I honestly have no idea about him. Can forgive one bad job. What's he actually like? Heard the name and seen the face but don't really know anything about him or his style.

66/1 on Betfair lol!

I thought this was a joke, but now I've seen that he actually did say he'd be open to talks....wow.

If we go for Ranieri I'd be very happy. He is an English football nut and follows the Premier League obsessively, so he'd have a head start to the likes of Guus Hiddink when it comes to adjusting. Ranieri could probably name what our most used starting XI was during 2014-15 and would probably have an opinion on what we SHOULD have had as the opening line up. He really does know his stuff.

Also, each time he is looking for a job he goes on about how much he'd want to come back to manage in the Premier League. I'd welcome him with open arms.

His record at Chelsea wasn't too bad if I remember correctly.  I think each of his seasons were better than the last and 3 of them were before the Abramovic era.  I think he only missed out on the title because of Arsenals unbeaten season.

Now THIS would be Sven 2.

Stop with the ridiculous comparison of older successful managers with our less-than-successful appointment of Sven. We were a different club in a different position with a different agenda then, Sven now might have been a good appointment.

Yeah, he even seems to know that without his saying so our owners wouldn't have even known to approach him before settling for Lennon or Cotterill

He got beat at home by the Faroe Islands, THE FAROE ISLANDS. If our wost ever team at their lowest point all had pneumonia and they came up against the Faroe Islands at home they would not get beat!

EDIT: THE FAROE ISLANDS!!!

All I really remember from him was a Sunday afternoon game at Stamford Bridge when their pitch was dreadful. Live in front of the camera, he kicked a divot and said "Look at this, this is s**t". Get him in.

I'm not syre why but Ranieri always makes me smile-he'd make a great stand-up. So my complete lack of football logic says yes. Even if we go down, there might be a few laughs along the way.

Think he's a good manager and am struggling to understand the negativity. Probably one of the best 3 or 4 currently out of work, not too old and has managed in the Premier League along with some huge Italian clubs.

If you're comparing him to Klopp it's not very exciting but he's comfortably the best candidate to have expressed an interest.

Pretty confident the Faroe Islands would have found a way to beat us in March/April 2013.

I don't buy that one bad year after 20 pretty good ones makes you a bad manager. Same was true of Hughes

Surprised an out-of-work manager who's worked with Steve Walsh, Huth AND Cambiasso has slipped under the radar for so long. This place is usually on top of stuff like that.

cos he's so small

Has managed and done well at some of the biggest clubs in Europe. Was well respected at Chelsea. His last club management position was an impressive success. Seems like a good option to me.

Have to say my first reaction was not on your life.

However, ignoring the Greece fiasco - which was the first time he had managed internationally - his record is good. In fact, when you look at his sell at Monaco 2012-2014 - won league 2 and finishing second in league 1. Pretty good if you ask me.

Infinitely better option than Lennon, Lambert, McLeish etc.

I think his record is pretty poor really. Considering all of the top clubs he has managed, he has only really won 2 cups in the last 20 years or so. (in the top flight)
