Liverpool.. Boxing day.. Early thoughts..

A few weeks ago, Liverpool were starting to look a decent side and the toughest fixture in our supposed difficult run but in more recent games, they've looked as bad as Villa. I think the result will depend on which Liverpool turn up but I can only see them getting a draw at best without the help of a couple of dodgy handball decisions.

I've been reading some of their forums and they seem split between those that think they're going to t**t us because they're the mighty Liverpool and we're just Leicester ******* City and those with a healthy dose of realism about the respective positions and teams of both clubs. There still seems to be quite a lack of knowledge about us though, one poster thinks we only have one clean sheet and leak buckets full of goals, they seemed to take it as gospel and it wasn't corrected at any point. You'd think at least one of them would have done just the tiniest bit of research. Some think Vardy will be out injured obviously not realising he's been playing with a broken wrist all season and groin, hip and foot injuries while breaking records and still looking the fastest player in the league. Vardy could be on his deathbed and he'd still get out of it to play. Most of our goals are apparently scored from long balls over the top for Vardy to run on to, if they've only seen goal highlights just a bit of basic maths would show that to be entirely wrong. There's just so much wrongness, I'd be writing this post all night.

Obviously we expect a lack of knowledge from the aforementioned "they're just Leicester ******* City" type of poster but the lack of correction from the actually quite large section of realistic posters is a little disappointing and unfortunately, either shows a bit of a lack of knowledge on their part as well or maybe they've just given up trying to reason with or inform people with that mindset. I know I would

For no good reason, I don't expect them to be as bad as previously, meaning they'll give us a good fight, considering they have some excellent individual players and there's a fairly good chance Klopp will instill some kind of team spirit for the match. That said, I still fancy us to win, given they have loads of injuries, apparent fitness problems, and they've hardly been promising of late. Looking fordward to the match anyhow: either a draw or a marginal win I think.

Can't believe I'm saying this about Liverpool away but I will honestly be surprised if we lose this

Looks like very heavy rain today in Liverpool. Not good for us I think.

It was bad weather last week against Everton

The bookies STILL don't fancy us..

29/10 on the City win today with 365.

Seem long odds to me?

Since Vardy is strutting with some of the most elite names in football, I'm going to say Vardy Hat-trick. Their pressing style will be a godsend to us if we get our tactics right. We're stuck in a habit of breaking records at the moment, and do correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Liverpool haven't lost at home on Boxing Day in the premier league?

Depends what Liverpool team turns up. I think no matter what we will give them a good game.

Hopefully no Christmas hangovers and we can come away with all 3 points and go into the new year top of the league

Not sure it does. I think if we turn up and play our usual away game, they don't have the weapons to hurt us. They certainly don't have the defence to stop us if we play well. Could be a massacre...

Let's not forget they've beaten some v good teams recently. This won't be easy but I do hope we play our best stuff as i'd love to see what it could do to them...

I am defiantly confident we will get the 3 points. Just read that Marton Skrtel is out for 6 six weeks including today and he is their key defender. Huth is back from his suspension so he'll probably replace Was and Drinky will probably be subbed on instead of replacing King.

Skrtel is injured their best defender

The only fear is that they'll come out of the tunnel like a wounded animal, depending on what pre-match speech Klopp has managed to put together. They looked miles off pace at Vicarage Road and their performance overall was disjointed and quite frankly a disgrace.
