Len Finsbury Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 I see the Sun asking if he'll be fit for the Euros!
UPinCarolina Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 This was bound to happen sometime - many of you predicted/expected that Vardy had a lingering injury that needed to be dealt with. Perhaps this is the best time that it could have happened? January transfer window, a small break before Spurs in the League, gives Kramaric a chance to get some squad time and we can see who we are without Vardy. Tough blow, but the ground isn't about to swallow us up.
EnglishOxide Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Does anyone not think that if Ranieri and his coaching team thought Kram was good enough, he'd play? Do people believe otherwise..or is there something you're not telling us? THAT'S not rocket science is it? It's perfectly logical that he'd not want to change a winning team. Shinji and Ulloa have been doing the job asked of them for the most part. And there is only so much you can learn about a player in training.
NewEnglandFox Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 I've since changed my mind if you read my reply to Col, Shinji and Ulloa need it on a plate whereas Kram has a bit more guile and flair Kram's the only one of them that can create his own chances. Leo can be on either end but right now can't finish so is poor. Shinji can't create and it's rare he finds himself space to receive so is more useless IMO. I'd rather have someone who shoots and misses than never put himself into a position to change the game at all. I fancy Kram in the 4-5-1 over any combo of the other 3 right now considering how we're playing. Keep the ball in front of Kasper and hopefully something good can happen the few times we're able to get near Lloris.
Kitchandro Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Inevitable. He's been carrying something for several games. Oh well, we need to sign someone up front anyway. Time for other players to prove we're not a one man team.

And there is only so much you can learn about a player in training. Not really, they've scored 4 goals between them and their general hold up play has been poor to say the least. Agree with you can only learn so much in training though. Claridge was famously useless in training. The truth is probably that none of them are good enough.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Vardy was in much need of the rest he will get, he hasn't been match fit that is clear... we need to sign someone asap
lgfualol Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 A rest will do him well. He needs time to recharge his batteries. Dont have much faith in our other strikers.
Frank to be Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Kram should get a chance in the cup but if he doesn't perform it'll be Mahrez in the hole and either Shinji or Ulloa up front, or maybe Shinji and Ulloa up front. Kramaric has been behind the two of them in the pecking order all season. Unless he proves himself in the cup he will still be behind them.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Another reason why we need to sign another first team striker. No way can we rely on Ulloa or Shinji. Or Kram Col?Although I think we need to sign somebody anyway
MC Prussian Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Some people are getting carried away a bit here - we've been punching somewhat above our weight with the fantastic results this season so far, so I'd say two weeks without Vardy are negligible. There were rumours about an OP floating around for a while now, so it can't come as a huge surprise that at one point, we'd have to give Ulloa/Okazaki plus Kramaric finally a chance and see how they cope up front. Now is their time to shine. The FA Cup game next weekend should see a handful of bench regulars trying to make a point on the pitch as starters, anyway. Wish Vardy a speedy recovery.
My Nads Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Shinji would be the best option to play in the Vardy role. He scores a lot of goals for Japan and he bagged a load when he was in Germany, so I don't see why he can't do it for us. It will be Shinji or Leo, Kram is even behind Dodoo if he's back from loan.
fuchsntf Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Somehow I would be upset, if I was Kramaric, or Inler, being given a chance with 6-7 other fringe players. Who-ever it is who gets in, while too many 1st teamers get a rest, would have a good arguing point. Ya boss, but My performance was dependent on who was around me, if I had Kante and Mahrez and Vardy with me , we all would of looked better... Mind you with Marcin Wasi, he wouldnt give a furkle, he would play and bite, when and whereever asked. God I wish he was just 5 years younger.
Collymore Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 This is sooooooo obviously the club's way of "giving him a rest" without gaining too much media attention. Quite clever really. I also have a feeling they might have striker lined up, inanimately
foxinsox Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 I remember when Dickov had a groin op and was playing in the first team (and playing well!) Just a week later. Vardy picked up the groin injury against Man U. It was slowing him down, though he did score against both Man U and Chelsea with it, and came pretty close on Saturday against Bournemouth. In other words he stuck it out for over a month, until the best gapin the fixtures. Claudio, the scouts and the owners have known about this for six weeks. It is not a coincidence that the op will take place at the same time the transfer window opens. I think it very likely we have another striker before the second Spurs game

I also have a feeling they might have striker lined up, inanimately ...and it stops him being linked to a transfer for a couple of weeks too.
LCFC95 Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 I've got a feeling he may be back for the Spurs game on the 13th, and if not I'm pretty sure he'll be back for the Villa game.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Hope this makes him better. Hasn't looked quite right over last three games Imo. Operation and rest hopefully to do good
Guest Col city fan Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 I may be wrong, but I thought there were certain injuries/minor surgeries that needed a bit of time. Hamstring is one, for sure..even a tweak can put you out for three weeks or so. And I thought groin strain was another. I'm no medical expert so I'll leave it to the club, but I do hope we don't rush Vardy back a little too quickly. Again, I think it shows just how reliant we are on him. This club really does need that second striker of quality who can take the burden off the lad a little. That said, I suppose it's the same for most clubs really...getting the second quality striker in.
Thracian Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 If anyone thinks Kramaric can take Vardy's place they're deluded. I'm not against his being included in the squad but we need a top class striker to take Vardy's place and let no-one pretend otherwise. I actually think we want at least two quality strikers. Ulloa's okay as back-up and Kramaric might prove something though I doubt it - but the two strikers are imperative if we're going to maintain our momentum...even when Vardy returns. And like CCF says we probably need to plan for Vardy being out for a bit longer than a fortunight.
filbertstreet Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 groin operation so his balls of steel are weighing him down too much then?
Dr The Singh Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 It's all about ambition,if the club is happy with just a top 10 place, kram/ulloa/shitji will be fine, as they are lower league strikers. If the club is going to for a top 4, we need more fire power for sure
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 4 January 2016 Posted 4 January 2016 IF he does miss the Spurs game away in the league, why does everyone think that Kram will be given a run out? In all honesty I can see CR pushing forward the De Jong deal through if there's substance behind it & we go to Spurs playing a 4-5-1/4-3-3 with Okazaki down the middle on his own & De Jong sitting in front of the defence to give DD & Kante more freedom!
Chelve84 Posted 4 January 2016 Posted 4 January 2016 Someone on here last week said that he was having an operation in January due to the management thinking it's the best time with the fixtures we've got.Yes was me mate in the jamie vardy transfer section. Guess he was right
