No excuse for Mahrez, these two against Bournemouth and particularly today against Villa were simply appalling efforts and he needs to be relieved of this duty immediately. Extremely angry at essentially passing up the opportunity of having the game won by half time. Simply unacceptable effort.

ScouseFox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 the bournemouth one was just a slightly poor penalty and a quite good save from a keeper who went the right way. today was pathetic. still, he's probably one of the best players ive ever seen play for us, and is massively responsible for our best season ever (so far). no need to go in too hard. couple of "below par" performances (bear in mind his "par" is a goal and an assist a game based on this season) and one awful penalty doesn't change the rest of the season. do think if we get another penalty before his performances improve we should have someone else on it. pens are all about confidence, he's shorter on it than he should be and it showed today. he played it "safe" just wanting to hit the target and hope the keeper guesses wrong instead of finding the inside of the post or the top corner.

I think like I said he is short on confidence, so he just wanted to hit the target and hope the keeper moves out the way. obviously the keeper didn't so now he looks like a disabled, especially if we don't win.
