Weller in Tights Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Just got in from work. Had my phone turned to silent at work, I wondered why it kept buzzing, I got out of work and I couldn't believe it. I'll be honest, I've been one of those sitting on the fence with Pearson. A few seasons ago I thought he ****ed up our championship challenge. Then for our promotion season I felt he really got the team playing for him. Last season he got some bits right some wrong. MY WORRY Who do we get to pull this bunch of players together? Whether you are a Pearson hater or not, a lot of the squad were HIS players that really did play for him. I haven't got a clue who would work.
Babylon Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 I was talking about West Ham players? I think you've missed my point. No I undsetand your point, but it's stupid you have no idea who he would want. You are suggesting it's jobs for the boys, I've shown he can scout more than that.
elvisfmcfly Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Good to know you signed up just to call me that. Strangely proud. It's not really about the club. I am, always have been and always will be a Leicester fan, and that was my immediate reaction, more an unfiltered, straight to keyboard synapse spasm. I just sort of want this decision to hit the owners square in the money belt as of right now. Don't flatter yourself I've been on here ages under various names.think before you type ridiculous statements then.dont care who is manager aslong as they do a good job.when Pearson got sacked last time I danced round the living room ,this time I'm a bit subdued, more out of fear than cause I liked the bloke.
Alf Bentley Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 The fact that Lineker immediately expressed incredulity over this is I think quite telling and suggests to me that Nigel is not being usurped by another waiting in the wings. I may be mistaken but in irrespective of friction building from some of the events last season this was very likely an inflammatory irreconcilable conflict, there is nothing in the pipeline and no master plan concerning a successor. That's my instinct, too. Wasilewski, Huth, Fuchs & Schlupp were all NP-approved signings or re-signings, weren't they? Walsh said they'd been wanting Okazaki for months, if not years. Might be wrong but this seems like a "sudden conflict" or "last straw" situation. If it's to do with James Pearson, I'd struggle not to blame NP in part, much as I hate the fact that he's gone. The fans deserve a proper explanation of the reason for this, Not every detail, but the fundamentals. Will we get it in this brave new world of football as business tool, I wonder? Shocking, probably very damaging decision.
ARM1968 Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 If this hasn't been planned and there is no one waiting in the wings it makes very little sense at all. Nigel going postal over something is possible. Owners saying nothing more than European football next season? We can speculate endlessly but we need it clarifying. Just bizarre.
t-s-o Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Don't be shocked to hear the news about Nigel's sacking. I predicted this was going to happen a couple of days ago when my mate was saying Northampton had signed one of the sacked trio, 1 - Your son gets sacked for appearing in a video which was disrespectful to Thai's. 2 - Nigel won't have been happy that his son got sacked. 3 - Sacking him and then re instating him in a couple of hours a few months ago. There was already some conflict with the sacking/re instating him, then the little outbursts in the media, then once the managers son gets involved in that video in Thailand the country of origin of the owners, that was bound to be the end. Good luck to Nigel wherever he turns up next, A shrewd appointment for me would be Sam Allardyce, he will guarantee survival for us. I really really hope we steer clear of Harry Redknapp, used to rate him but since his QPR leaving the day after the window, I really would not want him being in the fight for us, because if he doesn't get his own way he will just jump ship and care not about what happens.
MC Prussian Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 I'm currently working abroad this week. So coming back to the hotel and hearing about the news just leaves a shallow aftertaste in my mouth. For the first time in years, if not decades, I thought we were finally ready to tackle a new season with a long-term goal in mind, with a squad assembled by a management team over the course of more than just half a year. With players working their socks off for the manager and the fans. As disappointed as I am right now, I accept the board's decision, even though I'll never understand it. It can't just be his son's behaviour in Thailand, because his son is an adult and responsible for his own actions. It can't just be the Okazaki signing, because we were scouting him for more than a year already. All I can imagine is a scenario in which the owners (the majority of the members of the conglomerate that own the club) came to the conclusion that they wanted somebody else and that they had enough with Pearson, deeming him unfit for their own ambitions. I can only hope for a similar development like at Southampton, where we do in fact get better from hereon. I couldn't take another relegation in the space of eleven years or so. So, one pawn down, which one(s) to follow...? Farewell, Nigel Pearson. I've defended you against all odds over the course of many a month, you proved me right, you proved a lot of other believers right, you gave us safety in the Premier League, assembled a worthy squad with great teamspirit and you gave us a record-breaking run, an exciting finish to a memorable season. At times, your media persona got the better of you, but I believe you are a good man and that you must be as gutted as the majority of Leicester fans now. I wish you well and may you deliver elsewhere the way you did at Leicester.
21st Century Fox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 The generic soundbites from 'pundits' on twitter are ****ing useless.... Jamie Carragher: "And people ask why the modern player chooses punditry." **** off and use your brain. It clearly doesn't look like a footballing reason.
Dynamogoon Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Perspective please guys. As much as the great escape was a phenomenal achievement, don't forget we were rock bottom at Christmas. I didn't want Pearson to leave but I trust the owners. If Pearson was in dispute with them (which we can all imagine, he's not the easiest man to manage) then they have every right to part company with him. Let's just wait and see who comes in.

I'd be surprised if Carragher has a functioning brain
Kalacs_Orthopedic_Shoe Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 I keep having this Alan Partridge style 'flashback' of Redknapp's droopy face laughing insanely as Top places a warchest on the table in front of him.... Please, please don't send us that jowly, window winding, illiterate, tax dodging cockney ****

It could quite easily be a stupid footballing reason.
Mayofox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 We all would have kept him/sacked him last season, and he will always be remembered for the Great Escape. Don't want to think about replacements now, just want to raise a glass and say "Cheers, Nigel"

We're not all crying. Some of us have ambition. But that's not allowed on Foxestalk apparently how strange for a discussion forum to not allow discussion

Dan Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Them three are up there with Wise for me now. Their utter mongishness has put Pearson in a massive lose/lose situation, and ultimately, Leicester lost. Forget Beckford, Mills and Danns. These three are *****. I just hope we end up playing Northampton, Scunthorpe or Oxford City reserves anytime soon.

But that's not allowed on Foxestalk apparently how strange for a discussion forum to not allow discussion The owner of the forum has been Pearson out on numerous occasions. I was given a temp ban for defending Pearson when he was sacked post Palace. So it's certainly not just a vendetta against people who dislike Pearson.

But that's not allowed on Foxestalk apparently how strange for a discussion forum to not allow discussion I tried to reply to your post (in order to disagree with it... it was nonsense!) but then discovered it had vanished! Maybe it's a case that it would have been better off in this thread, I think there are one or two (daft) pro-board / anti-Pearson posts if you look hard enough. As for your post, I think giving credit for our 14th place finish to players is perfectly reasonable, so long as you remember who signed them.
RowlattsFox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Why would Pearson throw away a premier league job because of 3 players who are not going to make it, even if one is his son. He may never get another premier league job, although something tells me that he isn't bothered about that.
Callabinho Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 I do think that we're done for though now. Ultimately we got here because of Pearson and it would take a huge appointment to carry on his work, for instance a Moyes. However so just can't see it. I think we will struggle to bring in a top name and end up with some half baked championship manager like Dyche and slip to yet another low.
ivarti Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 The Thai owners have done the worst footballing decission ever made. The way NP turned around the season, the way he has recruited New players this summer and how great he has done everything and he is a hero among the players. Schlupp signed a New four year deal and everything looked Bright. What idiots could do this, must be the worst ever decission done in football. I am gutted and terribly saddened by this Methods of decission making that shows how little "small People" can be. They takes Things personal, are big egoes, and just rubishes everything and don't care for the Club at all, not fans, not results nothing. Just their own big egoes. Sad day for football and maybe one of the darkest days in Leicester City footballing history.
Lovejoy Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Initial reaction was feeling gutted. However, the owners have done this club so well, I don't believe they'd have done this without being 100% sure Big Nige was no longer the man. Intrigued by who's next, I don't believe Dyche will be the choice.
