luke the fox Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Just a simple question for the people at the game/streaming it. Did our two new fullbacks look better? If so what was better about them?
AKCJ Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Yes. Both (Fuchs in particular) can defend. Fuchs is the #1 leftback for me now. When Mahrez is fit he comes in for Okazaki for me.
StanSP Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Fuchs was good after shaky first few minutes. Good at blocking crosses and didn't give their wingers much time at all on the ball. Simpson again not bad at all. Hopefully his injury isn't too bad as right now I'd prefer him over Benalouane or De Laet.
Swiper Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Every long ball from Fuchs was dangerous. He was far stronger in defense than we were initially led to believe by some when he was first signed. Simpson was quite solid. Benny came on and looked plenty solid as well.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Haven't conceded in the league with Simpson on the pitch Seriously, how did he look today? Worth seriously considering him as a viable option to RDL?
lgfualol Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Haven't conceded in the league with Simpson on the pitch Seriously, how did he look today? Worth seriously considering him as a viable option to RDL? Definitely, especially away games I think. De Laet might be better at home vs lower table teams for his attacking. Fuchs is just, the left back now.
Jakemoore Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Fuchs looked a class above and Simpson was pretty decent too!
LanguedocFox Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Fuchs is class. Simpson was solid enough, and prefer him to De Laet, I think. Still would like to see Was back, just to see how he performs.
LCCFox96 Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Was well impressed with Fuchs today and thought he backed up a great game against West Ham in the cup really well. His delivery from outside matches the quality only Albrighton consistently displays and he poses a good attacking threat too. Simpson was more than decent today as well. Didn't offer so much going forward, although we knew that would be the case, but strong defensively.
Fox 4 Life Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 They were both quality today. Simpson is so much more composed defensively than RDL and with Jeff in front of him it doesn't matter as much that he is rubbish going forward! Fuchs is a class act and that throw is a dangerous weapon.
davieG Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Simpson had the benefit of Albrighton in front of / supporting him. Fuchs looked ok but again had a semi experienced LB in front / supporting him.
desertfox2 Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Fuchs is making left back his own. Simpson was surprisingly good today but clearly right back is our weakest position. We probably get away with that a bit because albrighton tracks back so well.
jimmeh Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Since when was Simpson ever even a bad player for us? I swear people get him mixed up with Lee peltier.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Since when was Simpson ever even a bad player for us? I swear people get him mixed up with Lee peltier. It is more to do with his off field antics, but he did have a solid game... I was far from in favour of him starting or even being near the team but maybe a second chance isn't a bad thing to give, if he is willing to sort himself out
FireFox Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Fuchs's throws are godly, should have had a goal from the one.
Socks Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Tbh he was great today (Simpson) I know everyone hates him but he is so much better than Da Laet. Looked solid, reliable. Maybe now his off pitch dramas have finished he may prove to be a good signing? Second chance and all that...
filbertstreet Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Since when was Simpson ever even a bad player for us? I swear people get him mixed up with Lee peltier. He nearly scored 2 own goals at West Ham didn't he? Fuchs was class this game, due a starting place I think
DB11 Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 He nearly scored 2 own goals at West Ham didn't he? And should have given away three penalties in the cup - fortunately the referee didn't give them anything!
desertfox2 Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Since when was Simpson ever even a bad player for us? I swear people get him mixed up with Lee peltier. It's not that he's been bad it's more that he's not that good. Today he had a great game but if you were to rate all the right backs in the prem objectively he wouldn't be very high up the list.
foxfanazer Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Fuchs is a guaranteed starter for me. Great at the back and his crosses from deep are great. I'm sure Albrighton could play the same role on the other side
AjcW Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Haa this thread couldn't be any more stereotypical football fan!! One decent game and the absolute rotter is suddenly back in favour. Hate him, should have been sacked as he would have been in any other job, hate football for the fact no one ever is sacked for anything like that. I honestly don't care if he's better right now, benny would be fine there, and de laet with support would be fine until we can get someone in. Second chances are fine for the likes of say Livermore who was grieving when he was caught taking drugs.... not so much for someone who's well known for being an arse hole and has been found guilty of being one!! Also to top it all off... he's ****ing awful! One okay game against a promoted side doesn't make him the saviour!
Max Power Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Good performance from Fuchs in particular, his set pieces an added bonus. His social media game is unparalleled as well, what a man

I don't think anyone has said anything about him being a savior or anything ridiculous. We've all stated the obvious, which is that he had a very nice game today. No one has really gone much further than that. He just played better than everyone thought he would today.
Freesolo Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Good to hear about Fuchs but ****ing hell Danny Simpson has been heading for the guillotine for months on here suddenly he is the second coming
