you have got others who are willing to share what they know.

We all feel priveleged to have watched a world class player wear the City blue.

The 2 world class players we had both wore the goalies kit.

Esteban was the consummate professional, his contribution last season was immense, which is why so many posters want him to stay.

With Matty James injury I agree even if EC stays we still need 2 midfield additions to the squad but they have to be a step up in quality to those already here.

Situation has got to change very soon.

Its looking like more about the deal he has been offered as reported rightly or wrongly.

Understand him holding out whilst looking for a manager, but he was holding out before that.

Given now that situation is sorted and they are well known to each other Ranieri you would expect would influence a better deal if he felt he was worth it.

If it is a final offer a deadline should be imposed and we move on.

Perhaps influence against Cambiasso signing if the reports of them falling out were true.

He hasn't played for more than 1 team in any country, he comes across a very loyal person.

After how we all took to him I can't see him doing this and it's probably all newspaper crap again.

But... If he does, like I've said before I won't be booing him after what he has done for us.

He may well have had talks with West Ham - I think any player worth their salt will at least look see what other deals are on the table. The fact that Cambiasso wasn't there and was sunning himself on a beach, suggests to me that this is far from being a foregone conclusion.

Agreed I'd be surprised if he went to another English club.

Id be surprised if he went to another prem team. Looks like the owners never thought of this before sacking Pearson a big mistake.

Ever considered they may have been justified reason/s, unless you know otherwise?

Wish I had your optimism. I really can't see it happening now.

The owners keep their cards very close to their chests and must have offered him a new deal, if he had no wish to return would have thought it would be out in the open by now as in him being heavily linked with another, all to easy to spread shite via Twitter #itk cambiasso to return,#itk cambiasso to go etc all easily picked up on. You get a 50/50 chance to get it right

His decision will have a big positive or negative reaction for the new manager and the club know that as for other midfielders and the panic on  here I thought we were all in agreement how important recruitment is and in Walsh Snr we have one of the best around. The owners have shown they are prepared to pay out to improve the squad and I just cannot see Walsh Snr not identifying CM as a weakness.

He's 34, hardly the age to build a team around, yes he was influential and he's one of the greatest players I've seen in a Leicester shirt but we're nearing the end of July and he's still not signed. Bit ridiculous now; he's not going to be ready for the new season. He's had a great season here, lets leave it at that. Nobody is irreplaceable and some of you are carrying on as if we've lost an Izzet or a Heskey. As I've been saying all along, we need a new quality midfielder regardless of Cambiasso and we should seriously be looking into that new player now.

spot on IMO. Also he is soon to be 35 and do we need this all again next year (if he deigns to sign on).

Added to which all  this mooning around awaiting crumbs of comfort is unedifying and makes us look just a bit needy and small time.
