foxes_rule1978 Posted 16 March 2016 Posted 16 March 2016 Yeah, he may have won la liga 3 times, Bundesliga twice, European Cup twice and a couple of Club World Cups, but can he tactically out-smart Tony Pulis on a wet Tuesday night? It is going to be interesting to find out, he wouldn't have come up against such anti-football before
Corky Posted 16 March 2016 Posted 16 March 2016 Did anyone here Barton take Danny mills apart on the radio. Apparently we have no chance in Europe and no one will watch the charity shield if we are in it. They won't if it goes to penalties and left footed players take any.
StanSP Posted 16 March 2016 Posted 16 March 2016 Well played, Bayern. And that with some serious injury issues in their regular starting XI. I don't say this often, but that's the stuff of Champions. To come back 2-0 and beat Juventus this way shows character. Juve had their own injury problems as well - Dybala, Chiellini, Marchisio all missed tonight.

steveherbe Posted 16 March 2016 Posted 16 March 2016 Just said with Juve losing, England get 4 champs league places for the next 2 years. Good news for us.
MC Prussian Posted 16 March 2016 Posted 16 March 2016 Juve had their own injury problems as well - Dybala, Chiellini, Marchisio all missed tonight. juve were missing far more important players Dybala for one I see your Dybala, Chiellini and Marchisio and raise them by Robben, Badstuber, Tasci, Javi Martinez, Boateng. They had to play Kimmich as a left-back/centre-back. Benatia's just come back from injury. Ribéry's been away for a while. It doesn't get more makeshift for Bayern than that.
BoyJones Posted 16 March 2016 Posted 16 March 2016 Just said with Juve losing, England get 4 champs league places for the next 2 years. Good news for us. My thoughts exactly Steve, just hope one place is not taken by Arsenal, they are not improving our coefficient at all. Never get past the last 16.
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 March 2016 Posted 16 March 2016 Arsenal are so far off Barcelona it's unreal. Tonight, when it went one each, Barcelona just upped a gear. Effortlessly. Arsenal need a change at the helm. They've been very very average for too long. And this inability of Wenger's to get any steel into the team is simply daft.

Juve were without their best defender like Bayern were. The rest you mentioned aren't difference makers
Mikey Posted 17 March 2016 Posted 17 March 2016 Thing is, they pretty much abandoned Pep's style of play as soon as Lewandowski came on. They were just getting the ball to Costa and Coman and getting it in the box - to great effect because of the quality of the wingers and strikers. Really I think Tony Pulis is the real winner here. Pulis 1-0 Pep before he's even come to England.
filbertway Posted 17 March 2016 Posted 17 March 2016 If Arsenal didnt have a bunch of Gumps up front they could probably have had 4 or 5 last night.
foxes161 Posted 17 March 2016 Posted 17 March 2016 they missed chances but you could tell Barca weren't going full speed.
MC Prussian Posted 17 March 2016 Posted 17 March 2016 If Arsenal didnt have a bunch of Gumps up front they could probably have had 4 or 5 last night. they missed chances but you could tell Barca weren't going full speed. It's just a natural continuation of how they come across in the Premier League, they give up too early if things aren't going their way, then revert to provocations and playacting, complaining, contempt towards the referee. You outmuscle Giroud and he turns into a 6ft4 crybaby.
Fox92 Posted 17 March 2016 Posted 17 March 2016 England is the real test. The guy can work wonders with money. Thats his thing. No money probably different outcome You can say that about most managers though.
shen Posted 17 March 2016 Posted 17 March 2016 My thoughts exactly Steve, just hope one place is not taken by Arsenal, they are not improving our coefficient at all. Never get past the last 16. At least they do get past the groups unlike Liverpool, Man Utd and Man City in recent years. Bizarre swipe that
katieakita Posted 17 March 2016 Posted 17 March 2016 When it comes to backbone and pride Arsenal look to about as much as a Tim Henman fist pump
Carl the Llama Posted 17 March 2016 Posted 17 March 2016 When it comes to backbone and pride Arsenal look to about as much as a Tim Henman fist pump Incredibly harsh on Tim.
MC Prussian Posted 17 March 2016 Posted 17 March 2016 boateng yes and robben but he's way past his prime and not the player he was Dybala is one of the best young strikers in football right now. Juve were without their best defender like Bayern were. The rest you mentioned aren't difference makers Bayern has been operating on a makeshift defense longer than Juventus have been without Chiellini or Dybala. Boateng is a big miss for them and even though Benatia has been disappointing as of late but at least been able to make a comeback, together with Martinez, Tasci and Badstuber out, that leaves a massive gap in the back four. Luckily, Lahm can play full-back and Alaba act as a centre-back (although because of his lack of height, not his preferred position). The injury misery on Bayern's side surpasses that of Juventus by far. Let's not forget that Mario Götze was also out for almost half a year prior to getting back onto the bench a short while ago, Ribéry even longer. Personally, I think it's down to either a relentless training regime, the wrong system or the departure of former club doctor Müller-Wohlfahrt.
Dan Posted 18 March 2016 Posted 18 March 2016 Wolfsburg v Real Madrid Barcelona v Atletico Benfica v Bayern Man City v PSG Fairly dour on the whole. Four predictable ties I'd say. Barcelona with in my opinion their hardest possible one.
ScouseFox Posted 18 March 2016 Posted 18 March 2016 tbh it's pretty decent that we'll almost definitely end up with the best four teams in europe filling the four semi final spots.
AKCJ Posted 18 March 2016 Posted 18 March 2016 tbh it's pretty decent that we'll almost definitely end up with the best four teams in europe filling the four semi final spots. atletico > real
ScouseFox Posted 18 March 2016 Posted 18 March 2016 no chance they are better than them at being boring and having torres but they aren't really

Fox in the North Posted 18 March 2016 Posted 18 March 2016 yeah but they're not really are they come onThey have outperformed real quite comfortably this year. Considering the average age of Atleti's squad is around 24 they're a lot better set up than Real at the moment. The galactico policy is playing havoc with cohesion on the board and in the dressing room.Real's goal difference just looks good because they batter the likes of Getafe or Rayo Vallecano 8-0 and then struggle with anyone in the top 8.
