Stuntman_Mike Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 If they were that embarrassed they'd be singing those songs themselves, but they're actually there to support their team so they don't. Like I say, I just find it weird more than anything else that we'd spend that much time singing about him. It's not like he's ever particularly wronged Leicester before. I agree. It was similar to Sunderland away last season when we're on the brink of arguably the greatest escape in PL history and there was a group near me who were only interested in getting the Adam Johnson chant going.. Yeah give him stick when he's on the ball, or taking a corner or something but it felt like that is all they'd come for! Strange.
Filbert_Ross Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Couldn't care less about McClean but that tackle by Morgan on him was brilliant.
Bamba's Babes Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 I was embarrassed... ... to be apart of the away end yesterday due to the small minded morons chanting anti-IRA songs. Unfortunately it wasn't a minority, it was the majority and at one point 'feck the IRA' was sang immediately after a goal... what is that all about? James McLean, who obviously these chants were aimed at, isn't a supporter of the IRA so the chants were actually ridiculous. If you took part, go do your research.

Dan Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 I can't get my head around how anti-IRA stuff and anti-McClean stuff was sang with more passion than any Leicester song.
MPH Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 I can't get my head around how anti-IRA stuff and anti-McClean stuff was sang with more passion than any Leicester song. Don't agree with the anti IRA song at all.. But people are clearly insulted by him refusing to wear a poppy. That's why they were sung with such venom..
Captain... Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Why wasn't Danny Simpson wearing a poppy on his shirt? He strangled it off.
cc_star Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Poppy Hitlers are twats Wear, don't wear... Do what you want I wear my Poppy with pride, but freedom of choice/expression & the right to live your life free is everything that's worth fighting for!
Weller in Tights Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Don't agree with the anti IRA song at all.. But people are clearly insulted by him refusing to wear a poppy. That's why they were sung with such venom.. Other players didn't wear a Poppy, should the City fans have included songs about them? I don't think Ulloa had one his shirt for example. Should we have sang Anti-Argentinian songs? It was his personal choice because of his cultural heritage, we should therefore be big enough to respect his decision. Poppy Hitlers are twats Wear, don't wear... Do what you want Agreed I wear my Poppy with pride, but freedom of choice/expression & the right to live your life free is everything that's worth fighting for!
Strokes Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 I wasn't there but I would have joined in. I'll never forget the terror the IRA inflicted over here and a chance to join in an anti IRA song will always be welcome. Couldn't give a toss about McLean, he is just a little twat really.

Couldn't give a toss about McLean, he is just a little twat really. What exactly had the IRA to do with yesterday ???? Explain ?
Strokes Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Spot on What exactly had the IRA to do with yesterday ???? Explain ? Pretty sure I just did.

Research requires a little bit of intelligence I was thinking what If west brom started singing anti Al Qaeda songs at Riyad there would be up roar ! But singing anti IRA songs at Irish People is cool it seems
GaelicFox Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Pretty sure I just did.No you didn't chap You said you would sing anti IRA songs if there yesterday I ask again what was happening yesterday that involved the IRA ???? I understand the history I lived it all my life , don't need a lesson in pain and suffering and the evils of terrorism I know it only too closely But I'd like you to articulate clearly to me what had the IRA to do with yesterday ?? I would like to understand
Guest MattP Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Here here Strokes. Anti Irish songs are totally wrong but no Brit should ever be shy about singing an anti IRA song considering the savagery those bastards inflicted on our people. Can folk please stop saying our players weren't wearing them either, they all wore them at the start but some replaced shirts at half time. Fair play to all the Argies around the EPL who all wore these shirts despite recent conflict, it seems to be only James McClean that wants to go back to an awful era of conflict, he wasn't boooed yesterday just for not wearing a poppy, he's booed for a continued recalcitrant attitude to anything British. If I played for a Boca I'd wear a tribute to Argentine soldiers, I'd never refuse to let alone turn away and deliberately disrespect an Argentine anthem. He's a young man who had a lot to learn

Living in the past looks like your stuck in it in your Sergio trackie
Finnegan Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 "The savagery those bastards inflicted on our people." Reeeeaaally want to go there in regards the Irish and our armed forces? Absolutely not condoning the actions of the provos in the slightest but you're an English guy complaining about an Irish guy not wearing a poppy whilst also getting behind singing anti-IRA songs at him for doing so, despite the fact he has no connections to terrorist activity. Pretty sure the average member of his hometown community probably has more reason to hate the English than the average man from Leicester does to hate them.

He is a moron Fanatical Islamic terrorism is real and here NOW Then don't sing songs about Al Queda or Mohammed ....because they are scared That's the truth ! Scared shitless Combat 13 seems to be alive and kicking in a very few small minds
Guest MattP Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Great stuff drop of Claridge, real incisive robust reply. I'm actually of Irish heritage as well btw. Yes Finners happy to go there, if you really think McClean wouldn't have sympathy with the provos I'll leave you to it, it's a level of naivety I quite simply can't be arsed with anymore. But you keep on "not defending it" - that list isn't half getting longer mate.
Guest MattP Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 It's Combat 18 you dippy twat if you really want to invoke godwins law at this stage. Jesus Christ, see you later, never put anyone on ignore on here but you deserve it.

Obviously wasn't your brains Provos what the feck would you know about Provos ha ha ha So every irish man who doesn't face the Union Jack and doesn't wear a poppy is a PROVO sympathiser ??? That would make about 4m of US ! Grow up you moron , visit your Irish family and see the warm welcome you get and the great time you will have But NONE of them will be pinning a poppy on THIER chests and none of them will supporting the Provos Ignorance is your issue When your brave enough to start of the anti Muslim anti Al Queda chants then I'll nod my head in your direction It's Combat 18 you dippy twat if you really want to invoke godwins law at this stage. Jesus Christ, see you later, never put anyone on ignore on here but you deserve it. There you go I knew would know that Surely you have an EDL march somewhere today
Guest MattP Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 And there we go...well done mate Give me a nod when I'm on the EDL march that apparantly doesn't dare chant against Muslims, different to what I've seen but there you go.
