MGLCFC Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 As many have said before, a v steady player and gave of his best. Who will forget his great strike against West ham just on the stroke of ht that, with the benefit of hindsight, was the catalyst of that great end of season run. Good luck Konch. Think his goal you are on about was against Villa, Cambiasso and King scored against West Ham.
RowlattsFox Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 Bristol City play with wing backs, well they did last season so not really suitable for Konchesky. I think he'll push for a London club, QPR or Brentford or maybe a return to Fulham/Charlton.
DennisNedry Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 Decent player when he first arrived but isn't PL quality and hasn't been for a while. Did score a vital goal in our great escape though. Wish him well. I bet Bristol City rue the day they didn't rob us for Nicky Maynard! He's a free agent now at age 28!
whoareyaaa Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 Served us well, made some errors at times and wasn't the best left back to grace the shirt but he always gave his all and I agree that its time to move on. Best of luck to him.
Soar Fox Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 Anyone know if Cunningham is still at Bristol City? Would be a good move for Konch. Cunningham has gone to Preston. Don't know why Konch gets so much hate. He's been a solid player for us over the years, yes last year might have been a step to far for us but barring a couple of dodgy games for us I thought he did pretty well, especially at the start of the season. Good luck to him wherever he goes, he was part of a team that gave us the best couple of seasons we've had in a long time.
Molly Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 He's been an excellent player for us. Itis time for him to move on. Hope he goes somewhere he wants to be and has a good final season or two. Thanks Paul.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 Cheers Paul, really unfairly maligned by many. Was a decent player for many seasons for us and will do well at a club with slightly lower expectations. Thanks for your time here
psychonaut Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 Never got why he received so much stick - always thought he was one of our most consistent players. Good servant to the club one of the better signings over the last few years.
Fox92 Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 Best years behind him now but Konchesky has been solid enough for us. A few mistakes here and there, nothing out the blue.
ktfox59 Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 Think his goal you are on about was against Villa, Cambiasso and King scored against West Ham.i apologise. Ur correct. A shirt colour, dimenture who knows. . But i was right behind it.
Finn Claw II Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 Decent servant but i'm looking forward to Chilwell developing this season and this move better enables that. Wish him well, I have a soft spot for Charlton so I hope he goes there.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 Great servant for us, haven't got a bad word to say about the bloke. Top professional. Just can't cut it for us no more! Surprised about Bristol City however as they like attacking full backs who swing In a good cross, can see him being back up to Greg Cunningham there.
lestajigs Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 Please god Didn't have to wait long, till an ignorant post like this! Tbf he did make the odd mistake but he has always give it all, a good championship player. Scored a big goal against villa last season . And a stunner against wolves, loved it when he stuck his fingers up to the forest fans in Ablock and kissed the city badge,
Brizzle Fox Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 As someone else has said doesn't seem to fit with how bristol set up - I. e. speedy wing backs bombing crosses in. This is why cunningham left as he couldn't get a game. konch will end up back in London
MC Prussian Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 Maybe it was a typo and it meant to say Bristol Rovers instead of Bristol City.
ousefox Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 Never really understood the hate for him. He was great for us for the first 2 years and good enough for our promoting winning side. I've also heard he's one of the nicest guys around the club and willing to chat to the youngsters quite often.
davieG Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 Always gave of his best, never any trouble, fitted in with the team ethic. Best of luck where ever he goes.
Max Power Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 I know people give him a lot of stick and they're right because he wasn't very good. Bye Paul.
5waller5 Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 Always gave 100% and has decent ability at top Championship kind of level .... That's his level and there's nothing wrong with that. I wish him all the best, and never understood why he got so much stick. For the love of God please avoid the phrase "good servant to the club" .... he was employed here to do a job and did it, he's now leaving and good luck to the bloke.
The Unknown Fox Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 Paul deserves more respect than some are giving him, always gave 100% for the club and I wish him all the best!
The whole world smiles Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 I felt a bit for Paul last season was clearly no longer good enough for the prem, father time had obviously caught up with him, I can't believe we didn't replace him in pre season. But he was here for 4 seasons, in two he was excellent (The first two) in one he was ok (the promotion winning season, so he can't of been that bad) and in one last year pretty terrible. The low points last year in particular were at west ham Passing the ball to the most in-form striker in the premiership at the time (Andy Caroll) leaving him one on one with our keeper and at burnley in a huge relegations six pointer, miss controlling the ball in the penalty area then scything the burnley lad down in the box. All in all though a decent signing and a decent player for us and he seems like a nice bloke, should still be ok in the championship cheers Paul good luck

I've also heard he's one of the nicest guys around the club and willing to chat to the youngsters quite often. City fans have short memories mate its very rare a player leaves and the majority of people have nice things to say about him, yet you see it all the time on other clubs boards.
Thracian Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 Agree entirely with DavieG - Konch has been an excellent and mostly reliable servant during a period of progress which may well have heralded the most exciting period of our history so far. He's played his part and deserves our thanks and heartfelt best wishes for the future.
Jimothy Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 Please god He's been stripped of his squad number and told he's not in the managers plans. I don't think you need to worry about him turning out for us again, even if he didn't get a move this month.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 So Sky Sports News are coping from other media outlets to announce news? Yes, like they have done for some time - what's your point?
