dannythefox Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 I can't believe if we scored the two penaltys we'd have been 4 points clear at the top now. I hope raniari has sorted this problem out and given it to Vardy.
Clever Fox Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 I can't understand stand why Fuchs or Albrighton are not taking them. their both such good kickers of the Ball. A crisply struck penalty into one of the Corners always has to be saved otherwise it's a goal. Smashing them requires a large element of luck unless you're consistently accurate. But this still gives the Keeper a chance as very often their a good height for the Keeper to save.
Singha Beer Is Good! Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Anybody except Mahrez! We could be FOUR points clear at the top if those two pens had been converted. Vardy should take them, even Ulloja has scored from the spot. We can't afford to miss gilt edged chances when they are given to us. Mahrez has been great this season but he is off the boil at the moment. Would even consider resting him and giving Gray a start.
ozleicester Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 I'd have more faith in Kermo stepping up to take one than Mahrez next time!
Brooksy Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Fuchs seems like a confident bloke so i'd like to see him on it. Wouldn't be against Inler having a go if he's on the pitch either
Ozwin Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Penalties are a lottery. Could quite easily have scored both and nobody would have mentioned a thing about their placement. Just happens sometimes. You're telling me Mahrez isn't on that training field practicing penalties all next week? He's going to feel a right tit now.
FireFox Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Yeah, just let Mahrez take them. He'll never miss again now.
Filbert_Ross Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Does Fuchs take them for Austria or something or had taken them elsewhere?
char123 Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Ranieri has confirmed on tv today that mahrez has been took off penalty duties. Not knocking the lad but i think its the right decision for now.
NewEnglandFox Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 CR: “Riyad was a little sad [to miss the penalty]. I spoke with him and I said 'come on man, even champions miss penalties.'” #LeiTot CR: “I talked to him and said 'don’t worry, take a little break and you’ll have a chance to take them again.'” #LeiTot CR: “I will speak with my players [about who takes penalties]. Last season it was Leo Ulloa who took penalties. I will see.” #LeiTot
Fox92 Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Thank God for that. Give them Vardy. At least he just smashes them in.
nnfox Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 CR: “Riyad was a little sad [to miss the penalty]. Last season it was Leo Ulloa who took penalties. I will see.” #LeiTot On present form, I don't really want Leo to take them. He is playing so badly at the moment he would probably miss the ball with his foot! Vardy for me.
suffolk fox Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Should be like the nfl whereby a player is paid millions of pounds a year purely for taking the penalty kicks. In that case I would dust off the mothballs and bring back Gary Parker. Now that man could take a bloody good penalty he never missed.
Stevosevic Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Good, 4 out of 7 is a horrible return. I can't see it being anyone but Vardy. It has to be a regular starter and i imagine the only other competition from the usual 11 is Fuchs.
char123 Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Thats what i was thinking if u smash it and the keeper gets a small touch its got more chance of goin in than the way mahrez takes them. What about drinkwater or fuchs maybe
Fox92 Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Vardy / Inler / Fuchs for me. Whoever is confident out of those three.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Mitrovic just missed 2 pens for Newcastle and stuck his third effort away. I don't think it's that he missed against Villa, it's the way he took it, even if it went in you'd think bloody hell, that was a poor pen, he didn't do his trademark stutter and just put in a nothing pen, so maybe would be best to take him off, at least, the next one. Get him back in form then give them to him again.
FoxesFan94 Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Probably for the best. I would rather see someone atleast try to score and miss than the pathetic attempt against Villa.
goose2010 Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Fuchs or Vardy for me. Mahrez must of made that decision himself bit harsh taking them off him if not. Probably for the best. I would rather see someone atleast try to score and miss than the pathetic attempt against Villa. You trying to say he was trying to miss? Keeper goes the other way its a good penalty end of.
NewEnglandFox Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Has anyone already seen Fuchs take one in a game or is it just from the video with Inler? Transfermarkt says Fuchs scored 1 in 2003 against 1. Landesliga Niederösterreich. Inler scored one against San Marino a few months ago but he's rarely on the pitch.

KP Fox Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Has to be a regular team player. So that rules out Leo and Inler. So either Vardy or Fuchs would be the obvious choices. Has to Vardy with his track record or if he happens not to be on the pitch then Fuchs takes it.
goose2010 Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 No it's not, it's something a manager should be doing if his current penalty taker is missing 3 out of 7. CR isn't that type of manager though I imagine he would of sat down with Mahrez and discussed this with him. He isn't a controlling dictating type of manager.

Last season it was Leo Ulloa who took penalties. I will see.” #LeiTot I recall Leo taking 2, Nuge taking 2, and Mahrez 1. I may be missing a couple. We've had a lot more penalties this year than last and it's only January. Should be like the nfl whereby a player is paid millions of pounds a year purely for taking the penalty kicks. In that case I would dust off the mothballs and bring back Gary Parker. Now that man could take a bloody good penalty he never missed. That's not a great comparison. A field goal kicker in the NFL takes multiple field goals in most games, all from varying distances where wind can really impact the trajectory of the ball. They get paid millions for a reason and most of them are still the cheapest players on the team.
