Guest Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Jose Mourinho fella lost 2-4 at home to Bradford this season, would you discount him on that basis? yes. i hope the thais aren't seriously thinking of hiring that charlatan
Eastwellfox Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Head is saying no. Never felt that he had a real presence and has seen better days.
BigMicky Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Oddly played players out of position in the champo league semi final, Vernon came on as a right back and crespo as a winger. Claimed by some as a two fingered salute to Roman, as he new Mourinho was taking his job. I'd have him here.
Bettsj2 Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 He's probably popular with players as they all know they'll get a game. #tinkerman
ealingfox Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Record in club management is very good. However playing style would be a massive concern. Our squad is geared towards more or less the exact opposite of his preferred style. Sousa trying to get our 09-10 side (the most hoofball side Pearson put together with us) playing tiki-taka ended very messily indeed.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Same here. I think it's probably linked to the fact Ranieri has actually done well at a team fairly recently (Monaco). Wonder why they let him go though? it's like he had 100 mill to spend or something

Tuna Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 He got beat at home by the Faroe Islands, THE FAROE ISLANDS. If our wost ever team at their lowest point all had pneumonia and they came up against the Faroe Islands at home they would not get beat! EDIT: THE FAROE ISLANDS!!! Shut up. Pearson lost at home to Burton with us and Macclesfield with Hull. One bad result doesn't make or break anything.
nnfox Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 I'm not sure he and Cambiasso always saw eye to eye at Inter. For that reason only, I'm out.
ealingfox Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 They lost to the Faroe Islands again some time after sacking Ranieri so that one's not all on him.
Dan Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 it's like he had 100 mill to spend or something Still took a team from the second tier to second in the league. That isn't exactly bad.
SecretPro Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 WE NEED TO STOP TALKING ABOUT RANIERI NOW BECAUSE IT'S TAKING THE ATTENTION AWAY FROM KLOPP. ALERT ALERT ALERT: KLOPP THREAD IS DRIFTING DOWN THE FORUM
Thracian Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 No thanks. He seemed to have as much personality as a grey day.
Collymore Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 No thanks. He seemed to have as much personality as a grey day. No thanks. He seemed to have as much personality as a grey day. ...and din't speak much English if IRC?
Tielemans63 Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 ...and din't speak much English if IRC? Eeees okaaaayyy Ingleesh yes?
kingfox Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 As Eailing said Greece lost to Faroe Islands again after Ranieri left, Greece are basically shit at everything at the minute. He possesses a decent enough record at the majority of clubs he has managed, Monaco especially where he did a fantastic job & that was quite recent. There's better options but I'd take him over any manager from the Championship.
4everfox Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 I'd take him. He has been successful for a majority of his career, he has experience in relegation battles if its needed and his main strength is building a good team which he has done on numerous occasions throughout his career. The only standout failure of his career is Greece and that was also his only non-club job. If its Ranieri, Hiddink or Klopp I'd be more then satisfied.
EnglishOxide Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Ranieri would be a better appointment than Hiddink. Hiddink is 68 and winding down. Heart probably isn't in it anymore. Ranieri has basically just issued a 'come and get me' plea. That indicates he is hungry to get stuck into the Prem. 1. Klopp 2. Ranieri 3. Hiddink I hope we get either of the top 2. I will be satisfied with 3 but would never have swapped him in for Nigel if he was still employed by us. Klopp or Ranieri are clear upgrades though.
Strokes Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 He has been sacked quite a few times for a supposed good manager.

How would you feel if we got none of these and ended up with Lennon?
gerrytaggart Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 When asked about the vacant managers job at Leicester City Ranieri was quoted to say "if football be the food of love...play with my balls". Im undecided.
FireFox Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 When asked about the vacant managers job at Leicester City Ranieri was quoted to say "if football be the food of love...play with my balls". Im undecided. Is he decided though? On shaven or unshaven?
STUHILL Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 hmm not sure on this one. His record is pretty good and I like reading from one poster that he is obsessed with English football, plus he has managed in the Prem before. Still got quite a good status in the game although similar to Hiddink, perhaps tarnished in recent years, but probably only reason we could realistic get either here. I would put him on par with Hiddink as although not as big a name in the game, he is younger and has come out and said he would happily listen to what we have to say, which shows desire to manage us. Lets be honest though, no one has a bloody clue, not the fans, not the bookies and probably not the owners unfortunately! Lets all keep enjoying dreaming of Klopp until we get knocked back down to earth with a genuine bit of info.
