m4DD0gg Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 My concern is i dont think CR has a plan B in terms of formation.
davieG Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Some stats http://www.kickoff.co.uk/61386/amazing-stats-for-leicester-city-v-manchester-city/
CharlieCharles Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Cannot actually believe people are saying to rest Vardy even if he is fit because he is "tired". We are playing Manchester City for gods sake. In what could possibly be the biggest game of the season, Vardy can have a rest after the Bournemouth game when we have a 10 day break between league games. Really hoping Kram is involved tomorrow along side him as well, If however Vardy isnt fit then Kram playing behind Okazaki.
AKCJ Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 These are awful away from home, we should beat them really. The standard go 2-0 up, concede a shit goal, get a bit lucky and then hold on.
NewEnglandFox Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 What attributes does Shinji have that qualifies him to lead the line? He hasn't shown the pace, physicality, or touch that Vardy has yet somehow some of you think he can stand in? Not a chance. I don't think we've ever seen the guy go on a run. How exactly is he going to fill in for Vardy?

How exactly is he going to fill in for Vardy? Who else in our squad could replace him? My first thought was Schlupp! But he's injured... We don't have back up for Vardy! I say, if Vardy is unable to play tomorrow, give Kramaric a go in a formation that suites his style of play, Mahrez behind him with Dyer on the wing?.. He could link up well with Mahrez if the ball is on the floor from what I've seen of Kramaric.

The others have no pace at all, so new tactics would be needed.
Thracian Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Vardy's been playing on the adrenalin of euphoria on so many levels and whether there's still some left or not there'll be payback time. Seems to me that time's arrived but the manager will be able to judge far better than any of us and may try to maintain the guy's momentum until the transfer window opens and we can purchase the reinforcements so desperately need. It wouldn't surprise me if Ranieri applies the kind of approach used against Tottenham with two closely-packed defensive banks of four (or even five across midfield) shadowing the ball ready to pounce and Vardy plus one from midfield, searching for whatever crumbs they can find. Trouble is I don't see where real breakaway pace, let alone anything sustained, can be found now Vardy's starting to look jaded and the only other genuinely fast player isn't an option right now. It may mean we have to find a plan B but that will depend on who we've got available. Either way, if we leave Kante and Drinkwater in central midfield without capable close support, we'll lose.
Fox42 Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Jamie Vardy, available or not, should sit this one out. I'd rather have him start against Bournemouth with more stamina then against Man City not 100%. It's also a good test to see how strong in-depth we actually are before we hit the new year and the window. I'd go with: Schmeichel Simpson Wasyl Morgan Fuchs Mahrez Kanté Drinkwater (If not fit, Inler) Albrighton/Dyer Kramarić Ulloa

Thracian you will see where its coming from when Vards ,better after his virus, terrorises the Man City fragile defence:) keep the faith sir hes a tough Northern lad
Thracian Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Thracian you will see where its coming from when Vards ,better after his virus, terrorises the Man City fragile defence:) keep the faith sir hes a tough Northern lad Let's hope so. Cos there's no replacing the guy as far as I can see.
Leicester_Numan Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Get the performance right and we can beat them but I'd be very happy with a draw and ending the first half of the season second only on goal difference. Who would have thought that 6 games ago? Certainly not me. Whatever happens, even a defeat, it's been a brilliant first half.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Let's hope so. Cos there's no replacing the guy as far as I can see. I agree it seems that way, think that issue will be addressed in the window with a type pace/power certainly more Ighalo type than Austin!
HighPeakFox Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 You could almost merge this with the 'do we buy people in the window?' thread...........it must be obvious to most of us that the most pressing issue is covering Vardy, and perhaps, as I argued elsewhere, Mahrez.
NewEnglandFox Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Stop getting caught in the notion that the only way this team can score goals is to hoof long balls and hope the striker can get on the end of it. That's the biggest problem with this is people get caught up in the roles of players instead of capitalizing on the individual strength of the players we have. We're still a fast team without Vardy, we just can't hoof clearance and maybe our striker will be able to win the footrace to the ball, make the run, and put it in the goal as well. Kram's are next fastest runner. If the situation presents itself, go for it but it can't be plan A. How many of those long balls are wasted as it is? It's a low percentage play but on the race case it does connect it's a high percentage outcome. The mindset has to change from long balls to build up play. Dyer and Albrighton are both in that next tier of fastest players and Ulloa and Kanté with them are 4 players very good at getting the ball upfield quickly. We've scored a ton of goals through buildup play and without hoofing the ball to Vardy.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Worried about this one. If we put in anything less than 100% we're in trouble. Going to have to outscore them really, let's hope Vards is OK to play and Riyad is on form.
sdb Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Got a feeling about RDL for this one. Think he'll be involved and in something pivotal at some stage... Just a hunch!!!
volpeazzurro Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 After tonight's results it's getting tight at the top!
CharlieCharles Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 These are awful away from home, we should beat them really. The standard go 2-0 up, concede a shit goal, get a bit lucky and then hold on. I swear this is all we did the season we won the championship.
lgfualol Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Got a feeling about RDL for this one. Think he'll be involved and in something pivotal at some stage... Just a hunch!!! Let's hope not
CharlieCharles Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Let's hope not RDL and Jeff offer more going forward but so much less defensively. Something we are not very strong at at the best of times. I would leave them out completely unless being played as wingers.
TeamRocket Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 I know lcfc is small club compere to other clubs but i feel like that its my club well our club. I have been a fan for over 20plus years and would love it if this was our year purely because everyone i know is glory fan and just for one time in my life I would like say to them we did it our foxes did the unthinkable without spending 100million we did it. So come on you foxes and win this game and do us proud cos come rain or shine down falls and reaching to the skys lcfc will always be my team our team
Jordan Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 I'm a little worried, but real worry is facing Man City when you're in a serious relegation scrap, not facing Man City when you're battling for the top spot. Ranieri is right--let the "big boys" (and their fans) worry. Let's let our boys continue to play for the win, and our fans continue to have fun. It Raheem Sterling is up for starting two games in three days, I wouldn't mind someone going into a tackle on him with a little extra sauce in the early going. This would normally be a Wasyl Special, but I wonder if Simpson is feeling tired and Ranieri throws Benalouane as a stop-gap right back. If so, I'm sure he'd relish the opportunity.
CharlieCharles Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Proper nervous for this game... Would take a draw all day long.
