st albans fox Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 Kante and Kramaric in for Okazaki and King. We have quality in depth so lets use it. We can always bring shinji on to inject some energy into the front line when the game becomes stretched. I expect shinji will be rested after the international break (I assume he will have a long trip) so expect him to survive this weekend. he could be dropped if Claudio decides to change the shape but I think he will look at Bournemouth and think we match up pretty well in formation so can take them on, man for man, shape for shape.
les-tah Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 i always think one of Shinji or Vardy are perfect for a second half subs to come on and terrorise defenders on their last legs. But we are deploying both from the start. Dont no whether anyone agrees.

But we are deploying both from the start. Dont no whether anyone agrees. I do agree, but I also think they are our best strike force in general. So I agree with starting them. If Kramaric can step up and usurp one of them in the 11 then great; we have a perfect impact sub. Until then start your best team.
Captain... Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 i always think one of Shinji or Vardy are perfect for a second half subs to come on and terrorise defenders on their last legs. But we are deploying both from the start. Dont no whether anyone agrees. I tend to agree both have looked knackered around 70 minutes, it may be better to have them as interchangeable and play up front with Krama or Ulloa to play further forwards and hold the ball up more. In some ways it parallels last season's start we were all action gung ho, chasing every ball and throwing ourselves in front of everything at the back. I think a few of us said it was unsustainable and Pearson agreed, changed things and we went to shit. So be careful what you wish for. Kante could be key in this, he is very similar in the way he chases everything and harasses the player on the ball, with him on the pitch in the middle playing that way then we will have an extra body playing the high pressure game, having 3 players running round like that may be too much, so if Kante is on, do we need both Shinji and Vardy doing the same thing. Kramaric and Ulloa aren't lazy, and do their share of pressing just not at the same tempo, having one of them up front with Vardy/Shinji and then Kante being the terrier in Midfield and Inler/Drinkwater/King as the more composed ball player could work. The alternative is a 4231, neither Shinji nor Vardy play how the 1 should in this formation, they would naturally be in the 3 supporting a main striker. Kramaric/Ulloa upfront with 3 from Mahrez, Vardy, Okazaki and Albrighton behind playing as a fluid and flexible attacking trio could work, with Kante getting forwards whilst Inler sits. Argh!!! so many options, so many talented players, a good headache to have.
Juvenile Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 Kante needs to start, we are giving teams too much possession, they have not done much with it so far but I'm sure there will come a time when we have 30% and a team puts a few past us. In a few weeks I am hoping Inler can partner him in the middle, yes we are great on the counter, but if we control the game we have the players to hurt teams from deep positions.

The 'Italian tactical way' as we've seen already is let teams have the ball and hit them on the break. If we were conceding screamers from 25 yards out from not pressing the ball, or being opened up by a killer ball into the box I'd say we're giving teams too much time in the final third, but at the moment I think we're doing just fine. Saturday we'll have 30% of the ball max imo.
HighPeakFox Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 I'd like to see 352 - for me, we don't have the full backs to cope with a back 4. Load the midfield with quality and let Mahrez roam
Juvenile Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 Against Tottenham they had players in great positions they were just poor in my opinion. I thought King and Drinkwater were not close enough, and if Spurs were playing with abit of confidence they should have tested Kasper a lot more. Let's not forget we still haven't kept a clean sheet, most teams will look at Leicester and think there's goals for both teams in this. Are we though? They will start to keep the ball and move it quickly across the field and get cocky. We will catch them in any midfield error pass and break up play to our wing ~ quick ball in and goal. Repeat 3 times and then run the ball into the corner flag for the last 15 minutes.
Finnaldo Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 Sounds like Bournemouth are being heralded as the next big thing when it comes to attacking play, just like Derby were in the 2013/14 season. Remember what happened to Derby that January? Probably a lot better than what was a rather overrated Derby team but still I feel we have exactly the kind of players they'll struggle against in midfield in Kante and, should he play up to his best, Inler. If our midfield is up to it, then I can see 3-0/1, chances are if they score it'll be Wilson or Pugh.
TJB-fox Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 Hope we bring these back down to ground. I'd match them up 442 knowing that man for man we have the quality to beat them. Looking forward to seeing Mahrez against Charlie Daniels.
Max Power Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 Think we'll rinse these losers on the break. 0-2 (Vardy, Mahrez)

Repeat 3 times and then run the ball into the corner flag for the last 15 minutes. Bournemouth will play it across the back, probe down a wing, recycle and continue until they lose possession. They've been that way for 3 or 4 seasons now. Works great when you have technically better players than the opposition, but they haven't been able to break teams down readily without getting assists from the other team like they did at Upton Park. As long as we're disciplined and understand their game plan and how we can impose our game on them, we should be OK.
Thracian Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 King's been almost ever present in what must now be the best run of results in all Europe, or very close, since the beginning of April...and he's played consistently well. Against Spurs on Saturday, with the team in a tactical straight-jacket, he was one of the few players who managed to retain possession whatever the pressure....and not for the first time. I agree about the need to include Kante - he's been the most impressive of our new signings by a distance so far. Inler will doubtless be picked but he's been notably hit and miss. His talent is clear but he makes so many risky passes I can see him costing us at times and, to me, losing possession through unforced error is the cardinal sin of Premiership football. We'll need alert, accurate passing and calm heads against Bournemouth because I don't see them in any way mirroring the rigidly massed ranks of containment we'll likely employ. They'll be in our faces from the off and trying to score goals. We've got pace and pressure potential in our own side but I'm not convinced we'll use it. For all that high-speed, well-supported counter attacks have been the key to our own success, I'm not yet convinced that Ranieri's bought into it. Against Spurs we were little more than spoilers. Certainly there were few signs of adventure and Bournemouth will offer no less a test. Their manager seems a shrewd and positive tactician well able to get the best from his resources. Gradel epitomises Bournemouth's positive approach (and probably knows no other way) and what's more he'll will have a point to prove. I can only see us coming under considerable pressure at times and that means the brighter our minds and the fewer mistakes the better. We also need to retain the pace in our side. I'll never bet against Leicester, but if we shape up like we did against Spurs there'll be little case for optimism. Kante in for Drinkwater might improve our chances but it still bothers me who's best to link with Vardy up front because no-one stands out as being the full package. We need to play whoever will take most attending to, because that will occupy more of Bournemouth's resources. A five-man midfield with Schlupp and Mahrez on the outside might be best, helped by Kante, Inler and King in the centre. After that it's down to whether we play three at the back and two up front or four at the back and risk being as boring as we were last week. If Kramaric or Okasaki plays we could utilise King more defensively when under pressure in what, I'm sure, will be a fascinating duel and one of considerable importance all round. Who Dares Wins comes to mind but you can never really write the script for football. Perhaps our attitude will be the key. Either we find the way to attack and defend as a unit or we'll falter. Against Spurs we were rarely a unit. The defenders were so self-contained we were like a girdle with virtually nothing but sideways elasticity. We'll need more bouyancy and cohesion than that at the seaside. We'll not contain the rip-tide of Bournemouth's attacks without flooding forward ourselves as chances arise and that's the part that was missing against Spurs. When we got the ball, too many of our team remained becalmed in The Doldrums instead of going with the flow, opening up passing opportunities and testing the strength of Spurs' tidal barrier. We seemed afraid to get out of our depth yet the waves Spurs actually threatened were rarely more than ripples.
Kasey Keller Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 Gradel to score and give it the big finger on lips celebration in front of the city fans then they lose 3-1
ealingfox Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 If we score first I think we will win. 2-3 City for me, Oka to bag.
Captain... Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 Gradel to score and give it the big finger on lips celebration in front of the city fans then they lose 3-1 Why would he do that? I doubt anyone is going to boo him, I would expect him to get a good reception, and rightly so, he shouldn't get the Leicester reject treatment as he wasn't in my eyes, did he play against us for Leeds? Edit: He did, 3 times in 2010-11 season Getting 2 assists and a goal I don't remember him giving it the big 'un in those games, but I wasn't in the country at that point so don't remember too well.

Foxymcoxy Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 I like Gradel and I like Bournemouth. Hope they do well this season and I expect them to. I wouldn't swap our team for theirs though, and I definitely wouldn't swap Mahrez or Albrighton for Gradel at the moment. Nothing to be afraid of, just treat the game the same as any other recently and we'll be fine. Bournemouth 1-3 Leicester.

TonyN11 Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 kermogant will score against us. i can see it. Guaranteed!
Captain... Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 Guaranteed! Doubt he will start, scored midweek for Bournemouth's second string league cup side, only had 40 minutes against Villa otherwise this season.
