Bournemouth at home... Up next.

Bournemouth are Liverpool-like in spirit - they want to swarm all over you but injuries and the class of opposition in the Premiership have made that difficult at the best of times and impossible at others.

Ranieri got it right when he talked about concentration.

But we also need to find some intensity and adventure again.

While I quite understand that some players are tired or carrying injuries, Schlupp and Drinky have been missing altogether and our system has been made more cautious to help us keep collecting something from a string of difficult fixtures, we really need to be back firing fast from the hip.

And here's my major worry. We're not firing fast or even at all for too much of the time and we're not giving the few front men we have anything like the support necessary to keep them wide awake and willing.

Take Vardy. Much longer leading our attack all-but on his own and he'll be walking out with a zimmer frame. If the bloke was a dog we'd be guilty of ill treating him he's left so long on his own.

And, while Schlupp used to terrify even organised defences who didn't have any more idea than his own team-mates what the hell he'd do next, Albrighton is a much more comfortable opponent a reliable 7/10 professional who'll never change the world.

So basically we don't have a fast, threatening left winger just now and we don't have an attacking left back which means that particular avenue is not much more than an offensive cul-de-sac.

We don't have an effective strike partner for Vardy either, nor much shooting potential or numerical support from central midfield so that's another dead end.

And we don't get any attacking help from Simpson so the now well-marked Mahrez is our only hope of a goal from there. No wonder we're starting to look like Corbyn's consciencious abstainers up front....short of personnel and short of weaponry.

Albrighton's low cross near the end on Tuesday summed it up. He might as well have shouted "Is Anybody There" for all the bodies we had heading for the box.

Even the fans are helping. The way they talk, Drinkwater is nearer to God than Messi when it comes to football....the same Messi who terrifies every defence just by having the ball 35 yards from goal or closer and who scores or makes goals like a bloke making ice-cream cones on a summer's day at Wimbledon.

Yes, Drinky is good to a point. But where scoring is concerned he's like a north sea cod - he doesn't like to get anywhere near the nets and nor will he let his friend the ball get tangled up there either.

That leaves Shinji who seems to keep his shooting boots in the pre-match warm-up bags, King who's been in hiding longer than Lord Lucan according to some, Ulloa who still looks as rusty as my wrought-iron gate and Kramaric from Croatia who sounds like a smashing bloke but we had quite enough of those with Rob Kelly.

Well, against Bournemouth we'll surely have to score at least twice to win the game and that means evolving a team that moves up and back as one and which carries fire-power in place of the blanks being used in all but the two guns not registered as pea-shooters.

Who would I play?

Kasper,

Simpson, Morgan, Huth, Fuchs,

   Drinkwater, Kante, King,

     Mahrez, Vardy, Dyer.

.

I don't especially like it. Too defensive. But four or five potential scorers which is about as many as we can manage right now and in a system easily adapted to 4-4-2 or 4-5-1.

Or we could use Inler and Kante in 4-2-4 system with Ulloa partnering Vardy and hope to win 6-5. It would sure bring the excitement back! :xmastongue:

Looks like I'm the first person to post in the LCFC forum in 2016 (or at least one of the first). In all of your faces!

You are definately my new hero.

A late contender for Gibberish Post of the Year Award 2015.

Col city fan wins, anyway. But good try.

You what?

Go easy on the guy, that's his fourth post in over a year.

Can only hope the other 3 were better.

Morning to you all on this Friday morning. Friday's are great when you have the football to look forward to tomorrow!

Proper looking forward to this game. In all fairness to Bournemouth they distribute the ball around very well, and look an overall tidy side. When they came to our place in the championship title winning season I think it was, even then on the day they looked a really decent side with some talented players. I think we won that day but take nothing away from them they looked good.

I'd still be hopeful for a win however, and I think 3pts would be a great boost for the team morale especially in front of our home fans. I believe if we can reach up to the performances levels the players have been putting in, we can get a victory.

I'm predicting a 2-0 win and hoping we can keep another clean sheet following Tuesday night's game against Man City.

Considering the injuries they've got, I have to give credit to Bournemouth, they're doing well.

First team to face us for a second time. Will be interesting to see how they line up.

One thing is for sure - they'll match us for work rate. Might need some Mahrez magic tomorrow if we're getting 3 points.

Bournemouth started off well and then had a poor run but they have bounced back with wins over the bigger teams, think we will have too much on the day for them though as we will want to make sure we get all 3 points can see everyone being fired up for this.

Defence will be looking to get another clean sheet and I'm sure Marhez and Vardy will be over there fatigue.

3-0

Want Vardy to get a yellow on this one

Amnesty for 5 yellows came into effect yesterday. 10 before Easter is the next cut off I think.

Bournemouth have conceded most of their goals from set pieces. not a great stat for us, they have two of the players who have made the most passes in the league and they also cover more ground than nearly every other side. I think we will see a game similar to Watford. that looked quite a struggle for us until we got the lucky break.

should really be winning this. their away form is pretty bad. 5 defeats in 8. a draw at swansea, we all know how easy a fixture that is. beat chelsea, fair play, although not exactly champions chelsea that you'd expect but still a great result. then just about beat 10 (later 9) man west brom.

2 or 3-1 win i'd say. vardy, mahrez and someone else.

Against a team like Bournemouth there's no point in playing a 4231 4213 formation ect ect. Just stick to what we're really good at 442 and be better than them man for man all over the pitch and hopefully it's a good win for us.

Did you say you've bet big on Bournemouth getting relegated Scouse? How big?

not massive, got them in a few bets probably about 50 quids worth of stakes. some of that includes them to finish bottom though but we've got aston villa to thank for that almost definitely being a loser already :D

i still think bournemouth will go down tbf.

They can pass all they like but it's what they do with it that counts, teams make seven side passes while they try to find space to go forward, Mahrez and Albrighton do a step over and run forward.  The driving runs that Kante is now doing is what Man Utd would do in 30 passes.  They've conceded 9 more goals and scored 15 less than us.  I'd say we are an efficient team.  Let teams pass all day if they aren't going forward, at some point they are going to get close enough for Kante to intercept and turn play over.

Kasper

Fuchs - Morgan - Huth - Simpson

Albrighton - Kante - DD - Mahrez

Vardy - Kramaric

3-1 Leicester.

Kramaric, Vardy, Kante with the goals.

I like this team.  If the team are getting roughed up at the front get Leo on for those flick on's that when he pulls off are great.

I'd go for 2-0.  I'd like to see Drinkwater, Kram or Fuchs score.  A Mahrez freekick would be nice to see this season.

Back to 4-4-2 and what, in my opinion, is our best striking partnership. Thought we looked a lot better vs Man City as soon as Vardy had Ulloa up alongside him. He's good foil for Vardy. Everyone else as they were following a very decent performance on Tuesday. Play up to level we have done in certain games and this team should get the job done. If we let our work rate slip and give the ball away too often, like we did against Liverpool, then we will be in for a rough afternoon against a tough hard working team capable of scoring a few.
