GaelicFox Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 That is quite possibly the dumbest 'tradition' I've ever seen. What on earth did I just watch Without traditions a society is without a soul !
KP Fox Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 What are you on about? I am on about the fact that our club we have the 3 fastest players in the premier league. Namely Vardy, Schlupp and Albrighton
old koppite Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Don't we have something similar at Hallerton; or doesn't that count if it's in Rutland; don't know if it is and can't be bothered to check-
fuchsntf Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Suprises me every week, that Albrighton still brings some posts with doubts and questions on selection. Weird forum...
Grewks Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 He is needed for balance. Those suggesting okazaki and albirighton need to be replaced need to understand what has got us here. If we had 3 Mahrez's behind Vardy, we wouldn't be top 4 imo.
EastAnglianFox Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 For a split second I sometimes want to shout at him for a rushed/poor delivery, then I remember how hard that lad works. Made an attempt to watch him more as an individual the last few games and even when he is blowing out of his arse, he never stops trying to track back or chase a long clearance when trying to break.
The Blur Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 If we were to develop further after this season then I can see him being used in high stakes game where we want to be solid defensively but in games against teams in lower end of the table then we could play a more attacking winger (which would be useful on the bench to come on if we need a goal in big games) if we were to sign one in the summer to replace Albrington as sadly I think he will be amongst vulnerable ones to replace if we want to progress further.
theessexfox Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 He works bloody hard and is important for us and has started every game, and as mentioned some of his chipped angled balls to Vardy and Okazaki go unnoticed but create real chances.
Sampson Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 He is needed for balance. Those suggesting okazaki and albirighton need to be replaced need to understand what has got us here. If we had 3 Mahrez's behind Vardy, we wouldn't be top 4 imo. This! I really don't get the criticism of him. He plays the defensive winger role which allows Mahrez to go marauding forward without destroying our shape in midfield and he constantly closes down opposition counter attacks and cuts out opposition wingers' space and he creates chances every game on top of that. Okazaki does similar in his defensive forward role, but because they're more tactical roles rather than flashy ones people dismiss them. He's our top chance creator even over Mahrez. If Vardy puts away his header when he really should've scored yesterday he gets an assist. If Okazaki puts away his chance after Albrighton's lengthy run or Vardy puts away his one on one after Albrighton's superb through ball vs ManCity he gets an assist. He'd be said to have had fantastic performances in both those games despite the fact he's done nothing more, it's just others converted the chances he created. He's playing the same defensive winger role Park played for ManUtd for many years and Ferguson always said he was one of his most important players at the time due to his defensive work rate and his crossing ability and the balance he gave the side at the time and he'd pretty much always play Park in the big matches.
TJB-fox Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 If he was called marco albrightinho and we signed him from Real Madrid he'd get far more credit
AKCJ Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 I am on about the fact that our club we have the 3 fastest players in the premier league. Namely Vardy, Schlupp and Albrighton Sorry, is this some sort of joke i'm not getting? He's no slouch but he's our slowest winger. Mahrez, Schlupp and Gray are all quicker.
foxes21 Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 Always makes things happen, he's so good for us. He's even more dangerous on the right though
ithuriel Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 Was poor yesterday but improved when he swapped wings, think he was annoyed with himself because he looked miffed in the first half when he could not control the ball, think he said a few blue words
sdb Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 Thought it was just about his worst performance for us yesterday, but massive credit to him for plugging away and being so brave and attacking when at wing back, as it ultimately won us the game. Must of covered some serious ground during those 90.
benmeysner Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 Mahrez isnt quicker than albrighton. Infact mahrez isnt really quick at all.
Sampson Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 Was poor yesterday but improved when he swapped wings, think he was annoyed with himself because he looked miffed in the first half when he could not control the ball, think he said a few blue words He was our only player yesterday who was actually creating anything. Virtually all of the few half-decent chances we had came through him. Yes, he was hit-and-miss and he got robbed a couple of times, but he seems an odd player to pick out and call poor yesterday in a generally poor performance from the entire team when he was one of the few actually adding anything positive to us from an attacking point of view and getting in good positions trying things, even though they weren't always coming off. Btw, I've said before, but I noticed it again yesterday, he always seems to the first player on the scene to shut out opposition counter-attacks down the wing and instantly jockeys his man and shuts out space allowing the defence to re-organise. When you're a counter-attacking side, the old adage is that the biggest danger is to be counter-attacked back, but he's such a good player at stopping that happening. I think the way he stops teams countering back and always seems to be the first on the scene to shut out potential counter attacks is one of his biggest strengths. He's definitely a player you appreciate a lot more once you make a specific point to watch him for 90 minutes and see just how good his off-the-ball work is I think.
ithuriel Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 This is the Albrighton thread so of course I'm going to pick him out for being not up to his usual standards, Fair enough, he got no protection from the ref and Simpson was missing but even he knew he was having an off game and was frustrated with himself. Improved a lot, as I already said, when he switched wings.

He's my favourite player to watch because he just does so much, yet as its just 'simple' stuff compared to Mahrez it goes unnoticed.
AyewJoking Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 Mahrez isnt quicker than albrighton. Infact mahrez isnt really quick at all. you dont need pace when you can teleport.
Chester Dontlie Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 He could hardly find his feet yesterday, gave a lot of effort but just nothing went right for him, even the simplest passes were inaccurate at times. Up until that final cross I thought he was probably Leicester's worst player bar Amartey (who's a newcomer so still adjusting, learning LCFC ways etc). I think he's out of form for quite some time now, hopefully will be back to his best sooner rather than later. Not to beat up on Albrighty, couple of others had an off day too, namely Drinky, Fuchs, Vards.

fuchsntf Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 Albrighton was our best forward moving player the whole game..... Opinions, opinions. And too much player chasing for hate campaigns...oh yes it is.
FireFox Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 Mahrez needs to let Albrighton switch to the right more.
foxes21 Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 Albrighton was our best attacking player yesterday.
Chester Dontlie Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 you completely ignored how inept Mahrez was Just kind of blanked out his performance, but I agree, Mahrez was very poor too. Most of the lads were way below their usual standard yesterday. Hopefully they will step up against WBA.
