I cant really see the rest of the squad getting too arsey about a player who has done what this guy has this summer, getting paid more than them.

Most of those players are still here - and still seem as close as always. The new signings so far all seem to fit into the same mentality also.

If you've only got one or two unsettled players then it's not so much of an issue - the rest of the team will undoubtedly make them feel welcome and there is a good chance that over time new signings will start to buy into that mentalist - even if only slightly.

The person that had toxic elements to his personality has been removed and this is coming from a big Pearson fan.  I think too much is being built up on the team spirit and togetherness.  Pearson tinkered when he didn't need to and then stuck with the same choices when it wasn't working.

Aranguiz is a leader who just like Cambiasso will make players raise their game, if others feel put out then they need to look at themselves.

I remember MON saying that players don't mind other players earning more than them if they know they are better. It's when the better player is on less wages than the weaker player that it becomes an issue.

If we bought Messi and paid him £500k a week none of the players would moan but if we bought Austin on £80k a week and Ulloa was keeping him out the side then the players resent it.

£50k a week isn't even relatively absurd anymore. I'd imagine players like Mark Noble and Jonjo Shelvey are probably on something not too dis-similar.

If I was in charge I'd pay £10.6mil and £50k a week for Aranguiz if he really is as good as they say he is.

I think steering wheel (Volante in Spanish and Portuguese) is the players nickname, it crops up too often to be coincidence. Could also mean fly wheel.. Or "the wheel". He is renowned for running the midfield, so being the steering wheel kinda makes sense.

It's a footballing term for the kind of midfielder he is.

It was already confirmed by the Brazilian fella. Its a term that means a midfielder that steers the team. Apparently it was used for Cambiasso as well.

...but don't let that ruin the fun.
