Heymister2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Watching the YouTube video as you do he looks like an accomplished defender! Also regular rumours of Leicester scouts watching Atalanta last season! I trust there judgement on this one
chicagofox Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Why does anybody care what fee we pay for any player and/or what wage we pay any player? Seriously, why do you care? We have owners who have proved that they are financial prudent. If this is a player the management team want to sign then why does it matter if we pay 1 million or 7 million? We're not going to pay what we can't afford. If we lost out on this player to a rival because they paid 500,000 more people would be losing their shit over that too. And all of these know-alls who are judging him based on stats, grow up. Football isn't played on a spreadsheet it is played on a pitch.
whetstonefox Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 You can never really get excited about signing defenders, all you want is for them to instil solidity and confidence in those around them and in the stands.
Mungongo Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Goal last season for Atalanta http://youtu.be/epuOOPHQiRs

Sly Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 I will see you with 14 million for Jordan Rhodes I raise you £5m for Akinbiyi

AKCJ Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 I'm sure he'll settle in fine and give his best for us. But you have to admit, it's worrying that none of the four players we've had bids accepted for haven't exactly been thrilled about it.

Buce Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Andy Carroll 35 million! Ballotelli. You'd want change from a fiver.
VLC86 Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Should have got them to throw in German Denis as well for that price.
KP Fox Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 If we are going to continue with 3 at the back, which 3 are going to start?
dedlock Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 I raise you £5m for Akinbiyi That's what worries those with long enough memories!
Will1981 Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Yeah, very true. If they were quoting Football Manager, that would give them more credibility! how he compares to our other CB's on football manager Morgan 130/134 Wasly 128/132 Moore 124/152 Huth 137/152 Benalouane 128/140
Dan Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 I don't understand Nannypig7 on twitter saying he wont want him as him being upset about leaving his current club means he wont grow an attachment to Leicester. I see it as a positive thing as he will obviously do what is in the best interest of his club and when he comes to us that will mean putting in full effort which is all that really matters. If we go with the mindset of players needing to love the club then why don't we just play local Leicester lads from the youth team as loving the club means they will be the best players for us right? Isn't NannyPig that weirdo that replies to literally every tweet from our official Twitter within seconds of it going up?

If my club keeps buying players that aren't good value they'll suffer long term. If my club keep buying players that are good value they'll prosper long term. Do you not care if the player is worth his fee?

If my club keep buying players that are good value they'll prosper long term. Do you not care if the player is worth his fee? Spot on as usual. I'm well aware it's not my money, but poor investments will eventually catch up with you. For all we know though he could have an absolutely storming season and Spurs come in with double what we've paid in a year's time, so swings and roundabouts. Great business from Atalanta.
enmac Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Said it before, just going on vids, looks like he's more of a footballer than Was, Wes or Huth. Not just a no nonsense defender. Hope I'm right!
Finn Claw II Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 £8m for Chester? It's not a ridiculous fee if the scouts think he is an improvement on what we've got.
RedSoxUK Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Although I'd like an extra CB; for 5.6m or whatever's being quoted, it seems quite excessive. Huth cost about 3m, Morgan 1mish, Moore youth, Wasyl free... I'm feeling a little underwhelmed at the prospect of paying almost twice the fee for Huth for a player who seems (according to his YT vids from my opinion,) half the player. I mean, those clips are supposed to show his strengths but a lot of that looks like weakness, I hope Walshy and co are right with this one, seems a little over the top for a player like Benalouane as a CB. Reminds me of a Watford style buy, or a Sven Matty Mills spend; in Walsh we trust though. Would love for Wasyl to retain his spot in the 11.

Agree with that as well. Can only read so much into defenders based on Youtube videos but it does look like he often feints, which shows pretty decent composure., something I'd not associate our back line with. I'm starting to warm to this one a little. I trust our scouts.
RedSoxUK Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 £8m for Chester? It's not a ridiculous fee if the scouts think he is an improvement on what we've got. That's an excellent point. But we're paying 5.6m for a player who isn't British, and isn't from the Premier League.
