Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 Professionally, Nigel. Personally, also Nigel *sobs*
ScouseFox Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 I voted Pearson but I guess it could depend on cambiasso's replacement. If ranieri does well then Pearson won't be a huge loss. If we have to play Tom Lawrence in midfield then losing Esteban will have killed this club.
Nalis Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 Because one has been replaced and one hasn't, at the moment our team looks very weak in midfield, but we have a very experienced manager in front of our already existing back room staff to replace Pearson. Basically this, which is why I've voted Esteban.
Captain... Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 How is this even a thing????? A record of continual improvement over a period of years, sustainable building with players not mercenaries, performing week in & week out, a great mentality of never giving up, going the extra mile, team ethic, the whole is greater than the individual, everything combined is quite rare in football. Shame we've threw it away on the roll of a dice, even if that roll of the dice does work out which hopefully it does. Vs A legendary player who had a great final quarter of a season with us, then blew us out. If the poll said Huth, it may have been worth thinking over IMO Christ, anyone who votes Cam neads a head transplant. Cambiasso needed replacing anyway whether he stayed or departed Cambiasso is a lot harder to replace, his experience, ability and class is going require one hell of a new signing to replace. Pearson, as great as he was for us was, can be replaced much more easily. He has already been replaced by a man with a lot more experience, he could be described as a better tactician, he has more experience than Pearson in the Premier League and at operating at the top level of club football. Whilst Pearson has left, his legacy; the squad, the sport science department, Walsh, Shakespeare all remain. Ranieri is more than capable of repeating Pearson's success. The question is not, who will you miss the most, nor who do you wish was still he the most, not even which is the biggest loss long term, it was whose loss will negatively impact the coming season. So in terms of whose loss will negatively affect our season more, it is Cambiasso as he is virtually irreplaceable as a player and an influence on and off the pitch, Kante, Mendy or whoever comes in may be great players, but it will not be the same as lining up alongside a legend like Cambiasso.

Agreed. We are now desperate for at least two very good midfielders, and should do our utmost to get them. The 3 we are left with will get 'knocked over' literally and metaphorically next season. They are simply not strong enough.
CPW22 Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 Big Nige - I was convinced that he'd be here for years to come. League one to the premier league, with first season survival, is one hell of a record.
JadeFalcon Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 for me the bigger loss is Cambi, due to the fact we dont seem to have somebody with his flair with the ball and his commanding over the players around him, this command is what we will miss the most in the coming season, i forget the amount of times he kept our team in shape to fight back after going a goal or two down. i AM truely sad that cambiasso has left, it will be hard to fill his boots, Pearson was great for us, and it is a massive loss to lose two of the most influential people are our club. I am no doom monger but the hope for a killer season has just lessened in my oppinion
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 Cambiasso is by far the bigger loss, imo. He was the key player in the side, and in Ranieri we have a far wiser man, with a wealth of experience, who wont make a total ass of himself, and bring the club into disrepute, as Pearson did, with his puerile antics.

You're going to feel very silly when we replace Esteban with Joey Barton.

Donut Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 You dont know that Pearson is/would have been a "loss". Youd never have known what Ranieri would have done with his team, and we dont know how we will do this season. If we score more points than last season it wont be a loss. So im going to say until we find someone who can fill his boots, Cambiasso. For now.
Donut Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 You're going to feel very silly when we replace Esteban with Joey Barton. What does this post mean? You want the club to bring in Joey Barton to prove a point to a forum poster that he was wrong that Cambiasso was a bigger loss than Pearson?
dedlock Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 A very odd poll. Our manager has gone and a new manager is in place.Sorted. A key player announces 2 weeks before the new season he will not take up the offer of a new contract. No obvious replacement, midfield needs strengthening in any event.Until quality midfielders are recruited the loss of EC is obvious.I hope those quality recruits arrive soon, including the good team leader that CR referred to. If so the question will, hopefully,be irrelevant.
Captain... Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 But be gone inside the year. I really don't get this kind of comment on 2 levels. Why do you think the owners would be quick on the trigger when they had almost endless patience with Nigel and his record breaking runs of poor form and his PR disasters? Why are you writing off a successful and vastly experienced manager brought in to continue Nigel's good work, and not rip it out and start again, before he has even had a competitive match?
Unabomber Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 Cambiasso is by far the bigger loss, imo. Stop belittling Nigel's achievements you pathetic troll
Corky Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 Who cares, they were both shit. Claudio and Deano to take over.
Clever Fox Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 It clearly has to be Pearson. Simply because Managers set the standards to help move Clubs forward. Pearson has clearly done that over the years with us. Has he made mistakes, of course he has, too many which were obvious to some. But success is measured by progress and on that front Pearson can be proud of what he leaves behind. It's sad the way it ended but that's football for you. Ranieri, do I think he will be a success with us. Yes I do simply because he has a proven track record of success, He has proven he can handle big named players. I also think he is more tactically astute than Pearson was. So yes I think he will be a big success here. Would I have Pearson back tomorrow, in a heart beat I would, simply because he believed in us as a project worth investing in. Setting foundations that would have guaranteed success for years to come. Cambiasso for all his talent was just a player, and players come and go all of the time. But the Team has to continue on.

So wise he pissed of the player you now say is such a loss, at inter that he has left. Nige may have been a knob to the media, but the players played for him and what he laid in place for the long term good of the club is more than one player can ever offer. However magic that one player was for 4 months.

However magic that one player was for 4 months. More Lies! This is what I don't get, be pissed off that Nigel has gone, but stop spreading lies. This isn't aimed at you, bayfox, it has been spouted by many since Ranieri's name has been linked you are just repeating something that others have been passing off as truth, and it is not true on more than one level. There is no evidence they fell out, Cambiasso played plenty of times under Ranieri, there was one incident where he was subbed along with another player, he was pissed off at being subbed one game, one that Inter went on to win, he carried on playing for Ranieri. Secondly, he was given a contract offer before his ran out, he chose not to sign it then when Pearson was still in charge and refused again when Ranieri was in charge, it is a lie to link the two, and one that is serving just to try and discredit OUR manager.
gurru991 Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 Nigel was always going to get fired, it was just a matter of time. People with that kind of F U attitude will self destruct eventually. Cambi was always leaving, the fact that he didn't sign at the end of the year indicated that. If the future of our club hinges on NP or EC leaving the we were hooped anyway. Our future remains very bright even without these two

There's, a, surprise,.
TMELcfc Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 Cambiasso didn't re-sign, because of Ranieri? Who knows, but let's just say I'd be looking forward to this season more if both were still here.
Rushden fox Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 Clearly Pearson, cambiasso wouldn't have been here without him. Also it would have been a big ask for Cambo to perform a second season like that. People would have worked him out. Pearson however, who knows what antics he would have got up to..I'm sure he didn't even know. I vote pearson
MONreborn Posted 8 August 2015 Posted 8 August 2015 Lets see how we get on without these 2 legends! Come on you foxes. Lookign forward to the match and the 7th minute show of appreciation for big nige!
dylanlegend Posted 8 August 2015 Posted 8 August 2015 People need to stop wanking over Cambiasso. He had one good season for us. Nige performed and improved season upon season. The fact that NP signed a player of Cambiasso's calibre proves NP is the bigger loss. Nige was also very loyal to LCFC Cambiasso was not. Cambiasso was a foot soldier, an excellent footsoldier but one that is easy to replace. When the "Don" is replaced it is much harder to predict how they will perform if future. People saying a player is a bigger loss than a manager in the top 3 of best managers ever for LCFC should've gone to specsavers quite frankly.
