norwichfox Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 I think Ranieri should mix it up a bit this match and use Kramaric and Inler from the start. We have relied on the same players and same style for a long time now. It has been successful so I'm not criticizing, but players will need resting and we need to develop some new dimensions to our game otherwise it will be a case of diminishing returns as other teams work out how to play us. Best to tinker now rather than wait until we hit a bad patch. I'd go along with that...but not sure who to leave out for Inler & Kram?
kushiro Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Patience is important today. Eddie Howe will be saying "They've not scored in the last two games, keep it tight in the first half and the crowd might start getting on their backs." The commentator for the Man City game said before kick-off "Leicester's style is to come out of the blocks fast and blow teams away". But actually, in the last three months we've only scored one goal in the first twenty minutes.
Countryfox Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 I'd go along with that...but not sure who to leave out for Inler & Kram? No one. Pick our best team and go for the throat in front of and expectant and noisy crowd. 3 nil Leicester ! Can't wait !
Nalis Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 A side that can play interesting football. Need to keep Kermogant quiet; would be quite embarrassing if he scores. The fact that this is the first Kermogant post I've seen regarding this game shows how far we've come.
Gerard Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Really need a win today after taking 1pt in the last two games. Failure to take all 3pts and all we will here is the wheels have come off and nervously looking back at 5th place as the pack close in on us.
Countryfox Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 1-2 i'm afraid. Defeatist twaddle Betts ! ... Shame on you.
EGBFitness Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Another big game today. I think a lot of people will be expecting us to beat them today where last few games there has been pressure off as we weren't expected to pick anything up. Can see there being a few goals in this one if Bournemouth come here playing an open game
whoareyaaa Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 I hope we try and pass the ball a bit more today over the last few games the passing has got worse and worse with more long and direct balls leading to nothing, I know our game isn't possesion but we should at least try and play some football all the players have the ability.
Bettsj2 Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Defeatist twaddle Betts ! ... Shame on you. Sorreh.
sdb Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Please let's not lower our standards in the stands today folks!!! Massive effort from us needed. It's cold, wet, we're not playing a top half team...we could easily get a little quiet and complacent if history is anything to go by. Let's maintain our own high standards from the off!!!
ian_marshall Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Patience is important today. The commentator for the Man City game said before kick-off "Leicester's style is to come out of the blocks fast and blow teams away". But actually, in the last three months we've only scored one goal in the first twenty minutes. Regarding your first point, that would be a rather naive approach to take given the level of opposition we've come up against both technically and tactically in the last two games. Also, anyone who has watched us regularly will know that if we go goal behind the fans stick by the team and won't get on the players backs. Also, we've been one of this seasons come back kings, so to assume that an early goal would derail us would be a very dangerous approach to take. Regarding your second point, the commentators from the Man City game clearly weren't well informed as we've not really scored a great deal of early goals throughout the season. Quite the opposite, we're a team that is most likely to score the more the game goes on due to our high energy and fitness levels.
Babylon Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Okay - I'll try to explain more clearly. a) Bournemouth are an improving side. As their injuries clear and new faces come in they'll become a tougher challlenge and I hope we will benefit from playing them before they've reached a peak for the season. As they do they may well take points off our potential rivals. b) We're scoring fewer goals now and not playing anything like such exciting football because we can't. The opposition has been good but, more than that, we've lost the raw pace that disturbed people because Vardy is less than fully fit now and the always steady Albrighton really doesn't have the destructive pace of Schlupp. Our approach now is much more considered, we don't have even the chance of streaming waves of players into the box because where, once, Schlupp, Vardy and Mahrez represented a potent force of three going on five in terms of value we've now got a suffering Vardy and no Schlupp so a goals threat worth maybe half what it was. Opponents also know now that Shinji's withdrawn into midfield much or the time he plays, Drinkwater's been injured and is no goals threat at all, DeLaet's supportive pace on the right has gone (for all that we now have a better defender in his place), Dyer is hardly used, King's become a periphery part-timer whose once considerable goal threat is a distant memory and Inler hardly looks likely to be more than a very occasional scorer. It's early days but we're gradually being changed into an Italianate team which doesn't concede much and tries to pinch a goal. In other words we commit more to defence than attack. Schlupp and De Laet have been missing from full back for a dozen games. To suggest they have in some way been missed and that it's a sign of us becoming some Italian style team is utterly ludicrous at this moment in time. We've been banging in the goals without them, whilst also being better at the back. And shock horror... We've looked more defensive against better teams. I'm sorry, but that's to be expected from almost every team in the league, we did that at the start of the season also, see Spurs. It doesn't indicate a change in style long term at all. We're not good at possession football, against those that are we have much less of the ball, which alone will make us look more defensive. Add to that teams like Liverpool actually changing their formation at home to combat us, something we're not used to facing!
Medwayfox Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 I don't think maintaining exactly the same team match after match and playing the same style match after match will give us a realistic shot at the title; fatigue, predictability and injuries will see to that. I would take some calculated risks now in the hope of winning the title. Nothing ventured nothing gained and you have to speculate to accumulate etc. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and we should go for it.
lgfualol Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 I think they will score first and dominate first half. We come out second half and score. 1-1
kingfox Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Bournemouth are a team not to be underestimated, plucky side who will definitely go for it because they only know one way. If Kante & Drinkwater are that good they should boss these, the defence has been decent recently so fingers crossed Morgan & Huth can dominate Josh King. I'll go with a 2-1 win, can see it being a bit like the Watford game.
Raj Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Big test for the lads.It easy to be up for playing the big boys but with all respect to Bournmouth it'd be easy for our boys to take it as a given. Also agree with what someone said regarding the atmosphere.Hope everyone is in good voice to let of some steam!!! 2-1 city

So you would look to change what has got us where we are? Message boards don't do tone of voice so I feel the need to say...'genuine question' :-)
Medwayfox Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 So you would look to change what has got us where we are?Message boards don't do tone of voice so I feel the need to say...'genuine question' :-) Not wholesale change just try some new permutations in midfield and upfront. In defence we don't have a lot of options - it's called evolution and looking ahead.

4everfox Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Anything less then 3 points will be a very poor result in my opinion.
Izzy Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Getting a bit pissed off with Talksport saying 'Leicester have failed to score over the Christmas period' so hope we score a hat full today to shut the twats up. Can only see Bournemouth scoring one at most, so I'm going 2-1 to us. Fail to win and the pundits will be all over us like a rash saying our bubble has burst. If we're really serious about top 4, we need to win games like this today.
surrifox Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 I think this might be the way it pans out too I think they will score first and dominate first half. We come out second half and score. 1-1
