I fail to see the respect to our club &/or fans, in fact his stalling is disrespect & as per the Mercury article effects moving for other players & their belated integration into the squad.

He should be on a deadline with us

How do you know it's him who's stalling?? Despite what anyone says, no one knows what is actually happening.

I think the time has come where we need to demand an answer. Us fans deserve it and the club even more so. The season hasn't even begun yet and we are potentially damaging our chances of a successful campaign because we are waiting for Cambiasso (again) when he could turn around and say no to us. Its disrespectful to us and its disrespectful to the club. Although he appears to be an extraordinarily professional person, this indecision makes it look like he is the opposite. Yes or no, its that simple. Just don't make us dwell on this and ruin our chances of signing a suitable replacement ie Kante. Cambiasso owes us that at least, he has enjoyed superstar status whilst wearing our shirt and we have all worshipped him for it. Maybe the feeling isn't mutual.

People were saying this about Cambiasso last time, about how we should pull the plug because it was taking so long. As it happened, he signed and he was important for us. It could be the same again. Trust the club.

Do you think the club are panicking like we are? My suspicion would be no.

City are preparing to move for alternative targets should Esteban Cambiasso finally decide not to sign the new contract offer on the table.

City would love to re-sign last season's player of the year and offeredicon1.png a new deal to Cambiasso before the end of last season.

They were prepared to give him plenty of time to consider his next move after he said he wanted to reflect on his future at the end of the campaign.

But with the new season just three weeks away, and City now two weeks into their pre-season preparations, it is looking increasingly less likely that Cambiasso will re-sign.

Although City still hope to complete both deals, they are making contingency plans as currently they only have Danny Drinkwater, Andy King and Dean Hammond as fit senior midfield options, with Matty James out for at least the first half of the campaign after knee surgery.

City have been linked with another French midfielder this week.

Nice defensive midfielder Nampalys Mendy is the latest to be linked by the French media with a move to the King Power Stadium.

Reports suggest the 23-year-old is now on City's radar as they look to bolster the central midfield area.

Leicester City under-21s picked up their first victory of pre-season with a 6-2 victory over Derby.

Joe Dodoo scored a brace in four first-half minutes at Belvoir Drive while Kris Scott, Harry Panayiotou, Michael Cain and Keenan King rounded off the scoring.

I'll stick my neck out here.  If he hasn't signed by the end of Tuesday then he's gone.  It kinda makes sense that it's a done deal and they are waiting for Claudio to get back and then announce the signing with all the positive PR of having them together would bring.  If it is that straight forward, then it should be done on Monday.  If there are a few things to iron out I can only imagine it will be a matter of EC and CR sitting down and having a chat.  I would think it will be "How often am I going to play?  Can I do coaching?  Can I be captain?" and once the answers come back as "As often as you like, yes and yes" then it should be OK.  Allow a day to sort these details out, it'll be done by Tuesday.

If EC wants to carry on playing, he needs to pull his finger out because if he has to begin negotiations with another club now, it'll be another 3 weeks til he signs there what with all the medicals and stuff.

Exactly!

Seems like it's not going to happen & now we're potentially a week or two behind in negotiations for alternatives.

He's done us no favours this close season, when a simple line like 'thanking the club & fans but talking about new challenges' would have put many here out of their misery.

It's time many should thank him for a great last few games and move on.

In Ranieri's eyes Cambiasoo may not be the future of this club, but like Peter Taylor with Steve Walsh (better club servant) he doesn't want him, maybe just maybe he will give youth a chance, enter Hamza Choudary.....

Up the City.....

You mean the Steve Walsh that stayed with the club until O'Neill left in 2000. Think you mean Taylor who didn't want Walsh.

These reactions are pathetic. People need to be patient and stop making childish comments. He will sign and you'll all be kissing his arse as soon as he does. The guy is a legend and will do things at his own pace.

At first I was sure he would sign a new contract with us, now I'm not so confident. Really hope I'm proven wrong though. As others have said though, I think some sort of deadline needs to be in place now. I love the guy but we can't just sit about twiddling our thumbs forever until he decides one way or the other.

You know what's fourth officials excuse will be if he does not sign though.... because of the new manager so please do not fall for it.

He said it after Ranieri had joined though.

Would people rather we demand an answer now and get a no or be patient and get a yes?

We've known we'd need at least 1 more CM whether Ec stays or not all summer and we haven't got one in. If we are short of numbers when the season starts it'll be the club's own fault.

This has been going on so long we can now call it Cambiassogate.

It was never going to be announced until the manager returns from Austria and has met with EB and the marketing/media team.

I'll go for Wednesday.

Absolute zero chance that is going to happen
