We put a bid in for Lacazette last week, deal was all set to be completed - until today when the player heard that Micky off Foxestalk was dropping hints about the transfer, scuppered

Over 650 posts and no mention of Morrisons. Can someone get down there tomorrow and keep an eye out?

Been living in car park since January 1st but nothing happening :( One day I might be ITK :)

Either Van Persie/Dzeko would be class signings. Both proven Premier League goal scorers. I don't think they'll come here though, and I'm not sure how the wages situation would work.

surely wages wouldn't be an issue off it was a short term deal. Say £100,000 for 17 weeks till end of season and he helps with goals to get us to the promised land. £1.7m will be a snip

Lavezzi? Available for €4m

And 200 grand a week!

Guess we could give him a signing on fee of 15 mill and pay him 50k/week so he's on the same as gokhan. Those of you with a calculater have worked out this is only a two year deal!

Doesn't score enough anyway

I genuinely am not interested about knowing who it is. He can DM a mod who can then tell us all if it's true and I'll donate the money

It's infuriating when people just make things up to satisfy there twisted fantasies.

Let's hope he's telling the true. Let's hope it is a massive name that if mentioned on foxestalks may scupper the deal, but come let's be a little realistic. He's winding everyone up

And yes I did take the bait if it was bait

I really think as before posted, it could be drogba on the short term deal. Shed load of wages ala cambiasso for short term loan or contract

Tbf it is really annoying when people tell you they know something and then say they can't say. I don't understand the intention of it unless it's bullshit

Drogba tweeted earlier saying on his way to Qatar for pre season with Montreal. And Chelsea wanted him as a coach also so won't be him

Fair enough but dont get your knickers in a twist over it. Personally it excites me just at the mere thought we could sitn someone big. If its bullshit then so be it

He's 38 in March. Come on

whilst I take your point, what age was EC? Age is a number, class is class. It was last season he was playing well for Chelsea again having left. Still scored goals. As I said, short term deal. Not a season long slog. Maybe wouldn't be doing more than he needed in training. Look what our strikers could learn from him, as no doubt JV did from Kevin Philips and drinks from EC. Just a thought that's all

This time last year we were at the foot of the table, this year we top it with CL football a real possibility - maybe even a title.

If you go into any negotiation with that as a bargaining tool, you never know what may happen.

tjanks. Didn't know, but shows clubs are wanting his playing skills even at 38

Have a look at yourself. He was dross last year. his highlight was s prong against us! He can barely sprint. We don't need someone to teach our strikers how to score - we need someone to take the pressure off JV and contribute the goals to get us over the line into the CL.

This is so insane. If it's a true jaw drop signing then it's going to mean that the wait is even that much more intense. It's only a week before the window closes but on the other hand, it's a whole week!!! Arrrrgh!!

Hopefully whoever the deal is, it can be done in time for our next game...

Lacazette has said himself that he won't be leaving in the Jan window, also only mentioned Leicester as an example of how competitive the Prem was.  Forget him as an option - for now
