Gerard Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 Linked with Schalke. It might be best for all concerned. We spent £10m on Inler and Benalouane in the summer and when Drinkwater and Huth were out against Everton we replace them with long term players who cost us nothing in King and Wasilewski. Maybe get what we can back and roll the dice again especially with James coming back. https://www.clubcall.com/leicester-city/foxes-star-wanted-by-bundesliga-big-boys-1793066.html
LCCFox96 Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 Were we not linked with Joel Matip in the past? Inler could potentially be used as a make weight in any possible deal there.
Gerard Posted 21 December 2015 Author Posted 21 December 2015 Were we not linked with Joel Matip in the past? Inler could potentially be used as a make weight in any possible deal there. Just googled him. Rated at £9.8m on transfermarket and his contract is up in the summer so right up our street. Also Sunderland are interested so if they think they have a shot we out trump them easily. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joel-matip/profil/spieler/82105 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/joel-matip-tops-sunderland-transfer-7041843
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 Don't want to see him go yet. Think he'll come good.

You just fell for it. Although I do agree with the situation on the whole - it concerns me that the captain of our national football team doesn't see as many minutes as I initially expected. You look ahead to EURO 2016 and it's clear he needs more games in order to be fit and ready for the tournament.
Footballwipe Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 I may be naive or easily hoodwinked but I'm impress with Inler how he's taking not playing so much. He offers plenty of support on social media, I've not read or heard any grumblings or rumblings from him about not playing and he seems to be a team man (and great friend with Fuchs.) Now it might be because he's earning £££ a week and not having to play, loving the lifestyle, but even so, I like the fact there's no real discontent in the camp for not playing (and at the moment could they really argue that much!?) I wouldn't begrudge anyone not playing a loan move, especially if they need to be playing fregularly to get ready for Euro 2016; and he could always come back. I'd argue it's a bit Cambiasso-esque, after Stoke and United Esteban took a little while to get up to speed; thing for him was he hasn't got a top-of-the-table midfield pairing in front of him performing week in, week out!
DennisNedry Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 If we can get our money back for him then sell asap. Drinkwater, King, Kante, James are enough imo.
Vindaloo FOX Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 Wasilewski looked good vs Everton but let's not forget he is 35 now and Benny is 28, keep Benny around we will need him at some point mostly if Wasilewski calls it day . Inler is a good squad player but we have not seen nothing special from him also he is 31 and most likely on a very high wage, if he does go i will not care to much about it.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 No way, keep him! As I've previously posted, the loss of some our key players (Vardy, Mahrez, Drinky, Kanté) whether injury or to another team could force us to alter our playing style, slow things down, use possession more. Even if we don't I think he can adapt and become key. He could well become a key player for us
HoustonFox Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 Keep for sure. Maybe his experience and competitiveness in training is also what's helping improve the others
MPH Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 Think if we were going to loan Inler to anyone, i'd like it to be to a lowly prem team so he can have the opportunity to get used to the premier league .

Bluearmyfox28 Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 If Inler does go I reckon we will buy a replacement rather than just leaving us with what we currently have.
Guest Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 tired of these threads wanting to ruin our squad.

You just fell for it. Although I do agree with the situation on the whole - it concerns me that the captain of our national football team doesn't see as many minutes as I initially expected. You look ahead to EURO 2016 and it's clear he needs more games in order to be fit and ready for the tournament. Maybe EURO 2016 is part of the problem. He's here to benefit Leicester City, the people who pay his wages, rather than enjoying a convenient training ground for his EURO target. And so far, given his performances, I'd say he's lucky to have played as much as he has. The "captain of Switzerland" handle does nothing to impress me. I worked in Switzerland as a squash coach and beat their national champion, no problem. I beat him because the standard there was unexceptional and, even based in Basel, Zurich and Geneva at different times, I never noticed the standard of football as being notably better than the squash. So Inler has a lot to prove even to justify staying on the bench here, let alone challenging for a starting place. His failings in terms of Premiership requirements have been well documented and only he can show the character needed to eradicate them and adapt, but it won't be easy. His languid style is way out of fashion in today's Premiership and I can only see the competition getting harder. No I've not lost all hope in him. There were brief but better signs last time out and hope springs eternal because I'd like to see him succeed. But yes, I do think he'll be better off back on the continent, getting his games and focusing on what is clearly very important to him.
4everfox Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 Inler wants to be a part of the Switzerland squad for the Euro's so of course he will want to leave to het game time and its probably what's best for all parties. Send him out on loan, bring in Nigel De Jong.
foxes21 Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 I doubt Switzerland are going to drop their captain from their squad , no matter the circumstance.
FoxinNotts Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 tired of these threads wanting to ruin our squad. Exactly. It's a squad game. Inler is playing his part in our relative success. DD Kante and King, know they have to perform to keep him out. Also, come match day the opposition will see the quality of our bench, see 'big names' in there, and know they're in for a game. Want him to stay.
AKCJ Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 I doubt Switzerland are going to drop their captain from their squad , no matter the circumstance. Would you take Rooney if he couldn't get into United's squad? (I wouldn't take him regardless but the point stands)
Thracian Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 Would you take Rooney if he couldn't get into United's squad? (I wouldn't take him regardless but the point stands) No thanks. Way past his best now. Our team needs to supplement with pace and energy. Rooney doesn't even seem to be striking the ball properly these days and while he remains strong and willing, he seems to be struggling more and more to the point where he's going to ground more often in the sheer frustration of trying to keep up.
Blue Ed Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 I'd hold on to him for a couple of reasons. Other players and agents will see that Leicester can attract and keep big players and we're serious about our intent, also I do think he offers some different qualities that although may not fit in our style of play at the moment we may need as the season progresses.
