Grey Fox Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 The thought of Preki taking the managers job suddenly make every other candidate we have been linked with seem a lot more appealing. I even include names such as Bradley, Dyche and Lennon on that list, who have all been heavily criticised on here in the last week. Pretty much anyone would be a better choice than Preki though.
splinterdream Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Moyes would be absolutely perfect for the job, would cost though
Aus Fox Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 I've heard if you ask Rachel Riley for vowels and consonants is a specific order she'll just get 'em out.. right there and then! If only we knew the code!! Maybe someone needs to make a Rachel Riley new manager thread? It gave us good luck in out last 8 games now we need as much luck as we can get at the minute! And if it doesn't work, hey it's a better thread to look at than 80 pages of more speculation..
Babylon Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Moyes would be absolutely perfect for the job, would cost though Just can't see him ending his spanish adventure yet. Him or fat Sam still for me, safe pair of hands, capable of getting us into the top half.
Frank to be Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Can't see Moyes wanting it either but that would be a superb appointment.
Mikey Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Moyes would be absolutely perfect for the job, would cost though Agree with that. Would be a decent job for him to get back in the prem too!
ramboacdc Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 new favourite on bet 365 bob bradley. mods! unmerge thread
Finn Claw II Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Moyes isn't going to leave yet. The tinkerman for me, he's the best of an uninspiring lisi
foxholecharlie Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 OK then everyone put a few quid on Moyes, then the bookies will make him favourite. Job done.
ramboacdc Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 OK then everyone put a few quid on Moyes, then the bookies will make him favourite. Job done. don't tempt me. i still have a fiver running on billy davis for that reason!
mullet Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Not imagining he would come but where has Klopp ruled himself out? Did he not say it was pure fantasy? or That might of been a media thing?
SecretPro Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Did he not say it was pure fantasy? or That might of been a media thing? That was the media.
Stevosevic Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Jocelyn Gourvennec coming up now 4th fav Probably because of a few on here
Ricey Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Jocelyn Gourvennec would be a great appointment, but at 10-1I shouldn't think there's anything in it. If the bookies get any sniff that we are interested or have spoken to a manager then they'll be odds on straight away, everything else is just guesswork.
SecretPro Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 This hush hush approach from the owners if ****ING SHIT. TELL US WHAT IS GOING ON AT OUR CLUB PLEASE.
Jordan Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 This hush hush approach from the owners if ****ING SHIT. TELL US WHAT IS GOING ON AT OUR CLUB PLEASE.They're looking for a new manager. What else do you need to know?
SecretPro Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 They're looking for a new manager. What else do you need to know? A denial about Preki to put everyone at ease would be a start.
RowlattsFox Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 This hush hush approach from the owners if ****ING SHIT. TELL US WHAT IS GOING ON AT OUR CLUB PLEASE. The club stated on the Pearson statement that no comment will be made until the recruitment had been completed. They can't provide a running commentary, pretty sure you don't see any club making statements about it until something is finalised. Clubs don't release a statement saying "we are pleased to announce that an unknown American coach will NOT be our manager" The difference with other job vacancies is the lack of information the press are getting, most rumours of shortlists etc come through the press and they don't have a clue which makes it seem like there is nothing happening.
GavT Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Entered the race, a lot of bets flying in and now 10-1................Newcastle previously tried to get him (below) Jocelyn Gourvennec – head coach at GuingampGuingamp are a very small club, but that hasn’t stopped them from beating PSG and Marseilles this season, and Gourvennec is now a top coach in France who is demand, and he’s compared to Jurgen Klopp of Borussia Dortmund in the way he coaches the side. Guingamp qualified for the Europa League this season after winning the Coupe de France last year, and French pundits were concerned their country’s European coefficients would drop, because of Guingamp’s entry. But the opposite happened and Guingamp were the last French club remaining in that tournament and the only one to get through the group rounds. Lyon were eliminated by Astra Giurgiu of Romania in August, while Lille and St Etienne both failed to win a single game during the group stage. Guingamp were eliminated in the round of the last 16 by Dynamo Kiev by a cumulative score of 4-3, after winning their home leg 2-1. Guingamp are currently in 11th place in the French league and Gourvennec, who is still only 43, has grown his reputation over the last five years since he took over at the small French club back in the summer of 2010. Gourvennec began his coaching career in the summer of 2008 after being hired by La Roche VF, a French football club based in La Roche-sur-Yon, Vendee, France and they play in the DH Atlantique league and were sixth in 2009. Jocelyn was only 38 when he took over at Guingamp (who are based in Cotes-d’Armor in Brittany – northwestern France) in the summer of 2010, and the club at that time was in third division in France and they were promoted in his very first year in charge. In the next two seasons he had the team in 7th place in Ligue 2 and then they were again in his third season in charge to the top league in France. So he took only three seasons to get them two promotions, and now they are in mid-table in the French League after winning the French Cup last season, and playing in Europe this season.
Sampson Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Young hungry up-and-coming manager? That's more like it!
Stevosevic Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Doesn't fit the owners profile does it? Altho he does more than Prekkiiiiiii
NewburyFox Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Yes please. This is exactly the kind of manager we should be looking at - one with a track record of building a legacy at a club and is a very realistic target, not someone who will throw money around and is only likely to be here a year or two.
