Global reputation

Football Manager players will understand the importance of reputation which goes from local, national and international. I live 200 miles from Leicester and I've heard youths arguing over who's going to be Vardy during a kick about recently. We've maxed our national rep which begs the question

.. What's the international reputation like?

I think the summer is going to be the biggest indicator when we venture abroad on holiday in our Leicester gear. Will European/the rest of the world fans be flocking to share their understand with us? Has anybody abroad experienced this already? I think you truley make it when you become so big that you're just ignored! It's impossible to gauge then!

Just come back from India and I had Locals/holidaymakers commenting on Jamie 'Wardy' and Mahrez. Every time I wore my shirt people approached me in pubs to talk about how well they're doing.

We're massive

My work mate came back from Vietnam a few weeks ago, she met a lad in a small village desperate for a City shirt!

Getting quite weird!

Was speaking to a South Korean that was speaking at length about Vardy. Arsenal supporter unfortunately. Said most South Koreans support United because of Park Ji Sung. Hey, we may be become the Green Bay Packers of the football world: small place, big club. Don't we have any Japanese fans yet? I reckon that could get me a few free drinks if I visit!

Actually, I was chatting a Canadian who knew about Vardy and Leicester. Said he'd support us to the end of the season. Hated man utd fans too, heh.

If you walk around generic sports shops in this country or even Leicester! you still won't see a Leicester City Shirt.

When you see an LCFC shirt in a random shop around the world then that's the reputation the Thai's are after.

I had a Google hangout session today with a prospective client based in Milan. We did the small talk bit first and he follows Inter home and away each week (so I assumed he knew his stuff). He asked me where I was based and when i said "just outside of London" he replied "so I guess you follow Arsenal, Spurs or Chelsea then?" I said, "well actually I'm originally from a city in the middle of England called Leicester so I follow them, and believe it or not we're top of the premier league!" I then waited for the gushing praise and reference to Ranieri but instead I got: "Leicester? no I'm not familiar with them..." followed by an awkward pregnant pause. So I guess we're not big in Milan quite yet!

Live in California and everyone who is into sport knows who we are now. Vardy specifically. Not seen anyone in a City shirt but they're so bloody hard to get out here.

They're bloody hard to come by here too. Tried to get the away white shirts for my lads but sold out in their sizes!

I expect it was your broad East Midlands accent that confused him.

Odd, all the Italians I've met have mentioned Ranieri incredibly quickly.

I really want to see some lcfc shirts on some people from far flung places, simply because it's Leicester. United, Arsenal, Chelsea all from big and impressive cities -- and Leicester, with the magnificent National Space Centre and the High Cross.

That said, met plenty of Fijians who know about Leicester because of the Tigers - still, Rugby is hardly as global as football.
