Vardy and Mahrez were all anyone wanted to talk about when I was in Dublin a few weeks back. Even a guy from Texas had heard of Vardy. I was amazed. Didn't think they knew there was anything beyond the borders of Texas.

In Israel it's just insane.

Israel is a country of football. Our local league is so bad, And some of the big teams (Like Maccabi Haifa and Beitar) are really bad, and because of it a lot of football fans are watching other leagues.

A lot of 'em are fans of Barca, Real and Bayern, But the majority of them are fans of the EPL. You have a lot of Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea over here. A lot!

So the EPL is the biggst league people are looking up to, And with the recent success, You can see a lot of people talking about Leicester almost everywhere, Mostly about Vardy and Mahrez.

Here's something that the main channel who is broadcasting premier league matches showed before the game againt Man United: (WATCH IT!)

https://www.facebook.com/sharon.davidovitch/videos/962538400460474/

I also was a guest in several TV shows as a Leicester fan and i helped some writers doing their research about us.

Every football fan in Israel knows who is Leicester City and can name at least 2-3 players that we have.

MaTan, you won this thread :D

I don't understand a word of Hebrew apart from "(Hevenu) Shalom alechem", but that's a beautiful report.  :appl:

Who's the passionate bald-headed guy in the video giving answers to the reporter? Is that you?

That clip just made me realize again what a fairytale this season has been so far and what a tremendous success the Great Escape was.

Brilliant. I don't want it to end. It's bound to at one point - until then, I keep living in actual dreamland.

I have a couple of American friends who are into "soccer", and they're keeping an eye on Leicester due to taking the Premier League by storm. Y'know, liking Leicester's Facebook page and whatnot. Thought you'd be interested!

If you walk around generic sports shops in this country or even Leicester! you still won't see a Leicester City Shirt.

When you see an LCFC shirt in a random shop around the world then that's the reputation the Thai's are after.

What he said.  Spot on.  Shirts in shops = big club with widespread reputation.  I doubt we'll ever get there though, needs to be sustained high finishes and probably include winning the title itself to get there.

I've seen and spoken to a few groups of Japanese & Thai fans that have traveled over just to see the stadium, take photos & try to meet the players.

For me, that is a big indicator we're moving in the right direction.

It's amazing to see this happening.

My dad said to me, as I was still quite young during the O'Neill years that 'one day you'll see the glory days again.'

He said to me a few days ago that he's never been as excited or happy seeing Leicester play. He says the last time he saw us play exciting football was under Jimmy Bloomfield, but this is better.

These are the glory days people. Enjoy them.

We got a lot of Brazilian fans, we have a Brazil Leicester city fan page on facebook and also they have a Brazil Leicester city whatsapp group and i am a member. I speak some Portuguese and travel to Brazil a lot so i keep them updated with our news on whatsapp.

also if anyone ever goes to Rio De Janiero make sure you go to Books Hostel. The owner is a good friend of mine, he is a born and bred Brazilian and a big fan of Leicester City.

He has a number of our shirts and was at the opening game of the season. I will be in Rio soon and i will be taking him another retro Leicester shirt to add to his collection.

YES !!! there is a Brazilian born man walking around in Rio wearing a Leicester City shirt !!! WE ARE MASSIVE !!!!

One thing I've noticed this season (and this seems to be corroborated by a few anecdotes here) is that Americans are not the only people that think Leicester is pronounced "LIE-Chester." I've heard Albanian, French, and Portuguese people say it that way. lol

Add Danes to that list....

Happy to report we now pass the Bangkok taxi driver test.

If they find out you're English, they always ask what team you support. For years i've said Leicester and met with silence. Last week i said it, the cabby replies "Aaaah Vardy, very good!" We've made it!

My friend is in Thailand right now and he sent me a video of him and  a lot of other guys watching the game against Man United in one of the islands. ALL of 'em were wearing VARDY shirts and he told he never seen anything like that. We are massive in Thailand!

I can't get over that the radio every day on the drive to work is like a Leicester City station - Big four fans must be wondering what's going on having to scour the media for news about their clubs!

I was in Hamburg in October and some taxi driver took the piss out me for supporting city. What's worse is he then had the cheek to talk about Telford FC for some reason. My mates were howling. But then they're 'pool fans so they need something to be cheery about.

Everyone here in South Africa wears their teams strip to the pubs to watch the games, and I was seeing too many united etc. So I thought I'd wear my Leicester shirt. And everybody was all over me asking about Leicester etc. Everyone down here loves us and is always talking about us

My nephew, in Ireland, told me he likes football but doesn't follow a particular team.

He does now!

I was in Israel in 1984, and I went to see Macabbi Haifa with an Israeli mate, on the day they clinched the league title for the first time.

Incredible scenes in Haifa that night.

I have for years (including the Topp Tiles League 1 season) worn the current season home shirt pre-game and when we win and the away shirt for a draw. I wear a previous season's shirt for a loss. I have a small band of fellow City fans here in Adelaide, South Australia and have copped shit from plastic fans of other clubs mainly Liverpool, Man U, Arsenal and Chelsea followers for my loyal and passionate support of the LCFC.

My close mates who follow the PL have always admired my allegiance and loyalty to Leicester and now are paying respect and actually closely following Leicester and learning that we ain't that small as often portrayed in the media out of sheer ignorance.

I have always thought our time will come one day and maybe that is this season, who knows how it will finish but we are a big shout for CL Football so I will happily take that come seasons end if we cannot win the league.

After watching us slip live into League 1 not so long ago, I thought I was destined never to see us mix with the "big boys" but fvck me we are doing just that and holding our own. It may take this year plus a few years more but there is no reason why we cannot compete at the pointy end each year in the future.

I will as always pre game, win, lose or draw proudly display my allegiance to the LCFC - difference is at present I strut with arrogance and puff my chest out even more.

I have never seen City play in the flesh so to speak but have followed them since I was a kid (7 years of age - I am now nearly 51) from the other side of the world in eras where there was no internet and very little English Football on TV. I am also dying of terminal cancer and no one thought I would see out last season when they gave me 4 weeks to live at start of March. I am actually posting from a hospital bed now having had cancer spread to my lungs and spent the last 12 days plus a few more to come after lung surgery. City survived and so have I - coincidental but great re more time alive!

Not knowing how long I have left, this season really is priceless and dreamland for me.

I will always be Leicester til I die!

Glenelgfox... when I go to the Stoke match on the 23rd I'll think of you and give the lads an extra shout on your behalf. It matters not that you haven't seen the team live, you are one of us. FNQ.

This should be printed out and put up in the dressing room. So no player can be left in doubt as to what our club means to us. Long may you live and I prey you see the outcome of this wonderful season.
