FOXES CLOSE TO SIGNING

Claudio Ranieri says Leicester City are close to completing a deal and it could be done before the end of the week.

Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ this evening, the Leicester manager said: "We are looking, we are very close with a good player.

"Esteban (Cambiasso) is a fantastic player and difficult to replace, but we are very close, wait until the end of the week."

Just seen the interview that's hardly worded right.

Sounded more like he is close with a couple of players not just one.

I would imagine this is Aranguiz

Article which states we're a priority in negotiations with him also says we've given them 72 hours, so yes, it's looking that way

But the replacement For Esteban has to also be a leader?

This summer has left me very frustrated so (for once!) i am very much out of the loop regarding news-can please somebody correct me if im wrong.

Chester-late 8mil bid accepted from us but looks set to join WBA?

Kante-still non the wiser/still messing us about?

Veretout- similar situation to Chester, late bid accepted but looks set to join Villa? (have we definitely made a bid)

Aranguiz-had a bid accepted by his parties but is holding out for a move to Germany?

Veretout bid hasn't been accepted & Regarding Aranguiz, inter & the businessman who own his shares want to sell him to a perm side so they can make a profit. But all we actually do know really is that CR has said that a replacement was hard for Cambiasso, however we are close to a very very good player & should hear more at the end of the week.

Hope this helps :)

i would guess any deal for Araanguiz would be a very long drawn out procedure i imagine the "very close" signing to be a free agent or one of the 3 freench targets (veretout mendy or kante), at least we now know its imminent ish, hope its complete before Brum game.

FOXES EYE CAMBIASSO REPLACEMENT

Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri says he is close to signing a replacement for Esteban Cambiasso.

The midfielder played a crucial role in the Foxes’ survival last season but is now moving on, while Ranieri told Sky Sports News HQ he has identified an unnamed target who he hopes will join this summer.

“We are very close (with a replacement). But I wait until the end of the window.”

I don't really understand "we are very close, but I wait until the end of the window"? If we're close, then why the end of the window, or am I being dopey?

If its the quotes from radio Leicester, he said signings by the end of the week.

I would guess that we might see a younger midfielder come in now and the big name one closer to the end of the window.

It's bizarreville. anything at the end of a window is almost always an agent lead deal, rather than relying on months or years of research & negotiation, it comes down to highest bidder for any old shit

Obviously there are exceptions

Frank Lampard any takers? Possibly available on loan, knows and likes Ranieri, worthy of being described as a Cambiasso replacement.

I just jizzed at the thought. Doubt it though
