EGBFitness Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 The fact that we need to put (Barcelona) suggests that this is massively unlikely. Then again so is us 3 points clear on the 25th Jan. And not for the fact the player is quite unknown and some might assume it was the Sandro at Spurs and QPR!?
Robin JD Popley Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Just to be even linked with players of this ilk should act as a reminder where we're all going... IF we end up as Champions League qualifiers, this should be a sign of things to come. What a time to be alive!

Carl the Llama Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 So you have only watched him against leicester? And their Sunday matches of which he only did anything against Sunderland. Vs Spurs, Man City, Liverpool he was crap. And Swansea yesterday. Edit: Sorry not Man City, apparently he barely played that one. Point still stands that he's done nowt on the occasions I watched them play which explains how I'm yet to be impressed by him. Anyway this is the Sandro thread so I'll stop going on about it now.
thybluefox Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Looks much more like a Vardy "replacement" than Elder does. This would get me pretty excited tbh.
les-tah Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Looks much more like a Vardy "replacement" than Elder does. This would get me pretty excited tbh. Not claiming to know much about the guy but hes listed as a 'Forward' so assume he drops a bit deeper and links play more than a striker/Vardy Role. - on that note can anyone who knows this guys game (not football manager ) can help?

True, but he also looks quick and like he can finish. If Vardy had more technical ability like this guy I bet he'd drop a little deeper on occasion too.
Dan Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Wouldn't be one bit surprised if it was one of those who we ended up signing for £9mil on the basis Barca can have him back at any time for £15mil, or something like that. By all accounts he's class.
foxes161 Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Barcelona love this buy back option clause That's the route they will go again
Blanesta Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 That buy back option is pants, if he does well they could buy him back cheap, and sell him for the going rate, but if he's rubbish they've already made a lot of money on him, it's risk free business for them, and lt stops the player becoming an investment for us.
Ric Flair Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 That buy back opinion is pants, if he does well they could buy him back cheap, and sell him for the going rate, but if he's rubbish they've already made a like money on him, it's risk free business for them, and lt stops the player becoming an investment for us. It's basically a loan deal isn't it but with all the risk levied on us the buyer.
The Guvnor Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 If he's not good enough to secure a regular place with Barcelona he can do one.
Alf Bentley Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 As long as it's not Sandra (pub) I don't mind So you'd accept any of the following? Sander (Tool shed) Sandy (Grease) Sandy (4th July, Asbury Park) Sandie (Puppet on a string) Sandi (TV comedy quiz) Zandra (Fashion) Sindh (Pakistan) Sunny Ade (African beats) Sundried tomatoes (deli counter)
MC Prussian Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 If he's not good to secure a regular place with Barcelona he can do one. Not sure if serious. Messi - Neymar - Suárez Need I say more?
dylanlegend Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Has 3 in 3 in the copa del rey, yes please Dodoo has 4 in 3 cup games

[ara] Barca have the same buy back option with Gerard Deulofeu If he's not good to secure a regular place with Barcelona he can do one. you having a laugh?First off he's 20 and you do realise they have 3 of the best 4 players in the world in his position?

I don't like the terms because if he's crap we'd be stuck with him and if he's a star they buy him back on the cheap. Didn't Everton pay £4m-£6m for Deulofeu? I can see Barcelona buying him back just to sell him again. I know nothing of Sandro but I'd like to think we will at least get him on the cheap if Barcelona want to put this clause in.

Gives them years to develop then if good enough they come back.Deulofeu is looking real good at Everton do moving there is great for his development. Frustrating for the teams they currently play for though

I don't know, the fee they set is normally quite high. For instance, if a player is going to be good enough for Barcelona to want him for their first team, 15-20m would represent peanuts for Barcelona and, if we've only splashed out 6/8m in the first place, a good profit for us. And, of course, he has to want to go back. If he's a revelation for us and we make the Champions League, it would be a more attractive proposition for him to feature week-in-week-out for a top PL side than sporadically for Barcelona. And, while we're at it, if he does leave but turns out to be a revelation for us along the way, then we'll only lose him if he's proven to be a very good signing.

The buy back option would not present us with any profit. They would buy him back for the fee that we pay plus any costs in wages, agents fees etc. We would not lose anything, but in terms of true profit, we wouldn't make anything. This deal would only really be a risk if he turns out to be rubbish and we splash 10m on him and put on 50k a week for the next 5 years. Trouble is if he turns out to be worth 50-60m then we make nothing, but have had his services for a few years
