HighPeakFox Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Football isn't all about life and death.. It's much more important than that.. ...Bill Shankley I see. Cos Shankly said it, it MUST be true. I was forgetting he was Wittgenstein.
Biggus Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Yep - I woke up this morning having got over the disappointment and anxiety of watching that match yesterday. Four points from last two games is on track AND the results were the right way round i.e. we beat Spurs who are our competition for top places. I am sure that midweek match against Spurs took something out of the lads. The penalty miss was demoralising - no more thanks Riyad. If Arsenal lose then we have gained on all but Man City. Onward and upwards - but wait, we are at the top, no upwards possible!
lgfualol Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 I predicted us preseason to finish around 14th. We're still top of the league in January with 3 points more than we got all last season. It's all gud
coolhandfox Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 4 point form two away games, nothing to worry about, just enjoy the season
ozleicester Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 if the last 3 weeks are our "blip" or "bubble bursting" then im ecstatic.
Weller in Tights Posted 17 January 2016 Author Posted 17 January 2016 if the last 3 weeks are our "blip" or "bubble bursting" then im ecstatic. Exactly, the pundits early on talked about... "What happens when they have their blip, it's about how they respond" "How will they react when the bubble bursts" Well if this is our blip, let's stand by the team and do our bit to get them over it. Come on City!
cjslcfc Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 We're having/we have had our blip and we are still top of the bloody league (until 6pm at least). Just let that sink in guys. It's not a bad thing, nor is it "small-time", to remember we are Leicester City and we spent most of last season at the foot of the table. Yesterday was poor and disappointing for sure but it was one of our worst performances of the season and we still got a point. I'm pretty sure having 3 away games in a week just took its toll a little bit.
chapero82 Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 if the last 3 weeks are our "blip" or "bubble bursting" then im ecstatic. I really hope this is our sticky patch that every team goes through even the champions do
Clever Fox Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 We will get better as the Weather improves and Grounds get dryer. After next Saturday they'll have a chance to draw breath.
Thracian Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 I'm still feeling very positive. The Christmas and New year period is notoriously tough period, I'd argue they Claudio has managed it very well, had Riyad scored his pens we'd have a near-perfect record. I am concerned by yesterday's performance but you're always going to get shit performances every now and again. That said, I think bringing in a new striker, in the mould of JV, is an absolute must this January. The guy is quite clearly playing through a significant injury and it's costing him and us. Your generosity's commendable. But Riyad didn't score the penalties - or look like scoring them. And we haven't got the additional striker we need as a priority.
Thracian Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Exactly, get behind the team. We're leicester not barcelona, to be top of the prem after a slip in form and a few doggo results is insane. We are safe now and guaranteed prem football next season, to have that in January is unbelievable! Insane? I think it far more crazy to be needlessly giving points away by half-hitting penalties, and seemingly surrendering by far the best chance we've ever had of qualifying for the Champions League by building banks of defenders and trying to beg results instead of attacking in the way that got us to the top of the league in the first place.
Guest Col city fan Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Looked at the league table earlier and I'm getting more and more pissed off with Mahrez and the penalties. We'd have been four points clear! And 11 points above 5th place. What a fookin missed opportunity. It's time for him especially to get his shit sorted out and to start playing the way we know he can. This isn't the time to go completely off form. Need to beat Stoke on Saturday (they are a good side) and get going again. I'd hate to not make Champs league now. We are so close.
HighPeakFox Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Ifs and buts. Both penalties are now history. We can speculate as to why he missed. I was totally hacked off he missed them but it's now all about Wednesday. Move on!

I bet you are one of those, that want city in Europe, but will be voting for Britain to leave. ... Believe my son, and gud ol King Dick will listen and provide. Charrrge...!!!!
fleckneymike Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 What if we all stood up and the tall people were at the front? Surely that would make the counting more difficult?
coolhandfox Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Last 6 games Arsenal 11pts, Man City 11pts, City 9pts is hardly a blip! If we carry on in the same vain for the next 12 games we will have 62pts with 4 games to go!
Foxxed Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 What if we all stood up and the tall people were at the front? Surely that would make the counting more difficult? Good point, but I think this is an argument in favour of Safe Standing.
Blackpool Fox 69 Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Come on you Foxes, sod the 4 points for the missed pens, Amartey looks a beast and gives Kanté licence to run with the ball a bit more, things are looking up AND we've lost twice all season!!!!!! Who else can say that!!!! Let's get behind the boys at the KP vs Spuds n Stokies!!!!The twelfth man can make a real difference in the next 6 days and make the lads realise, despite the "blip", we are right behind them!
Vardinio'sCat Posted 19 January 2016 Posted 19 January 2016 We aren't the only fans to be disappointed by a couple of results this season, painful as Villa was. Imagine being a Chelsea or Man U fan. Banzai!
BluethroughtheMiddle Posted 19 January 2016 Posted 19 January 2016 Well as I put £50 on at 250-1 to finish top 4, I'm slightly biased...
Vlad the Fox Posted 19 January 2016 Posted 19 January 2016 My season tickets in the East Stand, however against bournmouth I got tickets for the kids and moved to the front sk1, I couldn't believe the moaning and negativity from some people and one loud mouth who commented 'not that' when Okazaki came on. If we want the players to falter and buckle under pressure then sure get on their backs, but this season has been sensational and far exceeded our wildest expectations, for this we should back the team vocally whatever happens as they've put everything into the first half of the season and are now starting to look a bit jaded in places only positivity will help them through it.
st albans fox Posted 19 January 2016 Posted 19 January 2016 We haven't even signed amartey yet. And there is no guarantee that he will take to this league as quickly as ngolo did. I am placing my trust in the fact that Claudio has changed the style to give us a rest and once the batteries are recharged, we will go for it in the last 12/14 games.
TMELcfc Posted 19 January 2016 Posted 19 January 2016 Yes people, please don't start to get upset, take stock of where we are compared to last year and let's not make the atmosphere at the ground a flash in the pan! Keep it going and players will!
Thracian Posted 19 January 2016 Posted 19 January 2016 Last 6 games Arsenal 11pts, Man City 11pts, City 9pts is hardly a blip! If we carry on in the same vain for the next 12 games we will have 62pts with 4 games to go! Giving four points away for nothing isn't a blip, it's a concession to the cause of our rivals.
