The leaders of Fiorentina side today held a meeting to discuss the situation with Leicester City defender Yohan Benalouane. The Frenchman joined Fiorentina on loan in the last transfer window, but has yet to play for the Serie A side.

Firenze Viola have confirmed Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade has today sat down with Paul Busardo (the middle man in the transfer deal) regarding the Leicester City man.

The Italian club are unhappy that Benalouane has been injured the entire time he’s been in Italy, and they believe the Premier League side didn’t disclose this to them when they were conducting transfer talks during the last window. The meeting today was centred around Fiorentina refusing to pay Leicester City the loan fee agreed in January, and also the player’s salary, which has also been relayed back to the East Midlands side.

Benalouane signed for Leicester City last summer, but struggled to break into the team because of the partnership of Robert Huth and Wes Morgan. The defender played less than a handful of games before being loaned out to Fiorentina in the last window.

He played for against Spurs like a week beforehand? How could he then pick up a 2 month injury that neither us (the fans) or them, through their own scouting/research/medical not pick up on?

Maybe he's just unfit and Fiorentina want their money back

What I would say though, and I don't feel we've done anything wrong here, is that Leicester could do to just be careful how they're doing things. Mud sticks and we don't need to build up a catalogue of bad practice. The Interstellar deal and FFP stuff sounds a bit dodgy, to be honest, and if we accumulate stories like that it might make doing business difficult. Historically other clubs have described us as being good to do business with and it's in our interests to stay that way.

Doubt they'd be amenable to selling Josip Ilicic if this leaves a bitter taste...

Isn't every other player who hadn't been on/isn't currently on international duty though back?

Kasper is a key pundit in Danish TV for the euros.
