MC Prussian Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 http://www.vecernji.hr/nogomet/talijanski-mediji-lovre-kalinic-na-ljeto-prelazi-u-lazio-1048113 Italian media report that the keeper of Hajduk Lovre Kalinicon the threshold of Lazio. 25-year-old Kalinic should the summer move to Italy for a place in goal to fight the Albanians Etrit Berisha. It is expected that the first goalkeeper Federico Marchetti in the summer to leave the club because it has not extended the contract. Remember, the English media have previously reported that the Croatian goalkeeper Aston Villa is interested and ready to give four million euros. Might as well go for Marchetti and some more experience between the sticks instead.
desertfox2 Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Might have to take the odd risk to cement top 4 True. If it worked could be the difference even training against messi suarez and neymar should be keeping him sharp.
Callabinho Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 http://bit.ly/1YKxlji Carrillo again. Fee quoted at €10 million. Bournemouth also interested.
AKCJ Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Chuck a load of money at Sporting for Carillo and Slimani.
Steven Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Know I'm going to get slated for this but what about Adebayor on a 6 month contract. He tends to knuckle down and become unplayable when on loan to try and get a long term contract. If we got 6 good months out of him it's a gamble but if it worked it could be what we need to get our best ever finish. If his attitude is poor which has never been a problem before when trying to get a full time contract then terminate. Play him at his own game. If we get top 4 we have a much better range of players to buy in the summer.
Gerard Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 http://bit.ly/1YKxlji Carrillo again. Fee quoted at €10 million. Bournemouth also interested. Absolutely no chance anyone pays €10m for him in January, he's available on a Bosman in the summer and is free to sign a pre contract this Friday. I suspect this is just uber lazy journalism rather than Sporting chancing their arm as even they can't be that greedy and stupid to think anyone might pay it. Carrillo has been shut out at Sporting for refusing to sign a new contract so at the moment he's not playing and taking a wage so I'm sure Sporting will want to get rid of him in January to get rid of his wages and to get a nominal fee whilst they can, maybe €3m?
desertfox2 Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Was expecting worse than that to be fair. He does do well until he fools someone into giving him a long term contract then he becomes a knob. 14 goals in 25 games season before last. Someone will sign him in Jan and get a good 6 months out of him
VLC86 Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 If we are after a keeper I wouldn't be surprised to see us go for Sportiello from Atalanta. Young and looks like a cracking player, Bournemouth were linked a few months ago but would probably cost the best part of £10m. Plus we have clearly heavily scouted them. Gomez there would be a good signing as well but again will cost a fair bit.

He's been very good this season and there are a lot more positions who need to be improved before we see our GK as the weakest link.

I agree that we won't buy a keeper but I don't see that many weaker positions that we would need to improve before it.
Gerard Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 I would rate our players positions in order of safety like this: 1. Vardy 2. Mahrez 3. Kante 4. Fuchs 5. Drinkwater 6. Morgan 7. Schmeichel 8. Albrighton 9. Huth 10. Simpson 11. Okazaki/Ulloa I think a support FW and a RB are vulnerable to change. LW and CB are other options but anyone from Schmeichel upwards are safe in their position for the immediate future.

I can see the logic in that list - however perhaps a tad harsh on Huth who'll remain ever present this season bar injury. I agree though in the main we need more depth in real quality if we are going to bother in the January window so yeah, needed are: Striker Right Back Winger Defensive Mid Centre Half 100 million should do it.
Guest Col city fan Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Absolutely agree with the shout on Carillo and Slimani. Two quality players.
Clazie Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Byram/Trippier, Gray/Tore & another CF. Jordan Ayew?

I could see Albrighton being replaced by Carillo, Simpson being replaced by Arias and Okazaki being replaced by Milik. 25 million should do it for those three. Schmeichel Arias Huth Morgan Fuchs Mahrez Drinkwater Kante Carillo Milik Vardy That looks sexy. Replace Huth and Schmeichel in the summer.

Xen Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Schmeichel Arias Huth Morgan Fuchs Mahrez Drinkwater Kante Carillo Milik Vardy Oh, my.
foxes21 Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Granted he is still young, but Milik is not what we need. He is more of a finisher then a number 10, or target man. It would be like re-signing Chris wood
VLC86 Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Sportiello signed a new deal today so he's not leaving.
Micky Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Naismith to Norwich for £8 million. That is a lot of money for a 29 year old bit part player.
Leicesterpool Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Peter Crouch perhaps he's got a goal in him, experience and height. Not getting much playing time at Stoke, so way me not have to pay much.
MC Prussian Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Naismith to Norwich for £8 million. That is a lot of money for a 29 year old bit part player. The January transfer window is a seller's market. Some teams are desperate for bolstering their squad that they'll pay anything for short-term adjustments.
NoFuchsGiven Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Peter Crouch perhaps he's got a goal in him, experience and height. Not getting much playing time at Stoke, so way me not have to pay much. Decent on his day but if we have real ambition then no not for me
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Peter Crouch would be TERRIBLE, Wymsepool
