Claudio Ranieri?

He got beat at home by the Faroe Islands, THE FAROE ISLANDS. If our wost ever team at their lowest point all had pneumonia and they came up against the Faroe Islands at home they would not get beat!

EDIT: THE FAROE ISLANDS!!!

With what's been happening in Greece over the last few years, I can't imagine it's the easiest place to work.

Would you not take any top manager who has ever lost to a minnow in the FA Cup?

I think his record is pretty poor really. Considering all of the top clubs he has managed, he has only really won 2 cups in the last 20 years or so. (in the top flight)

He did a helluva job at Monaco, which is probably more relevant to us.

Monaco are traditionally one of the top 2 or 3 teams in France though so it's not like they didn't have the potential to get back near the top.

if that result is so significant then maybe we should be signing up the Faroe Islands' manager.

Just looked through wiki at his managerial career and such, he's been pretty successful almost everywhere he's gone by the sounds of it. wouldn't be disappointed at all.

Was you reading the same wiki as me? To me he seems to have been sacked pretty much everywhere or resigned!

Only concern would be playing style really. I was a big fan of vintage high-tempo Pearson and I suspect we wouldn't see that under Ranieri

Italian/Spanish chairmen tend to be a bit weird, he was only sacked for doing an actual bad job in his second spell at Valencia by the looks of it

I'm more for this than Guus, but I'm not sure why haha

Same here. I think it's probably linked to the fact Ranieri has actually done well at a team fairly recently (Monaco). Wonder why they let him go though?

cos he looks nicer

I always thought he looked a bit like alistair darling

Can I ask why people are against Ranieri and Hiddink? I'm not really old enough to remember them in the prem but have heard largely posistive things regarding their managerial careers. Just a question as the reaction seems very strong
