LCFC FOX Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 Any league one or two club away for me! Always a dull home tie though
Kitchandro Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 I'm not as bothered about it as I am the FA Cup but a cup run is always nice, and getting knocked out by a minnow certainly isn't nice. Not great having a home tie in the early rounds cos the stadium will be half empty. Would love a local derby away as we'd probably take loads.
fuchsntf Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 I'd take Cov away for the sheer reason we'll take an absolutely silly number but in terms of the game itself we've got everything to lose. ahhh I see now, you have the leicester city fan virus. pessimismus syndrome.
Stuntman_Mike Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 Let's try and win it! Never understand why people don't take any cup competition seriously.
promised land Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 Forest, Derby of Coventry please Done your research? If like other years, we can't be drawn against a championship club.
Stadt Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 Done your research? If like other years, we can't be drawn against a championship club. Coventry, championship? lol
Dan Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 ahhh I see now, you have the leicester city fan virus. pessimismus syndrome. It's true though. Win it and it's what we were expected to do. Lose it and it's down right humiliating. Though the thought of us taking 6k fans and winning 0-4 is amazing even if it is only a shit side. Done your research? If like other years, we can't be drawn against a championship club. The irony. I'm pretty sure we can as well. It depends who goes through the second round. They split the seeding half way between the highest ranked teams from last season and lowest.

They split the seeding half way between the highest ranked teams from last season and lowest. If it's no more than £20-£25 we could take well over 6,000. Would love it if there were 12,000 Cov and 12,000 Leocester lol
Guest Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 I hope we give this a go this year personally. Last years effort was a disgrace. I think we'll have a strong enough squad that we dont need to play kids. Rotation yes but not a completely new XI.
Nalis Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 I hope we give this a go this year personally. Last years effort was a disgrace. I think we'll have a strong enough squad that we dont need to play kids. Rotation yes but not a completely new XI.Depending on who we get a decent mix would be nice, eg, 5 first team players, 3 fringe players, 3 promising youth team players. For purely selfish reasons I'm hoping for a London away team. Question - Do West Ham still get a bye to the third round even though they've been knocked out of Europe already?
bluesbrothers Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Newport County away please, just because it strikes me as the single least fashionable place we could go and I know a nice B&B there.
narboroughblue Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 I actually prefer this competition over the FA Cup. Perfect chance to give the new guys a chance plus the strikers not starting whilst getting squad fitness up. FA Cup comes after the frantic Christmas period and getting knocked out and the extra few weekends off is never a bad thing. Someone at home from lower leagues and us giving it a good go please.
ramboacdc Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 i like this competition but a long trip away on a school night is hard to justify for it sometimes.
Rincewind Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Give it a go. More silverware and we can order a new Trophy cabinet from a Coventry company. If we do win it, it will be considered insignificant by the media and have a 10 line report on inside pages , if we lose to Man Utd in the final it will be back page headlines.
Devonfox1884 Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Exeter, Plymouth, Yeovil or Bristol away please!
JPM1983 Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Why not give it a go, perfect chance for the fringe players to get game time. Attendances are normally poor, so for that reason an away game might be better. Not too far on a school night though!
Bamba's Babes Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 We can win it. I'm going to the final and it would be nice to see Leicester there!
Bayfox Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 For purely selfish reasons, ie new grounds, I need Exeter away or yeovil away, or somewhere like Brentford, Did martin allen get Barnet back in the league, that would do as well.
Dan Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 I'd be all over Newport away actually. The thing the League Cup has over the FA Cup is the semi finals.
Voll Blau Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Great to see some losers as always insisting it's a distraction etc. Look forward to them not going for final tickets next time we get there.
