Wymsey Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Never really understood why Ken Dodd was 'funny', apart from his hair and dress-sense.
separator Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Al Murray, the pub landlord. Funny back in the day but just recycling the same jokes these days
katieakita Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Never really understood why Ken Dodd was 'funny', apart from his hair and dress-sense. His tax returns were funny
separator Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 His tax returns were funny Almost as funny as Jimmy Carr's
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Shaun Lock is great on the tv but saw him at De mont and he was dreadful. My mrs even tried to heckle him, which was the funniest thing all night! This guy? http://www.musicteachers.co.uk/teacher/b6834cd9af313a05ae47 He doesn't look that funny
Kinowe Soorie Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 This guy? http://www.musicteachers.co.uk/teacher/b6834cd9af313a05ae47 He doesn't look that funny That's the one...
Webbo Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 It's almost as though comedy is subjective... You can't beat a good negative thread, 6 pages in a day. we all get to slag someone off.
cambridgefox Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Just watching Amy Schumer on Sky Atlantic and she is good and a women,I'm confused.
steveherbe Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Michael Mcintyre and Jimmy Carr are AWFUL. And that Millican bint. Peter Kaye on the other hand is God in my eyes. Oh, and Jasper Carrot live is unbelievable, I very nearly died at one of his shows back in the 1870's. Or did I mean 1970's - or 80's. I love dementia.
Haydos Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Every female stand up ever. It's not that I'm sexist, it's an actual fact. I can't think of a single one who's any good. I find Ruby Wax the best out of the lot. Joan Rivers can be pretty ****ing funny. Fair play at her age as well.
Webbo Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Joan Rivers can be pretty ****ing funny. Fair play at her age as well. And the fact that she's dead.
Arkie Bennett Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 The worst stand ups I've seen live are Dominic Holland and Roy 'Chubby' Brown. The best are Mark Steel, Ardal O'Hanlon and Clive James (not strictly a stand-up, but he toured his one man show in 2009 after performing it at the previous year's Edinburgh festival).
Webbo Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 I saw Chubby Brown in Blackpool in the 80s. If you've got a strong stomach and had a few drinks he's hilarious. I've seen bits of his show on youtube and it's really not the same.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 9 January 2016 Posted 9 January 2016 And the fact that she's dead. I always assumed she'd be dreadful but after she died they repeated this 'an audience with...' type things on telly and I really, really enjoyed it. Just this filthy old cow being outrageous and offending pretty much everyone but with fantastic comic timing. Unexpected laughs are always particularly good, I think

I know what you mean - I'd always assumed I wouldn't like her, but when I finally saw some of her material, I was really impressed. She certainly pulled no punches. Definitely my favourite female comedian. Shame she passed away.
Guest MattP Posted 9 January 2016 Posted 9 January 2016 Jim Bowen was actually good live. In terms of response and delivery though I don't anyone can ever top Bernard Manning.
Wrighty22 Posted 9 January 2016 Posted 9 January 2016 Jim Bowen was actually good live. In terms of response and delivery though I don't anyone can ever top Bernard Manning. We all know you love a good racist joke
foxfanazer Posted 9 January 2016 Posted 9 January 2016 Russel Howard, Andy Parsons and Sarah Milican Kevin Bridges is a funny guy
surrifox Posted 9 January 2016 Posted 9 January 2016 I really dislike Jo Brand and Jimmy Carr . But I stopped enjoying most comedy after the 80s ! Ben Elton did it for me . I am also probably the only person that found "Gavin and Stacey " about as funny as amoebic dysentery
Haydos Posted 9 January 2016 Posted 9 January 2016 And the fact that she's dead. Haha, completely forgot she had died. Whoops. RIP you funny old lass.
separator Posted 9 January 2016 Posted 9 January 2016 Lee Nelson, Reeves & Mortimer, Brian Conley... all terrible and all playing at the Leicester comedy festival next month.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 9 January 2016 Posted 9 January 2016 Reeves and Mortimer at the festival? Excellent! PS you aren't allowed to dislike them, with them being both incredible comedy writers and performers
