Pearson vs. Ranieri

Can we please not go down this road?

Seen so many getting caught up in the hysteria of today's results and saying things like "Ranieri is so much more tactically astute than Pearson" and talking about things they feel are so much better with Claudio than with Pearson.

The point is that without Pearson Ranieri wouldn't be walking in to a Premier League club. Without Pearson he wouldn't have a side including Okazaki, Vardy and Mahrez and he wouldn't have a side playing with the spirit that they do. There's no saying that had Pearson stayed and started this season he wouldn't be doing just as well.

There is just no need to compare the two and, even if there were, it's still far too early to be doing so.

Let's just all remember that when Taylor walked in and took over O'Neill's side for a while they carried on as they were until he slowly brought in more players and eroded away everything that was good about that side. Ranieri hasn't made too many changes yet but that's not to say that he won't as time goes on. With each Benalouane and Inler that come in, we move further away from Pearon's LCFC and maybe can compare then.

For now, let's respect what Pearson achieved, be glad that Ranieri's had a good start, but not get too caught up in a one vs the other debate.

Respect should always be given to both men. Before the season Ranieri was being slated even though he hadn't officially started and its not his fault that NP was sacked. Likewise NP has done a fantastic job and is probably our best manager on stats. He transformed the club from league one and those are things we should never forget as fans.

CR looks a good appointment so far, but that doesn't mean we slag NP off because the core of this team is still the one he has built. Anyway onwards and upwards.

I was hoping for a poll or a theoretical cage fight.

Pearson V Ranieri with 5 wild dogs -  Live on Channel 3 - Latvia . Claudio would release the dogs tactically but it would be a close fought battle.

What Pearson achieved at this club will never be forgotten, from L1 to the Prem and to be under so much pressure to make sure we stayed up last season he was a great manager, but obviously he is still learning who knows if it wasn't for that incident he may well still be here.

What Ranieri has done so far has impressed everyone and he looks to be capable of taking over and building on from what Nigel Pearson created.

I thought they'd be comparisons with Taylor's start. The situation is completely different, however. Even when we top of the league, it was clear to most supporters that the Taylor team was significantly weaker than O'Neill's. We were top due to some sterling performances by Tim Flowers and the O'Neill back 3, but had Akinbiyi and Benjamin up front. When the wheels started to fall off it was hardly a surprise.

This season we have as much better squad that this time last year, and a manager that seems to be able to utlilise it well.

To summarise the OP.

I really liked Pearson and didn't expect we would make this kind of start under Ranieri, so I just want to remind you of all the things Pearson did so you all don't forget him.

Slumps are not Ranieri's forte. What he tends to do is not even have a slump in his first year at clubs and then he resigns or gets the sack the next! Haha

Even if Pearson was better (i dont believe that he is) we've no longer got him and we have to move forward, the owners want big results so they'll buy the squad we need regardless of the manager i rekon :)

Just continuing Nigel's great work with Nigel's staff and players! We were playing exceptional football in the last ten games! Ranieri even said he's scared to change anything

Are you Garth Crooks?

His comments after the game were basically giving all the credit to Pearson, with no mention of Ranieri.

There are a fair few pundits out there, not best pleased with the start we, and more to the point Ranieri has made, because it is showing them up for the "no idea about what goes on outside of the big clubs" numpties that they really are!

Long may it continue!

Mr Pearson was comissioned by a man from the orient to paint him a masterpiece , the novice painter went into the art shop and bought some lovely paints and brushes for his apprenticeship , he worked on them hard and eventually after trial and error and the odd F**k off and die comment he painted a very stunning painting , a painting admired by many. A painting that retained its value.

BUT the man from the orient who commissioned the painting by Mr Pearson decided his painting needed something or someone with a little more finesse , someone with an eye to create a template for a masterpiece and not afraid to use the finest of expensive paints to work with , this man was to be an Italian.

Mr Ranieri had been commissioned to paint all over Europe , he was known to change his style and his colours regularly to tinker with his paints , his last commissioned work was a little bit of a let down but the Man from the orient felt this Italian painters eye and his hand for creating beauty had not diminished.

So the the Italian master painter was hired and he took the brushes and paints belonging to Mr Pearson and replaced him at the canvas and may just be on the verge of painting a masterpiece

I need to lay off the stella !

The real test will come, as ranieri said, when we go through a rough spell.

And his 'tinkering' thus far has been a success. Bringing on kante, benny and fuchs has killed our opposition in both games thus far.
