Penalty Taker

I think like I said he is short on confidence, so he just wanted to hit the target and hope the keeper moves out the way. obviously the keeper didn't so now he looks like a disabled, especially if we don't win.

Yeah he doesn't look himself and his confidence would have been low after the last miss.

Probably should be relived of his duties on pens for a while.

yeah, massively frustrating because the reason he is so amazing is his skill and ability on the ball but he's not using any of that atm due to a lack of confidence, but the only way he gets his confidence back is by skinning 8 men and finding the top bin.

dilemma.

Shame we haven't got Derby in the cup. We do our usual thrashing of them and Mahrez would get a hatrick against them.

Vardy and Mahrez should alternate them

Agreed. If I was a manager I would insist on 2 nominated penalty takers and they take alternate penalties so you wouldn't get a player taking 2 in one match unless we got 3 penalties. Certain clubs have done this in the past and it also helps if one of the players is off the pitch.

Think i'm with scouse, he didn't look confident, but then I don't thnk he usually does. It might just be his sad/concerned eyes that he has.

Just smash the bloody thing, can't stand all this 'trick the goalkeeper bollocks'.  If you smash it and the goalkeeper pulls off a great save then so be it.  If you don't you increase the chance of it being saved.

He's looked like he can't be arsed with the pens against Bournemouth and Villa. Got to be someone else's turn (Vardy? Fuchs?) - either go for the corners or smash it. He just jogs up and pokes it anywhere, and has cost us valuable points

when it comes to penalties, inches make the difference.

another day and that peno goes in or the keeper dives the wrong way.

think we need to change it though. mahrez should understand no one has a right to take penalties and he's missed the last two.

Placement and power, 9 times out of 10 and you'll always score. No excuse for Mahrez, these two against Bournemouth and particularly today against Villa were simply appalling efforts and he needs to be relieved of this duty immediately. Extremely angry at essentially passing up the opportunity of having the game won by half time. Simply unacceptable effort.

What does that mean? haha

You'll find that placement and power tends to be on a linear scale. The more you favour one, the less you'll get of the other.

I can accept penalties being missed if the goalkeeper makes a good save. But what's annoyed me more about the last 2 he's missed is the laziness that he looks like he's taking them with.

Poor poor penalties and that's 3 he's missed now, hopefully Ranieri gets involved and tells them he's not on them anymore.

Totally agree, get him off them. He takes them like a prat every time and it was bound to catch up with him.

Would have been an ideal chance to get Vardy back in the goals.
