The concern is that in my opinion we NEED 4 new players, 2 CM and 2 CB atleast.

Your suggestion does not take the club forward though does it, so we might aswell have stuck with pearson, Clearly we are looking to sign players, and i'm positive we will see 3-4 players arrive, which is why i'm concerned with the time left.

Yes we might as well have stuck with Pearson, wish the owners agreed.

Be very happy to stand still and finish in the same position as last season to be honest.

For those who went - how did Chilwell do?

Oh I agree, I said on another thread I think this should be a 8-10 year plan not a 5 year plan, there's lots of risks with throwing money at players and rushing it all, and southampton/swansea aren't really realistic models to follow, they are very fortunate to have had it all work out for them.

I'll be honest I'm more confident of us reaching the next level under Ranieri than Pearson, but finishing same again this year will be a success for me, providing we do it in better fashion rather than a repeat of last year!

Chelsea he finished 2nd only to the Invincibles, Juventus sacked finishing 3rd and then 2nd after promotion, successor finished 7th, Monaco sacked finishing 2nd after promotion, successor finished 3rd

And your point is ???

On the continent, managers get sacked all the time

Chelsea sacked him cos they got mourinho

If he was getting sacked from lower league clubs then you might have something to point out but look at the names on that list

Chelsea - Sacked for taking them from 15th to 2nd

Monaco - Sacked for coming 2nd behind PSG who spent hundreds of millions more than anyone in the league

Greece, Absolutely FINISHED anyway

Inter Milan - done a pretty good job considering they've been crap since.

Roma - Done a good job. Crap since.

Just a bit of gallows humour to fit the general mood on FT.

In all seriousness I am cautiously optimisitc about CR but getting more and more concerned daily by the lack of signings and preperation.

This was my only concern, Realistically the biggest signings we need is the Midfield, It's the control centre of the pitch and we need to be strongest in this area to control the team and try to control the matches... Those players need to gel with EVERYONE (obviously everyone needs to gel but the CM are in direct contact with everyone) And it does worry me that we don't have those top players sorted, HOWEVER, I'd rather Ranieri takes his time and gets the right players in. Just all bad timing to be honest.

I wouldn't get too carried away with the Chilwell hype, yes he looks a good prospect, but remember last pre season so did James Pearson

I don't remember anybody really saying he looked great last season, just getting carried away because of that screamer he scored

Every time I personally have seen chilwell he has been solid, pearson not so much. You got to give credit where it is due and he hasn't done anything bad yet

When did James Pearson ever look like a good prospect?
