Gokhan Inler

More teams sniffing about him, we'll do very well to get him. West Ham don't concern me as they've just signed Barton and I don't see where he fits in with them but perhaps Bilic isn't happy with his midfield still. Besiktas are the oens that worry me, given his Turkish heritage I can see him being tempted, let's just hope he loves the PL and we're the only real option here.

Mail and Express say decision in 48 hours. We seem to be in the driving seat.

If he has not signed by then I think that reinforces the feeling he does not really want to come in which case we need to move on.

I'm a little concerned that Aranguiz (or whatever) seems to be on his way to BL and if we don't get Inler then we will have put a lot of eggs in two baskets and ended up with nowt. I do think we need to strengthen the midfield so who else is an option?

There were rumours last week, of interest in Selcuk Inan - a central midfielder at Galatasary - but that's all gone a bit quiet since (probably because of all the Aranguiz and Inler talk).  He sounds like he could be just what we want.  Trouble is, Galatasary are going to be unwilling to sell (he only recently signed a long contract with them) and will look for big money.  The upside is, they're in the sh*t financially and might HAVE to sell.

Yep! I'm a little more concerned as we look to have courted these two for over 150 pages.

I was hoping you could advise me who else is an option for midfield.

he may have had a difficult year but nobody can doubt his ability, he would be a massive signing and awesome addition to the squad, the type of player we could only dream of signing a couple of years ago, fingers crossed

Romeu from Chelsea would fit in perfectly if we don't get Inler. I'd also like to see Ake in as cover for central defence.

I've heard they want to get Berbatov and play him CM..box to box, high energy closing down he's perfect.

Am sure the club have that all in hand I'll not assume they've scouted just two players or not at the least contemplated the possibility of their two main targets not signing.
